Rosco's 3rd Birthday!!

On April 11th we celebrated Rosco's 3rd Birthday!!!! What better way to celebrate then with dog cake? I whipped up a doggy carrot cake topped with melted peanut butter and tiny dog bone cereal. It actually doesn't look that appetizing, but since it's all people food... I tasted it. Very bland. But not bad for a dog cake!
We cut up his cake and brought it outside... and yes, we even sung Happy Birthday!!!
He stole it right out of the bowl before Dax even had a change to walk down the steps and give it to him. He looked like he got away with murder!!
He enjoyed it. He ate every last bite.
I've noticed since he has gotten older he is becoming more calm, which I love!!
He's such a good dog. We are happy to have him.

My Boys Photoshoot!!! 2012

I borrowed my friend Tania's camera to take some photo's of my kids. I originally was trying to get pictures of them for a suprise for Brett. I had good intentions of recoloring them for Christmas and making this square wall hanging. I was over budget and this little project got put on hold. Maybe one day! Anyways, I still love the way the pictures turned out, so of course I had to blog about it!!! Enjoy them. I have. I took about a bazillion pictures but these are some of my favorites. These boys really know how to shine when the camera is on. They are silly, funny, and just darling.
Tanner was really not sure about the photo shoot. It was bright outside. And he had his first encounter with grass. I'm surprised he didn't cry. I don't think he loved it, but he was a good sport!
I love the three boys together. They are just so silly. I'm lucky to have them. As crazy as these 3 little boys make me, I'm so dang lucky to have them. I'm honored to be their mamma!
Have you ever tried taking a picture of a dog? It's hard. Not gonna lie! But I got a couple good ones.
It was pretty fun chasing after these kiddos snapping pictures all around the yard. I'm sure it provided great entertainment for whatever neighbors happened to be watching!

Rosco Boy, just hanging around

We all love our dog. He's pretty funny. I'm not sure why, but he loves "hanging around!" Honest. He lays on top of his dog house for long periods of time. It doesn't look comfortable... but I can't say I've tried it either.
Dax just loves Rosco. He's constantly getting into the pantry finding treats for him. Then he stands by the back door saying, "Rosco? Outside! Treat!" We let him out and he toddles out to the cage and gets so excited to give him a bone. If Rosco doesn't eat it right away, Dax shouts at him, pointing for him to eat it. (Dax tries to keep us all in line!) He's so pleased after Rosco gobbles up his treat!
Dax talks about Rosco all the time. A lot of his things he is trying to say include Rosco and Isaac's name! The kid is fearless. He doesn't care of Rosco licks his face. (I care more then him!) He loves this dog.

A New Family Member... Rosco P. Coaltrain!

We've all been pretty sad not having a dog in our family so when we heard Brett's friend, Ty was having his last batch of AKC Lab puppies, we couldn't pass up getting a new puppy for our family. They were born, April 11, 2010. We went to see them and in this batch they had black and yellow/white puppies. Brett really wanted a boy this time. (Because I'm not outnumbered as it is at my house!) But we fell in love with the black little puppies.

Isaac holding the puppies.

Dax was happily sleeping when he had his first experience with a dog waking him up and licking him!

It must have not phased him. Dax LOVES dogs. He couldn't get enough of grabbing at them. We went through several names trying to decide the best name. Brett loved Rosco and Rambo. I loved Oreo and Oakley. And Isaac liked Scout and Brrrruuuucccce! (Like the shark off Nemo. And yes, you had to say it like that!) We put the names in a bowl, did a poll of who liked what best, cheated at grabbing names out of the bowl, but when it came down to it, we liked Rosco. Rosco P. Coaltrain is his full name. He's a beautiful black lab who has a lot of spunk! We brought him home at 7 weeks. Isaac held him the whole way home.

Brett's really thrilled to have a pup again! He really loves having a dog.

I have to admit, I love it to.

Rosco plopped right down by Dax, he wasn't sure for a minute.

But they quickly became friends.

We loved watching Isaac with him. There is nothing like watching a boy and his dog. Rosco would chase Isaac everywhere he went. Isaac has adored him and gives him anything he needs.

After his first bath, Isaac gave him a new blanket and a stuffed cow. Rosco has loved the cow. He pulls it in and out of his dog house with him and lays on him to sleep. (Rosco is 12 weeks old now and we have sewed parts of the cow back together, but he whimpers if I take him away.)

Rosco has been a really great dog. The first night, he slept so good until 4 am. Then he was awake and wanted to play. We didn't want the crying to wake up the neighbors, so Brett and I took turns running up and down the street to ware him out. The rest of the week we kept him inside cause he was such a whiner, but now that he's used to life and us, he's a pretty happy camper.

We have loved watching the boys play with Rosco. They have become good little friends!

One of Isaac's favorite things to do is to ride his bike and have Rosco chase him. It's seriously the cutest thing ever! Rosco is getting faster, but for now it's just too cute to watch.

Daxton can't get enough of him! He squeals and reaches for Rosco every time he sees him.

Brett has loved training Rosco. He listens quite well! He really hated his leash at first. We had a good chuckle over Isaac trying to make him walk because Rosco would bite the leesh and pull it back.

And the best part, our neighbors got two new puppies and they have already made friends with Rosco! We have just loved our pup. He has made us very happy!
