Merry Christmas

Good morning all.

I had a lovely long lunch yesterday with my friend, which ended in an impromptu singsong with the four older gents on the table next to us...it was so funny! Luckily my friends husband didn't arrive to pick us up until 5 minutes after the gents left otherwise he may have turned around and left us there!

Another Christmas card today....I think this is the penultimate one.

Sentiment die from Poppy Stamps, die cut with a Spellbinders die and filled with glitter!!! Who's idea this was I'll never know...I really should throw out all my loose glitter as I hate the stuff with a vengeance! Me and the dust are sparkling now.

First Christmas

Good morning all.

It's been a wild and wicked night here, the forecast is sunny today but to stay windy....better keep the hatches battened down!

I've finally made something I can share with you....I've been beavering away in the craft room getting ahead of myself. I'm down to my last 8 Christmas cards and I need an Anniversary card and December will be done and I can then make a start on next year's DT commitments which are due whilst I'm away. Also been called up for Jury service mid December which is also going to put a spanner in the works!!

I sorted all my Christmas cards yesterday to see what sort I still needed to make...this was top of the list to do for my nephew and his family. Penguin die from Marianne Design; accessories from the Tim Holz Crazy Birds set (coloured with promarkers); holly sprig from Poppy Stamps; snow landscape dies from Lawn Fawn; other dies all from Spellbinders. Background has been stamped with snowflakes from STAMPlorations with versamark, then inked with DI. Sentiment stamp from Clearly Besotted, googly eyes from my stash.

HLS Christmas Challenge #2 "Sparkle"

Good evening all.

I've had an afternoon out with my friend today...a facial at the local spa followed by a leisurely lunch....it's always good to put the world to rights!

So pleased to be here sharing some inspiration for the second Christmas challenge at Happy Little Stampers. The theme this month is:

Here is my card:

One of my favourite dies from Poppy Stamps, cut from a Nestie square then mounted to the base card with some double sided foam. I then used red glitter to fill in the die cut blanks. A very simple but effective card and flat enough to post.

Do pop over to the challenge blog to see the inspiration from the rest of the team, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Crafting for all Seasons #105 "Cute and Summery"

Good morning all.

Many thanks for all your lovely comments on yesterday's post, I think I've managed to scrape myself off the ceiling!

Time once again for a new challenge at CFAS, sadly this will be our final challenge as I have decided to step down as Co-Ordinator and none of the team are able to take over. Our theme this time is "Cute and Summery", we're being sponsored by That Craft Place who gave the DT images to work with.

I've opted not to use a sponsor image this time. My card uses the bonus papers from the current Quick Cards Made Easy magazine. I've used a Poppy Stamps background die to make the background, using the inlaid die technique, added some twine and a topper along with a sentiment tag.

Do pop over to the challenge blog to see the inspiration from the other girls, you won't be disappointed.

Challenges entered:
Fan-Tastic Tuesday - anything goes with a touch of  summer
Craft-Dee BowZ - anything goes with a handmade bow

Christmas Card Club "Pink and White"

Good morning all.

Hope everyone is well. Sorry I've been a bit haphazard with my blogging but with holidays coming up I've not had much crafting time...normal service will probably not resume until the end of August now!

So there I was on Tuesday evening all dressed up ready to go to Glasgow...no one picked me up and when I eventually got to speak to my niece she said we've got tickets for tomorrow night!! Duh!! So on Wednesday night I got to see Fleetwood Mac with Christine McVie back in the line up. It was a good night and several degrees cooler in the Hydro than last year's visit to see the Eagles thank goodness.

Another two weeks have passed and it's time to show what I've been up to for the Christmas Card Club. Karen picked the theme this time and she given us the colour combo of "Pink and White", we're allowed to add a small amount of black, silver or gold too.

Another simple card from me....a Poppy Stamps die cut from white card, layered onto pink with one merry filled with a mix of glitter and silver EP. Base card was made with the same pink card.

You'll find a list of all the girls in my side bar if you'd like to go see their interpretation of the challenge...I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Mod Snowflakes

Good morning all.

The clamping and squishing procedure went fine yesterday...straight in and out no messing! Didn't get much done with my domestic goddess hat on so guess what I'll be doing today?

A simple Christmas card to share today...well in theory anyway!

Die is Mod Snowflakes background from Poppy Stamps...it must have taken at least 30 passes to get this cut using the thinnest of card! I tried both the GC and my trusty old Wizard...no joy. I uttered a few naughty words..this didn't help! Then I added a magnetic mat which helped a little but got ruined in the process. I ended up using a craft knife to finish it off eventually.
I emailed the supplier twice about the problem and got no reply so yesterday I eventually phoned them and they're going to replace it with one which they will test first or give me a refund...but I have to send the dud back at my expense! Not great customer service so just as well their prices are keen to start with! Hopefully I just got a duff one as I love the die.
Sentiment is from Penny Black cut twice and layered up for dimension. Topper is attached to base with foam tape and is finished with some gems from my stash.

Merry Christmas

Good morning all.

We had a beautiful sunny day yesterday but very frosty and cold. More food shopping done with a trip to the local butchers and farm shop then a delivery from Tesco. No doubt the cupboards will be bare again in a day or two!

A quick Christmas card to share today, I think I may be making a few of these!

Die is from Poppy Stamps, cut from a white card stock snippet which I've stuck to another piece of card with some double sided tape. Some words are inlaid with green ones cut from snippets, the rest are glittered. Topper is attached to the card base with foam tape.

Shades of Blue

Good morning all.

Another gorgeous sunny day yesterday which turned nasty after dark and blew a right hoolie overnight! After a very lazy morning I did manage to make a pan of soup and some gluten free muffins.

A simple birthday card to share today...could be male or female and would suit any age I think and of course you could customize the colours too.

Die from Poppy Stamps cut with black card and stuck to teal card. I've used snippets of various shades of blue to cut out the circles and these were then inlaid in the black outline. The largest circle has been die cut in white three times and layered up so it stands proud of the card. Sentiment is from LOTV. Topper is attached to the base card with foam tape. A few gems finish the card off.
These dies are a great way to use up your scrap mountains!

Happy Birthday

Good morning all.

Managed to fit some crafting in yesterday, my mojo still wasn't working with the die cuts left out from Tuesday so I changed tack and got another of my new dies out and made a card that does exactly what it says on the tin!

The background die is from Poppy Stamps. I've cut the die from a snippet of thin white card cut to A2 size. I then attached double sided stickly tape to the back of the piece and inlaid some of the words which I'd cut from some snippets of cerise pink  pearlised card. The rest of the words were then filled with silver glitter (note to self please use the static duster thing first next time!). Both me and the craft room are sparkling like Christmas fairies now! I backed the piece with another snippet of thin white card and mounted to the grey card base with foam tape.
I was going to add some bling but decided it had enough sparkle already.

This is going to be a go to die...I love the result and of course you end up with lots of useful die cut sentiments ready for another card.

Less is More - pink and grey
