Chinese Wedding card with MME

I love making wedding cards for Asian weddings. I have used this pair of stamps over and over again ever since I bought it 3 years ago! This is for a wedding I'm in Malaysia this week using My Minds Eyes The Sweetest Thing. I'm adding this to the MME May Challenge - use enamel dots in a creative way. Thanks for dropping by.

Fusion Card Challenge #5

It's been a little while since my last post. I've been busy with a lot of other activities in my life and blogging ends up at the bottom of the pile! I have got a Chinese wedding card to share using my favourite Hero Arts stamps again. I've done so many versions of these stamps, I've lost count. They are my favourite stamps for Chinese weddings! The design of the card is based on the current Fusion Challenge sketch. The wave at the bottom (although the bow covers it) is done with the Memory box Modern Landscape Border die (flipped). Looking forward to a wedding this weekend! Thanks for dropping by!

Two Wedding Cards

Here are a couple of wedding cards that I have made that I have not posted yet. One is for an Asian couple and the other an Aussie couple, so both are quite different. For the Asian couple, I used my favourite Hero Arts Asian Dolls (these were my first HA stamps) and this time, I tried colouring their faces for the very first time. I usually use cream card stock so that I don't have to colour their faces.

The second card was made a while ago for a publication submission. This was made by stamping the rose on three different pattened papers and pieced together afterwards. I just love this rose stamp and I have made a few cards with this stamp. It's World Cardmaking day today, but I've been too busy with household duties to make any cards. I am enjoying all the beautiful cards posted today on all the Blog Hops around the world! Happy WCMD everyone!!
Edited To Add - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Use a Rubber or Clear Stamp

Asian Wedding Dolls

I got out my Hero Arts Asian Dolls stamps for a play today. I used the sketch from Cardabilities and the Basic Grey True Love collection (perfect for an Asian wedding card). Here is my lovely couple dressed in BG True Love! I mixed up stamps from 3 different companies, just for a bit of a change and also because they fell in quite nicely together. I'm also submitting this to Simon Says Stamp's Celebrate challenge. By the way, has anyone seen the August issue of Cards magazine? You can find my sketch card on page 68. Now that the August issue is out, I guess I can show my card from the July issue. I'll do that tomorrow.
Thanks for dropping by!

Chinese Wedding Dolls

We just came back from another wedding in Malaysia after a week long holiday at Paradise Koh Yao resort on an island off Phuket. I made this wedding card and 'Red Packet' with a Japanese and Chinese theme as the groom is half Japanese and half Chinese. I used the Hero Arts dolls and dressed them up in Basic Grey Serendipity. The flowers were overstamped with a Japanese script. This pattern was repeated in the Hero Arts Big Flowers and in the strips on the inside of the card and on the envelope. A red double happiness and Sakura flowers finished off the stamp nicely. Details of the card are below and photos from the wedding and our trip after that. For details of how to make the 'Red Packet' - see my previous blog.

Ingredients:
Cardstock - Neenah Natural White and red cardstock
Paper - Basic Grey Serendipity
Stamps - Hero Arts LP146, CG290 and Kaisercraft Japanese script (I think)
Ink - Ranger Archival Jet Black
Others - Double Happiness Punch, Nestability Scalloped Square die, Kaisercraft pearls, Sakura punch

This was the second wedding reception as Makoto and Melissa live in Singapore and the first reception was the week before. We are friends of the groom's family and their hometown is in Muar, Malaysia, halfway between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. We were asked to participate in the traditional tea ceremony, held before the reception. Melissa wore a beautiful traditional Chinese wedding outfit during the ceremony. Afterwards, she got changed into a traditional white wedding dress.

This is my second trip to Muar, we only stayed for a day during our last visit two years ago. I got to see more of the city this trip and I loved walking around taking photos of all the old shop houses and signboards. Hope you enjoy some scenes from Muar. Sorry for the long blog, but I just had to share some of the lovely photos I took.

A happy parcel awaited my return on the weekend. My winning prize from the Basic Grey Scraplift Challenge, result blogged on Basic Grey! I cannot wait to start crafting again!! Thanks Melanie for the great prize!!
