Cherry blossoms!

Oh I love this time of year, the flowers are growing and the trees are budding. I especially love the flowering trees in my street and at the back of the house.

Even in my dazed state of the flue I could admire the smell, colour and light on these beautiful and tender cherry blossoms. Just appreciating their richness made me feel a little lighter and happier.

Fallen petals

Spring is progressing and the blossoms that were on tree are now falling to the ground in abundance. They form lovely patterns on the sidewalks, like confetti. I remember I shot many pictures of that process last year, see over here. 
Today I went to the grocery store and again I had perceptions of pink and purple petals on the sidewalk and on cars. I really enjoy seeing the petals, it is so festive! I hope you enjoy it, too.

Flowers of Prague

As I wrote yesterday, Spring also came to Prague. Here are some pictures with the flowers of Prague.

Early blossoms

As we all know by now Spring has started early this year. The trees are bursting and the blossoms are already coming out. Their stages go by so fast.

The first picture is taken on the 9th of March. A very different day than the pictures below as the sky is of a very intense kind of blue.

The other two pictures are taken earlier this week. We have three trees in front of our house and the middle one is blooming right now, that is the one you see in the images. The color of the sky is more lavender.

Standing underneath them feels exotic. As I was taken these two photos a passerby commented: "It's like being in Japan." And that felt right. I' ve never been to Japan, but I can imagine the feeling.

Spring time!

Yesterday was my day off and amongst doing errands, groceries and going to IKEA (as I posted yesterday), I also took a walk in the Vondelpark.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous: it was warm and sunny, the sky was blue and lots of people were out to enjoy this all.

This little guy asked his mother whether he could pick some flowers. His mother told him only to take two and that is just what he did.

At about four o'clock, the light was gorgeous.

There was a whole field of crocuses and people as well as animals were taking a delight in this.

All in all: it's Spring time!

Blossoms

It's sooo definitely Spring, there is no way going around it. And we were sooo longing for it, too! Temperatures are finally rising, trees are budding, the grass is becoming greener (after a little rain) and the occasional tree is blossoming.

How happy I am!
