so happy for you 25

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, August 20, 2016 @ 12:18 PM | , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are having a great weekend! Today I have several cards to share featuring a combination of PTI stamp sets along with a variety of MFT dies. While I had the stamps and dies out on my desk, I decided to make three very similar rather clean and simple cards that just need a single postage stamp and on their way they go! I dread going to the post office to have cards weighed. The first one up is for my dear daughter (in law) April who began her student teaching this past week:

next one up is for a dear friend who is so thoughtful and I'm so grateful that she's my friend:
and this one is for my sweet sister Marlene who is always in my thoughts and prayers:

Heartfelt THANKS 25

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, August 6, 2016 @ 12:05 AM | , , , , ,

Hi! It seems like it's been so long since I've inked up stamps and used a die cut machine! I was in need of a thank you card for a dear friend so I kept it rather simple. I combined a few of my favorite PTI stamp sets with a variety of colored cardstock and made this card:
The layered blossom was stamped using stamps from the PTI Sending You stamp set and the sentiment is from the 2009 PTI Everyday Classics stamp set. Oldies but goldies for sure :)

Meet Leo and Congratulations 27

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, March 12, 2016 @ 12:19 PM | ,

Hi there! Today I would like to introduce you to my first grandbaby ~ Leo ;) He's my sweet daughter's 10 week old, 2 pound Pomeranian! I think he is just adorable! Angie lives about 25 miles away from us but works near our home so if I'm home from work, she drops Leo off so I can love him :)
Here's Leo visiting Scott in his work shop:

I have a couple of Congratulations cards to share that I made for my dear DIL, April, and for my son, Jerry. April recently changed jobs for the better and Jerry passed his flight ground school, written exam and practical flying exam to complete his pilot's license:
I recently purchased the bee stamp from the $1 bin at the local craft store and combined several stamps from MFT. The yellow ink is from a SU stamp pad that is over 12 years old and has never been inked!

a sunflower and love 23

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, February 7, 2016 @ 9:52 PM | , , , , ,

Hi! I hope you had a great weekend! I had a lot of fun hiking, biking, painting and paper crafting. It's week 3 in the online painting workshop that I'm currently taking with one of my favorite artists Dreama Tolle Perry. This week we are painting a sunflower along with carnations in a blue jar:
Here's my sample on a 9" x 12" canvas board. I'm going to give this one another go on the same size panel then jump to a "20 x 20" canvas to hang in my studio.

I also created a Valentine's Day card featuring a variety of die cuts, flowers and pretty patterned papers from my stash:
I'm linking my painting to the Paint Party Friday site:

A sweet treat... 29

Mona Pendleton | Friday, February 5, 2016 @ 10:51 PM | , , , , , ,

Hi! I had to take some time to catch up on some DT responsibilities so I had to put my paints and paintbrush aside until tonight! I'm currently taking an online oil painting workshop with one of my favorite artists Dreama Tolle Perry and this week's assignment was to paint cupcake :)
I'm learning so much about color values, contrast, transparent and opaque colors, etc...

I also took the time to create a Valentine's Day card using a fun banner die that I bought nearly a year ago and never used:
