Christmas Card Club "Stars"

Good morning all.

Gosh where are the weeks going to...another two of them have passed and it's time once again for our little Christmas Card Club to strut their stuff! Mrs A has asked us for some "Stars" this time.

My star is from Clarity stamps and I've stamped in versamark and heat embossed with gold detail EP, die cut with a square nestie and matted onto a gold mirri square then onto a black base card. Tag sentiment stamps are from LOTV and they've also been heat embossed in gold and tied around the layers with black and gold cord. Card is finished with some black gems.

Challenges entered:
Less is More - use a tag
Addicted to CAS - black, white and gold
CHNC - 20 minutes or less
...luckily this card was one which came together first time and therefore was made in about 15 minutes.
CHNC Extra - anything Christmas goes

Winter Jornalling

Good morning all.

Many thanks to all who have visited over the weekend and left such lovely comments, I do appreciate them all.

A quiet day yesterday...more washing and some much needed ironing!

Sharing one of the projects I managed to do on Saturday. One of my goals this year was to do some journalling...here is one of my first attempts.

I started by gluing some torn book pages and backing paper to the pages. Pages were then roughly gessoed then I've stencilled with embossing paste using a snowflake stencil from Joanna Sheen and a snowflower one from Sweet Stamps. I used glitter bead gel with a stencil from Clarity stamps which didn't work as planned....but what the heck! Punch waste snowflakes were used across the pages.

Pages were then washed with aquatints with a darker ink being used over the embossing paste. Stamps from Clearly Besotted, Personal Impressions, Paper Smooches, Premium Craft Brands and Stamping All Day were stamped with Memento ink.

Winter was computer generated and printed onto tissue paper. Snowflakes were leftovers from a previous project and were lying in my bit box.

Ornate star

Love this stamp from Clarity and I've stamped and embossed it in blue and matted onto blue stardream card. Card is finished with some tartan ribbon (covering up a badly stamped sentiment!) and a sentiment. My stamping is definitely having an off day today.

Challenges entered:
Less is More - stars
Crafts and Me - winter blues
Charismas Cards - anything goes

Vintage Father Christmas

The gorgeous Father Christmas stamp is from La Blanche and has been stamped in brown Versafine ink then cut out using a nestie label die which I've distressed with gold ink, TH tea dye and edged with the brown versafine. The backing paper is a gold embossed vellum from my stash which I've aged with some brown versafine and edged with gold ink. I've edged the base card with gold ink too. Card is finished with a ribbon and a Clarity stamp star which has been stamped and embossed with gold EP then layered for dimension.

Challenges entered:
Winter Wonderland - Santa Claus is coming to town
Stamp Something - anything goes
Anything Goes - vintage or shabby chic
Pink Elephant - vintage
Paper Creations Ink - vintage or distressed

Seeing double again

Woke up with a cracking sore throat this morning and now I'm streaming.........just dosed with paracetamol and now drinking hot honey and lemon before I go to bed.
Spent the evening getting messy in the craft room. Bought a brayer from Joanna Sheen this week (amongst other things) and decided to try it out. Believe me when I say I'd absolutely no idea what I was doing but I decided to follow Tara's tutorial on how to do a mirror image and also to brayer my Big and Juicy ink pad. After several practises I ended up with this using a Words with Honey stamp and masking a section with a deckled edge nestie rectangle waste then brayering with a big and juicy ink pad:

Not perfect but I thought not bad for someone who didn't know what the heck she was doing!

Also made this with a new Clarity stamp and a bit of masking:

Challenges entered:
Less is More - seeing double
Christmas card only
Samuel Taylors - Christmas card using rubber stamp
Fresh Brewed - something new ( stamps)

Romance may not be dead

But it sure ain't alive and kicking around these parts! Today was our 23rd Anniversary, there were no flowers or jewels, the card was finally written at teatime but I did get taken to the garden centre where there was a Docraft demo on and was left to browse undisturbed, then a fish supper for tea - oh well a girl can't have everything lol
Well over in Limette land this week we're seeing double.

This card has taken me all night to produce, it was such a simple idea which just wouldn't execute itself. This is my ninth attempt and I've simply stamped black on white as I couldn't find the right medium to colour with.
The Happy Birthday is from Clarity stamps and the perfume bottle from Creative Expressions. I've popped a black gem in the two corners to finish off.

Challenges entered:
Less is More - seeing double
Little Claires - black and white
Paper Play  - 2 or more stamped images
