I can't believe my Daxton is already 3!!! I feel like I just barley brought him home from the hospital. He makes us laugh. He talks so much and has so much to say about everything. I was worried after a long night of Trick or Treating he would be so tired, but when he woke up he was all smiles!
He saw his birthday banner and he was so excited! Dax always looks so delighted that someone does something special for him... it makes everything so worth it! (Like staying up till all hours making a cake and decorating!!) Dax ran through his balloons and played with them, it made me smile.
He wanted a Mickey Mouse cake... again... he had one when he was one (that was of course my choice) but he loves Mickey Mouse so much! I attempted to make Mickeys face, it's a little fatter Mickey head, but he seemed to love it!
I had a tiny bit of frosting to finish in the morning so Dax jumped in and helped me decorate cupcakes!! He put a pile of frosting on and a bunch of m&ms. It was a delicious breakfast.
Dax and I surprised Isaac and checked him out of school to go play at Kangaroo Zoo! Dax loves this place and I am amazed at how well he does climbing all the bouncy houses! He was pretty fast and good at keeping up with Isaac.
I have to laugh at how much he loves the biggest slide there. He can climb it so easily! Him and Isaac are so light they just sail down so fast!!! I love their expressions coming down the slide.
Last time we came Dax was terrified of the dinosaur mouth slide. There was noway he would walk anywhere near it. He would go out of his way and stick to the farthest wall following it all around the tables that parents sit at just to reach me. Guess the big teeth can be intimidating! Isaac convinced him somehow to go down the slide with him. He was a bit scared he was inside the mouth but when we showed him it was all pretend he seemed to warm up to it a bit more. I was proud of him for getting over his little fear.
Tanner wasn't as active as the other boys! He slept most of the time.
After playing there all afternoon... and basically having the whole place to ourselves, the boys worked up an appetite. Dax wanted one of his favorite meals, PIZZA! He loves pizza.
Now it was time for presents and cake!! We invited his best friend Taylor over.
Isaac gave him a monster truck with a trailer and Taylor gave him a pretty awesome guitar!
Dax's big present was a Thomas remote control train. He loves trains and was so excited!!! It works awesome, especially on the hard wood floors. It took us a few weeks to show him if you add distilled water into the top of him he blows steam (like a humidifier) and has a blue light. That was icing on the cake of a very cool train. It has been such a great toy.
His last present I bought because I just couldn't help myself. For a little boy who loves Mickey Mouse I really felt like he needed a decent sized Mickey stuffed animal, not the teeny tiny one he stole from my moms house. I originally was going to buy a 4 foot giant one from Costco, but Brett vetoed that idea. I'm glad too, because if he ever got thrown up on, I'm not sure how I would have washed him. This Mickey was the perfect size, big but not too big. I have to say once again, his enthusiasm did not disappoint when he opened him! He hugged Mickey like it was his long lost friend. He sleeps with him every night now.
Cake time!!! My camera was dying at this point so I was so glad Natalie helped take some pictures. Dax blew (maybe spit a little) out his his candles... he was so proud.
The cake was yummy, he had chosen a confetti cake.

It was a successful birthday! Natalie sent me this darling picture of him and Taylor. I love that these two are best friends. When they see each other, they open their arms wide, run to each other and hug. It's seriously the cutest thing you have ever seen.
He was pretty tuckered out by the end of the night! Goodnight my sweet 3 year old!
Birthday fun didn't end there, we continued the fun later that week at Grandma Nancy and Grandpa LaMonte's house. Brett had to go out of town but we txted him a lot of pictures.
Nancy made him a delicious chocolate cake...before he blew out the candles he had touched the frosting and wiggled his fingers at me showing me the gooey chocolate. He took a huge breath to blow out his candles, you would have thought his cake was a giant fire!
Grandma's present looked gigantic all wrapped up! I think it was almost as big as him. She gave him a big truck that you could load cars into the back. He loved it!!! He manages to stuff a lot of cars inside the truck to carry around the house.
He had a great time and he laughed a lot. I really don't know what I would do without this little boy. He's full of spunk and energy! He has the best imagination. If he doesn't have something to play with, it doesn't matter he will use his hands. One day I heard him using his fingers as people saying one was sick and needed to go to the Dr. He can play for hours in his room. He will lay on the floor and play cars on his rugs. I don't know if it's because he is a 2nd child, but it's been fun to see how he can entertain himself!
He loves the water. He strips at any given minute just so I will stick him in a tubby... which he can play in until the water gets cold, and even then it's hard to get him out. He also loves showers, which is nice to throw both boys in to get them clean. He says funny things to me all the time like, "I think that's crazy mom!" He loves singing. My favorite is when he sings, "teeter totter lemon water!" As it got closer to Christmas he would open his arms wide and sing "Merry Christmas" over and over again!
At his Dr. apt he was a perfect angel and did everything they asked him to do. He chatted with Dr. Wilcox like they were good friends. He weighed almost 30 lbs putting him into the 31st%/ He was 35 inches tall, putting him in the 13th%. Guess he can blame being shorter on his mom! If you ask him his name he will tell you "Doodle or Doodle Daxton." I never though about a nick name being confusing to a 3 year old. He also refers to himself as "yellow owl." Because we put him on Tanner's wall as the yellow owl, it is now his favorite color. Anything yellow that he chooses he says, "It's because I'm yellow owl!" I think it's darling!! I'm sure it will work it's self out!
He adores his dad... seriously Brett has to do everything for him and with him. He went through a phase of not eating by himself, so Brett would have to feed him. Brett had to put him to bed. Basically, if he needs something, he yells for his dad. (I have to say I don't mind that... especially when he wakes up at 3 AM!!!) He hated Brett being gone and "working on a plane" but he was thrilled when he came home and brought him and Isaac a Chicago Bears T-Shirt!
Happy Birthday Doodle Bop!!! We love you so much!!!
