Violet Crush

Man, have I been busy with orders lately! So I have to keep the creative juices flowing! Here is another 21st album for a client. The client's brief was vintage with purple and dragon flies. Too easy? Well, it didn't take me long to find the perfect Kaisercraft collection for this - Violet Crush. The rest was too easy, although I had to order some dragonfly stamps as I didn't have any. Here is the album and the matching card I made with this week's Retro Sketch. This album is on the way to Queensland right now, hope Taleah likes it!

Another Vintage 21st Guest Album

I recently received another order for a 21st Birthday Guest album. This is my fourth order this year! For those who know me, I love making cards and only dabble in scrapbooking or off the page projects. This album is within my comfort zone as the area to decorate is not too large! I used 6.5x6.5 papers from several Kaisercraft collections to make this album - I have to do this as I cannot use a heavy patterned paper inside the album. The name and the wooden numbers were painted with Tim Holtz distress crackle paint and layers of distress inks, paints were used to produce the final result. The inside pages were stamped with Ranger Archival Coffee using a variety of stamps in my collection (too many to list individually). The antique key is from Maya Road and the embellishments from Kaisercraft. I'm adding this to Simon Says Stamp's Anything Goes Challenge. The album is off in the post to Queensland, hope Sarah likes it! Sorry this is a photo heavy blog post!!

21st Album for Chelsey

I'm on a roll with these 21st guest albums! I made one for my niece last year for her 21st, not with the intention of making more for private orders. Lo and behold, this is the third order in the last 6 weeks!  Nevertheless, I've enjoyed making them, but I've now used up all my Tim Holtz Ideology keys! This order is from Western Australia and the specifications were black/white and red 1920's vintage. So I'm thinking tassells, feathers, pearls, Great Gatsby, silver and gems. After a couple of consultation with paper design selections, I decided on the Kaisercraft Timeless Vintage Black and White for the inside pages and After Five for the cover. The accents are from the Porcelain Rose collection (I love the flowers and birds in this collection). I had a bit of problem with two different sized papers 6x6 and 6.5x6.5 which I solved with matting with the 6.5x6.5 on the front. The inside pages are all 6.5x6.5. There is room inside the covers for photos to be added (I added extra papers for mats and embellishments to adhere over the photos). Hope Chelsey likes it, her party is at the end of this month! I've ordered more vintage keys and they've just arrived... so I'm ready for the next order!

I'm submitting this project into Simon Says Stamp and Show A Little Stamping and Die Cut Diva's July Summer Flowers challenge. Just a reminder that I have just started a FB fanpage, please click link on sidebar and 'Like'. I'll be sharing my works in progress, finished projects, links to giveaways and tutorials there. Thanks for dropping by!

A bird eyes view of the album, 8 pages on one side and 6 on the other.

The inside covers are for photos to be added later.

The rest of the pages are for guests to sign and write messages.

21st Guest Album for Darcie

Not long after I finished the 21st album for Danielle, I received an email request for another one! The design of the album was based on the original one I did last year for my niece Sarah. The album contains 14 concertina pages (15x15cm) for signing and it is totally handmade! The specifications for Darcie's album is the same 'Tiffany' colours as Danielle's album but with more pinks and no lace and not too busy. It took me a long while to track down the wooden number laser cut-outs as I bought the last '1' in the Kaisercraft shop last time! Two Spotlight shops later, I found some in Bunnings and bought 2 sets (just in case, for next time)!!
I used the Kaisercraft True Romance 6x6 papers for the album pages inside and Kaisercraft Porcelain Rose on the front cover. I just love these Kaisercraft collections! I'm submitting this project to Simon Says Stamp's Anything Goes challenge and Simon Says Stamp and Show's Anything Goes challenge.
Here is my album, hope Darcie likes it!

The front and back were covered with 12x12 and the cover with 6x6 paper.

Close up of the key and the embossing on the numbers and name.

The front 4 pages on opening is made with one sheet of cardboard and scored at intervals.

The next 4 pages is on another sheet, joined in the middle, plenty of room for signatures and messages.

The back of the album consists of 6 pages, the join in the cardboard is hidden by using a patterned paper banner.

The rest of the back of the album - more room for lots of messages and signatures for Darcie!

Danielle's 21st Album and Card

I received an order for a 21st album a few weeks ago. Danielle liked the album I made for my niece Sarah and wanted something similar for her 21st party and she wanted the theme colour to be turquoise and vintage style and also enough room for about 80 guests to sign. I added pink as the contrast colour. The album is done in the same way I did Sarah's but this time, I used Kaisercraft papers and they are sightly larger than the My Minds Eyes papers I used last time. The numbers were painted and then embossed with silver (I love this effect).  Quite a variety of stamps we're used - I think I have covered them all in the list below. I also made a card to match for Danielle. As this is going to be a lengthy post, the card is shown first. The card will be submitted to Inspired Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday, CAS-ual Fridays Banners and Flags and the album for Simon Says Stamp's S Challenge (S for Stamping) and The Twinery's Twine Madness challenge. Thanks for dropping by!

Happy 21st Album

I had a very short time to make a 21st birthday guest book for my niece. I am currently on holiday in Thailand and Malaysia and Sarah's 21st is the week after we get back. A quick idea was to use some beautiful 6x6 My Mind's Eyes patterned pads. I selected two pads which had a lot of neutral backgrounds with room for signing. These were glued down to a two strips of 16cm scored cardstock - 16 x 64 cm with a 1cm overlap. The pieces were folded into a concertina with the overlap glued down. The album covers were made from two pieces of 7inch squared cardboard. They were covered with musical wrapping paper which Sarah bought from Florence for me last year. Before glueing the covers down, I attached strips of ribbons in between. These will be used to tie the album down. I decorated the cover with laser cut wooden letters painted with acrylic paint, covered with Distress Rock Candy and coloured with distress re-inkers and the embellishments were fussy cut and stamped. The rest of the card is below. I will be submitting this into Simon Says stamp - Anything But a Card challenge. Thanks for dropping by!
