Nerdy Cards

OK, I'll admit it, working in Medical Science and with computers - I'm a nerd!! I love making cards and even better when I make ones closer to home! This nerdy card of mine got recently published in September issue of Papercrafts and Scrapbooking (pg 56)!

PCS is running a September Nerdy Challenge on Flickr and here is my submission made for a farewell for one of my staff at work. I'm also adding this card to A Blog Named Hero Challenge #51 - Spell It Out For Me. Thanks for dropping by!

I made a matching envelope to hold the gift cards as well! Photo taken in my section of the laboratory.

Published in Cards May Issue

I'm finally able to blog my card that was published last month in Northridge Publications CARDS magazine. You can find my card on page 34 of the magazine. The category for this card submission was under 'Style Challenge'- Chevrons, Yellow, Turqoise and Coral.
I don't have the actual magazine yet, but managed to download the online version so that I can see my card (this is my first publication in Cards magazine, Yay!). I have another card in the July issue of Cards on pg 30. I won't be able to share it until August.
An update on my Kaisercraft DT submission. I found out that I was not successful in Round 2 but was elated to find out that I was in the Top 20 to get into Round 2 in the first place! Nevermind, I had fun making the projects which I can't share yet until the collections are released. Stay tuned!
Big Hugs to Lin for sending me a scan of the magazine!

Published!

Hi All! I finally received my Card Creations magazine last week and also bought a copy of Australian Simply Cards from the local Newsagent. I love my first ever Paper Crafts Special Issue Magazine - all the photos inside are beautifully taken and there are two photos per page. My card entitled 'Beautiful Birthday' can be found on page 32 of Card Creations. I feel so honoured to be published along side some great names in the industry! Here is my card (I had to check all the fine print whether or not it can be blogged, and I also wanted to wait until I got the magazine).

The other magazine is Australian Simply Cards, issue 53. Last year, I picked up a magazine from the Newsagent with the intention of finding out how I can submit cards for publication. Instead I submitted 3 cards (Embellishments, Tools and Templates and Stamping Categories) for a Cardmaker of the Year Competition and came Runner Up. I'm still waiting for my prize worth $300 to arrive.
Don't forget to leave a comment on my One Year Blogversary Blog for a chance to win some prizes, you have until Easter Sunday to comment. I will draw a random winner on Easter Monday!

First Publication!

I was so excited after a weekend away in Sydney to find that a magazine had arrived on Friday. On page 89 of the Australian Cardmaking Stamping and Papercraft magazine (18/8) is a card by yours truly (top left). This card was made with my favourite Hero Arts Stamp (Antique Flowers and Butterflies) and papers from My Mind's Eyes (Lost and Found 2). This was submitted a few months ago and was accepted for publication. Yay! My first publication!!
