Billowing Peonies

When I saw this new Altenew set, it was hard to resist the temptation to 'Add to Cart'! When the set arrived, I fell in love with how beautiful the whole bundle was! I spent a whole rainy Saturday to stamp and colour these beautiful peonies. The first card was based on the current Altenew June Inspiration Challenge. I had a lot of fun lining up the stencils, but not too difficult to do. One of these is off to a very special friend who is not too well at moment, hope she likes it! I'm also linking this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Bright and Cheerful. Thanks for dropping by!

Materials used:
Stamps: Altenew Billowing Peonies, Get Well Soon
Stencil: Altenew Billowing Peonies
Inks: Altenew, Distress Sprays, Perfect Pearls

Altenew Inspiration - A Touch of Winter

I just love this stencil that I recently received from Altenew. The image is just gorgeous with any combination of colours. Here's my take on this month's Altenew Inspiration Challenge - A touch of winter. Mind you, we just had a heat wave in Melbourne over the weekend! Making this card, makes me think of cooler weather!

Card for Baby Sophie

This is a card for my neighbour's newborn baby girl. I've used patterned papers from Kaisercraft to stamp and diecut the elements for the card. The alphabets were stacked with 3 layers of cardstock and the flowers and leaves were stamped and then diecut. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we have not seen Sophie yet, hope to meet her soon! Hope everyone is well!

85th Birthday card for my Mum

During these unusual times, it’s so hard to celebrate special events. Months ago my sister and I chatted about how we were going to celebrate Mum’s special day. My project at work was supposed to Go-Live on the same weekend! Well guess what? My project was delayed by 3 months and we couldn’t celebrate my Mum’s birthday properly. We did however, made the day special for her by getting take-away Dim Sum for her, followed by a visit to her backyard, singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to her. Once we can go out to restaurants again, we will go out for a big family dinner!
This card is an extra large A5 card with a bit of masking and distress oxide inks. Thanks for dropping by!

Flower Power

I'm back with another card using the colours of the Altenew April Inspiration Challenge, using a technique that was demonstrated by Lydia Evans from Lydia's Crafty Corner last year. I just love these diecuts and have used them in various ways ever since I got them. The  background was created with distress inks to match the colours from the challenge. This was overlaid with a panel with the flowers cut out as windows. Thank you for dropping by! Hope everyone is staying safe!

Easter Cards 2020

Hope everyone is well. I have three Easter cards to share. I stamped all the roses a couple of weeks ago with my Misti and then fussy cut them for a rainy day. Due to still working despite the COVID-19 restrictions, I have been rather busy on my weekends off with some much needed household maintenance and cleaning. I has lucky to have a day off this week and decided to put these flowers to good use! I was inspired by Tim Holtz Facebook Live videos over the last two weekends and decided to use my distress inks and oxides to some good use! All three cards started with some texture paste background, then a mixture of distress oxides and inks and lots of water. I used water colour card stock for the first two cards and Neenah card stock for the last one. I decided to keep the last one CAS with only just a splatter of white paint. I love the different looks of all three cards! Which one do you prefer? Hope everyone is staying home to fight this dreadful virus! Stay safe!

Winter Rose Love

I'm back with a couple of cards I made recently. I massed produced this by stamping out all the roses first in various colours and then fussy cutting them out. I then stamped the background leaves before adhering onto the card with a bit of glitter tape on the edge. They were so quick to put together and I've already sent away four of them! Thanks for dropping by!

First Post for 2019!

It’s been a really busy and crazy two months for me and I’m so glad to finally find time and energy to make a couple of cards. As all my followers know, I usually make at least two cards every time I have to make one. Why not? When you have all the materials out! I’ve decided to use the current CAS(E) this Sketch sketch and the wonderful Washi tapes from Altenew to make these cards. So they were quick to make!

September Inspiration

It's been a while since I've blogged. So to make up for the long absence, I made a series of cards last weekend as I'm running out of birthday cards! Yes, it has finally caught up with me! I decided to try a cotton blend water colour card for the flowers which were stamped in black and loosely water coloured with my new Altenew Pan set. The background was inked with stencils and then splattered with more paint. The flowers were splattered with white paint from my Gansai Tambi water colours. Thanks for dropping by!

Wedding Card

I have a wedding card to share which was made at a recent craft retreat. The dies I used were borrowed and I had fun cutting and colouring them with Copic markers before glueing all the layers together. The background was created using Texture paste and a stencil.
