Happy Birthday...MFT April Release Rewind 46

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, April 14, 2013 @ 9:00 PM | , , , ,

Hi there! Welcome to the MFT April Release Rewind! Over the next couple of days, many of the MFT DT members will be sharing projects made using awesome products included in the April release! Be sure to visit the MFT blog for a complete list of designers who will be participating.
Today I have a collection of rather clean and simple cards to share featuring MFT Birthday Sentiments along with LLD Border It - Mod Borders. On the first card, I stamped a sentiment from MFT Birthday Sentiments using Blue Raspbery ink on a die cut circle then layered it on top of a die cut doily made using a Die-namics Dainty Doily DUO die.
The Blu Raspberry mat and little die tag in the upper right hand corner were cut using dies from Die-namics Blueprints 2.
Up next is a card featuring another fun sentiment from MFT Birthday Sentiments and background stamped using LLD Border It - Mod Borders along with Grape Jelly ink.
I stamped the sentiment on a Smooth White cs die cut made using Die-namics Mini Album STAX. I combined elements from both Die-namics Blueprints 1 and Die-namics Blueprints 2 to create this card. Gotta love the versatility with all those Die-namics ;)
Of course I had to make a pink one ;) The background was stamped using another fun stamp from LLD Border It - Mod Borders along with Razzle Berry ink.
I stamped the sentiment from MFT Birthday Sentiments using Razzle Berry ink as well on a die cut oval that was made using a die from Die-namics Blueprints 2 ~ another example of how many versatile dies are included with Die-namics Blueprints 1 and Die-namics Blueprints 2
Last but not least is a card that really just shows off the beautiful coordinated MFT inks, buttons and cardstock. I combined two sentiments from MFT Birthday Sentiments as well as two inks: Kraft ink and Hot Fudge ink which coordinates flawlessly with Kraft cs and Hot Fudge cs.
ALL the die cut pieces were made using Die-namics Blueprints 1 with the exception of the largest Kraft mat which was made using Die-namics Blueprints 2
Many thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my take on clean and simple.
Be sure to visit the MFT blog for a complete list of designers who will be participating today!
Be Sweet ;)

Trio of Mixed Media Tags and a Tutorial 36

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, April 7, 2013 @ 6:23 PM | , , , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you all had a great weekend! Once Tina and I took our early morning bike ride, my family had a relaxing Sunday afternoon at home :) Technically, it's still Day 3 of the MFT April Teasers! You will be able to buy all the new stamps and Die-namics on April 9th at 10 PM EST right HERE at the MFT boutique. Although it's not my assigned day to post, I still have a trio of mixed media tags to share that I made featuring 3 beautiful sentiments included in the LJD Sweet Roses stamp set along with one of the fun designs from LLD Border It - Mod Borders. Since the color pink is one of my personal favorite colors, I'm going to share that one first ;)

The LJD Sweet Roses stamp set is full of sweet roses and MANY versatile sentiments. That is one of the reasons I opted to make a trio of tags :) The first tag features the you're a Sweet friend sentiment from LJD Sweet Roses.
ALL three tags are similar in that each feature a home made canvas rose that was made using Die-namics Layered Rose but nearly all the other embellishments are different. The rose shown on this tag was colored using a combination of MFT Razzle Berry ink and MFT Kraft ink. (Shown below is tutorial).
Up next is a tag featuring the Thank You sentiment from LJD Sweet Roses along with a Orange Fizz canvas rose. I randomly stamped on the tags using one of the fun images from LLD Border It - Mod Borders.
What's not to love about the look of Orange Fizz and Kraft together? :)
Last but not least is a tag featuring the Hello sentiment from LJD Sweet Roses along with a Blu Raspberry canvas rose.
Each tag also features a die cut border made using one of the dies from Die-namics Open Simply Scallops Trio.
In case you were curious to know how I created the canvas roses featured on my tags, here is a tutorial:
Step 1: Die cut canvas using Die-namics Layered Rose.
Step 2: Mix a several drops of preferred MFT ink in a mister and mix with about a Tablespoon of water. ***Test for desired color. NOTE: The richer the color desired use less water and more ink***
Orange Fizz and Kraft MFT Razzle Berry ink MFT Kraft ink. (Shown below is tutorial).
Step 3: Once dry, layer and attach using a brad.
To create the texture on the tags, I mixed a small amount of Gesso with Molding paste, then randomly applied using a piece of mesh for the design.
Once molding paste mixture was dry, I misted the tags using the same colors as were used to create the roses.
I also custom colored coordinating ribbon for the tags using Kraft ink:
Thank you for visiting ~ I hope you enjoyed my tags! I'll be back Tuesday to share a project I made for the New Product Tour.

Be Sweet ;)
Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog to see what the rest of the team has created. You'll also read about some HUGE prizes being given away this week during Teaser Time that you won't want to miss!
