Daxton Doings

Dax keeps me... busy... very busy. His little feet run faster then he can keep up with! He's a mischievous little boy. Our toilet paper on any given day looks like this...
I hope he will outgrow the fun of unrolling a roll of toilet paper one day.
He helped me decorate the Christmas tree. He had to wear his sunglasses because he said, "the tree is so bright mom, it hurts my eyes!!!" Then he would look directly at the tiny tree lights. He loves being my helper in the day. He's always willing to help me decorate, clean, do laundry and his and my favorite ... cook! I sometimes think he could become a great chef because of how much he loves to help me in the kitchen. Sometimes he gets sad because he can't go with Dad and Isaac everywhere. He has learned mom will make cookies or his favorite, muffins with him when they are out doing a big boy activity. It's fun for me though, I love that time with him.
I had a bunch of errands at the mall one day and as a reward Dax could choose to ride the carousel or the train. For sure I thought he would choose the train, but he chose the carousel and had a ball on it. As we were leaving he said, "let's go ride the train!" I tried to explain how he chose to ride something else. His face was so heartbreaking we ended up at .... the train!!!
We now have a card and we are frequent riders of the little mall express. He sure loves this train. One day Brett and I are going to take him on the frontrunner. I bet he would love being on a big train!

Brett always said he wanted one child to sleep well. Isaac is more like me. He never settles down enough to just fall asleep. Dax is Brett's dream sleeper. Most nights he goes into his bed and tucks his little hands under his head and lays down and falls asleep. Other nights he is so exhausted he just passes out and we find him flopped all over his bed.
Then there are the days that he is so tired he can't last till bedtime and he just passes out playing on the floor. Poor baby. He's such a big boy and yet he's still so little he can't keep up with everything he wants to do.
Dax looks up to Isaac and his Dad. He wants to do everything they do and he hates missing out if he can help it. Dax is a good friend. He is sweet and kind. He is a tease, did I mention that? He's silly and he thinks he's pretty funny. He is... good thing he's so cute. He has big beautiful brown eyes that melts my heart and I give into him more often then not. He's just too cute!

Happy 3rd Birthday Doodle Bop!

I can't believe my Daxton is already 3!!! I feel like I just barley brought him home from the hospital. He makes us laugh. He talks so much and has so much to say about everything. I was worried after a long night of Trick or Treating he would be so tired, but when he woke up he was all smiles!
He saw his birthday banner and he was so excited! Dax always looks so delighted that someone does something special for him... it makes everything so worth it! (Like staying up till all hours making a cake and decorating!!) Dax ran through his balloons and played with them, it made me smile.
He wanted a Mickey Mouse cake... again... he had one when he was one (that was of course my choice) but he loves Mickey Mouse so much! I attempted to make Mickeys face, it's a little fatter Mickey head, but he seemed to love it!

I had a tiny bit of frosting to finish in the morning so Dax jumped in and helped me decorate cupcakes!! He put a pile of frosting on and a bunch of m&ms. It was a delicious breakfast.
Dax and I surprised Isaac and checked him out of school to go play at Kangaroo Zoo! Dax loves this place and I am amazed at how well he does climbing all the bouncy houses! He was pretty fast and good at keeping up with Isaac.
I have to laugh at how much he loves the biggest slide there. He can climb it so easily! Him and Isaac are so light they just sail down so fast!!! I love their expressions coming down the slide.
Last time we came Dax was terrified of the dinosaur mouth slide. There was noway he would walk anywhere near it. He would go out of his way and stick to the farthest wall following it all around the tables that parents sit at just to reach me. Guess the big teeth can be intimidating! Isaac convinced him somehow to go down the slide with him. He was a bit scared he was inside the mouth but when we showed him it was all pretend he seemed to warm up to it a bit more. I was proud of him for getting over his little fear.
Tanner wasn't as active as the other boys! He slept most of the time.
After playing there all afternoon... and basically having the whole place to ourselves, the boys worked up an appetite. Dax wanted one of his favorite meals, PIZZA! He loves pizza.
Now it was time for presents and cake!! We invited his best friend Taylor over.

Isaac gave him a monster truck with a trailer and Taylor gave him a pretty awesome guitar!
Dax's big present was a Thomas remote control train. He loves trains and was so excited!!! It works awesome, especially on the hard wood floors. It took us a few weeks to show him if you add distilled water into the top of him he blows steam (like a humidifier) and has a blue light.  That was icing on the cake of a very cool train. It has been such a great toy.
His last present I bought because I just couldn't help myself. For a little boy who loves Mickey Mouse I really felt like he needed a decent sized Mickey stuffed animal, not the teeny tiny one he stole from my moms house. I originally was going to buy a 4 foot giant one from Costco, but Brett vetoed that idea. I'm glad too, because if he ever got thrown up on, I'm not sure how I would have washed him. This Mickey was the perfect size, big but not too big. I have to say once again, his enthusiasm did not disappoint when he opened him! He hugged Mickey like it was his long lost friend. He sleeps with him every night now.
Cake time!!! My camera was dying at this point so I was so glad Natalie helped take some pictures. Dax blew (maybe spit a little) out his his candles... he was so proud.
The cake was yummy, he had chosen a confetti cake.
It was a successful birthday! Natalie sent me this darling picture of him and Taylor. I love that these two are best friends. When they see each other, they open their arms wide, run to each other and hug. It's seriously the cutest thing you have ever seen.
He was pretty tuckered out by the end of the night! Goodnight my sweet 3 year old!
Birthday fun didn't end there, we continued the fun later that week at Grandma Nancy and Grandpa LaMonte's house. Brett had to go out of town but we txted him a lot of pictures.
Nancy made him a delicious chocolate cake...before he blew out the candles he had touched the frosting and wiggled his fingers at me showing me the gooey chocolate. He took a huge breath to blow out his candles, you would have thought his cake was a giant fire!

Grandma's present looked gigantic all wrapped up! I think it was almost as big as him. She gave him a big truck that you could load cars into the back. He loved it!!! He manages to stuff a lot of cars inside the truck to carry around the house.
He had a great time and he laughed a lot. I really don't know what I would do without this little boy. He's full of spunk and energy! He has the best imagination. If he doesn't have something to play with, it doesn't matter he will use his hands. One day I heard him using his fingers as people saying one was sick and needed to go to the Dr. He can play for hours in his room. He will lay on the floor and play cars on his rugs. I don't know if it's because he is a 2nd child, but it's been fun to see how he can entertain himself!

He loves the water. He strips at any given minute just so I will stick him in a tubby... which he can play in until the water gets cold, and even then it's hard to get him out. He also loves showers, which is nice to throw both boys in to get them clean. He says funny things to me all the time like, "I think that's crazy mom!" He loves singing. My favorite is when he sings, "teeter totter lemon water!" As it got closer to Christmas he would open his arms wide and sing "Merry Christmas" over and over again!

At his Dr. apt he was a perfect angel and did everything they asked him to do. He chatted with Dr. Wilcox like they were good friends. He weighed almost 30 lbs putting him into the 31st%/ He was 35 inches tall, putting him in the 13th%. Guess he can blame being shorter on his mom! If you ask him his name he will tell you "Doodle or Doodle Daxton." I never though about a nick name being confusing to a 3 year old. He also refers to himself as "yellow owl." Because we put him on Tanner's wall as the yellow owl, it is now his favorite color. Anything yellow that he chooses he says, "It's because I'm yellow owl!" I think it's darling!! I'm sure it will work it's self out!

He adores his dad... seriously Brett has to do everything for him and with him. He went through a phase of not eating by himself, so Brett would have to feed him. Brett had to put him to bed. Basically, if he needs something, he yells for his dad. (I have to say I don't mind that... especially when he wakes up at 3 AM!!!) He hated Brett being gone and "working on a plane" but he was thrilled when he came home and brought him and Isaac a Chicago Bears T-Shirt!
Happy Birthday Doodle Bop!!! We love you so much!!!

Daxton Doings Fall 2012

Daxton has really turned into quite the little character this year. I wish I had been better about writing down every little thing he does. If I did, I would be writing all day! He's everywhere! He says funny things all the time that catches me off guard.
He loves his toys. He loves Mickey Mouse. He plays so well on his own and has such an imagination!
He adores Isaac and has to copy him all the time. He loves playing with his friend Taylor who lives up the street. He likes friends. He's social. He's so smiley. He gets into all kinds of mischief. One day we were driving in the car and he needed a drink but Isaac didn't want to share... so he started to fake cough. I said, "quick Isaac! give him a drink!" Being very sarcastic of course. Well now Dax coughs EVERY TIME he needs a drink. If someone else has a delicious glass of ice water, Dax coughs. Pretends to choke or gag so he can steal your drink. He doesn't ask for a glass of water anymore... he coughs.
Dax loves having Tanner around. He's picked up on a few things I didn't really think much about... he a "has milk too" as he often tells me. But I won't let him try nursing the baby. So one day I found him nursing Pluto. I about died.
This is his "angry" face. I'm not sure where it comes from... but it cracks me up whenever he does it!
 And his happy face.

Really Dax is just good at all the faces he makes!!!
He loves cowboy boots. I mean, he LOVES them!!! They are too big yet he insists on wearing them, with or without pants!
Dax loves to be in the kitchen. He comes running whenever he sees me get out my mixer, he knows it's time to bake! He says, " What we making? I want to help!!"  He loves rolls, cookies, and cakes. He's more then happy to help me make them.

He's always around for a good laugh. I love when he dresses up!
Really I have to say, he just has the cutest face in the world! He's just THAT darling!!!

Dax has quite the personality. He loves to make you laugh. He has caught on to if you laugh once, he has to do it again and again and again! He loves to dance, sing, and tell stories. His vocabulary is impressive and he talks crystal clear. He doesn't let Isaac get away with anything.
I'm not sure where he learned this, but he loves holding up two fingers and saying, "peace!" He loves Brett. He will follow him anywhere he goes and could care less if I'm around. Brett does anything for him and Dax lets him! (As well as his girl cousins!)
He loves to win. One day I was trying to get him to eat his lunch so I said "i'm going to beat you!" I kept on eating and forgot about the race (cause the kid can be sooo slow!) I only had a few bites left of my sandwich when Dax shouted, "NO FAIR!" so he took his last quarter of a sandwich and shoved the whole thing in his mouth!!!! I was so afraid he would choke. He swallowed it down and started wiggling around singing, "oh ya! oh ya! I won! I won!!"

Daxton Doings

At every age I'm pretty sure I say, "this is my favorite age!!!" But I really do love two year olds! They are so funny and spunky. Their personalities shine and they just make you laugh. This Summer Daxton has grown up so much. I can't get over how old he seems to me. He rattles off big paragraphs and has so much to say! He has so many stories to tell.
He has to be like Isaac, he can't let Isaac do something without him trying to. Isaac sat in a tree, so Dax will too!
This was back in May when he got his Summer haircut. He looks so small compare to a few months later. I'm just in love with his face.
My neighbor was getting rid of her "castle" and we gladly took it for Dax to play on. He runs and stands on it to get away from Rosco... it's his safe spot where he can't be licked! Him and Isaac bring blankets on it and slide down it, it's been a fun Summer toy.
Dax is slowly getting into drawing. He is always so proud of his artwork and likes to display it and show it off. I love when he has something in mind and he explains his drawings to you.
HAT HAIR! This kid has so many hats. All 3 of my boys, Brett, Isaac and Dax love their hats!
Dax is so easy going and crazy all rolled up into one adorable package!  He loves water and loves being outside. He has learned to open doors and goes to see his friend up the street at any given minute. AH! I really have to watch this one. He's fast!

Dax started watching a new show on Disney called, Doc Mcstuffins. It's about a little girl who is a Dr and takes care of her stuffed animals. Dax found the Dr. kit and is now the best Dr in our house! He takes care of us with a lot of check-ups and watches after his animals, making sure they never get sick.
June 19th - I Woke up with dax in my bed this morning and he said, it's 4 o'clock. I need to get up and mow the lawn. Then he noticed I had a little blemish on my chin. He said, "oh you have an owie! I said yes. He said, you need a bandaid? I said no. He said oh. Hold still, let me pick it! I said no!! He kept trying and finally he got very calm touched my head and said, "it's ok. Hold still, I'll hold your head, and pick it!" I laughed and said no while I wiggled away. He did it all again but this time he laughed and said, "I'll hold your nose, hold still!" hahahaha

I really couldn't trust a cuter Dr. then this one!
And blankets! It's a good obsession I guess. He just loves them.... each and every one! Once I got him the wrong blanket and he said, "NO! I want Mickey." and then proceeded to sing me the song, "da, da, da, da, da, da! Come inside it's fun inside!"
I find little things I write down about Dax. The other day, I made rolls for a party...‬ which Dax has an obsession with homemade rolls. I came into the kitchen and dax had a big smile on his face holding a roll. He looked up and saw me and said, "YOU HAVE TO SHARE!!!"

Daxy was in the tub and wanting me to play peek a boo with him.‬  ‪I would scare him and he would grab his chest and say, "OH! You scared me!"‬

‪Dax was sitting on the potty wearing his toy story underwear and he said, mom no night night. I wanna watch buzz and woody and t-rex!‬ Soon after he learned how to get out of nap time was yell, "I have to go poopy!!!" Of course I would let him sit...and sit...and sit. He's a smart one!

‪So Dax was screaming for you all morning, DAD!!!! WHERES DAD??!!! I said, hes not here. Hes at work. That made him so mad he said, NO!!!!! NOOOOO!!! NOOOOOO!!! Then started Spelling, E- O!!!!! E- O!!! Which I think he meant, N- O ... but I understood what he was trying to do.‬
