Hi there! I hope you are enjoying the weekend. Last night, Angie and I went to watch the Supercross Motorcycle races live ~ Wow! Talk about excitement! I'm trying to keep up with some sort of weekly art journaling so I joined along with a few challenges to help me stay on track including Brenda's A Visual Journey challenge where anything goes, simply create in a journal and the Compendium of Curiousities 3: Challenge 19 where we are challenged to use Tim Holtz's Frayed Fabric technique while incorporating various Tim Holtz products and Brenda's A Visual Journey c
I made a double page spread in my art journal:
I joined along with the current A Vintage Journey challenge where we are challenged to use a portrait. For the focal point, I layered and stitched the sweet Tim Holtz Found Relative card on a piece of Tim Holtz frayed fabric:
I chose this particular photo because it reminds me of my sister Tina and I (eventhough she is 10 years older than me):
I surrounded the image with lots of texture made using a Tim Holtz heart stencil, texture paste:
The title was spelled out using Tim Holtz chit chat stickers with a touch of Vintage Photo Distress ink applied to the edges:
For color, I used the following Tim Holtz Distress products: Concord Grape, Seedless Preserves and Shaded Lilac:
Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great day!

For color inspiration, I joined along with the current colour me challenge and I'm also linking to the Sunday Stamper challenge where we are challenged to create using hearts along with some rubber stamping ~ (lots of hearts and I used a Tim Holtz Bitty Grunge checkerboard Grunge stamp around the perimeter):Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great day!

Wow Mona, beautiful masterpiece! Love these colors!
I inherited my mother's love of lilac (but I like all the purple hues!), so this project really appealed to me. The textures add so much interest and the hearts are a wonderful representation of the love you feel for your sister. I cherish mine, too!
