Boys Being Boys!

If you would have told me I was going to have 3 little boys in a row, I wouldn't have believed you. But I look at these little faces and they just make my heart melt. One night Isaac and Dax both put on their batman pj's, complete with their capes. As I took their picture I didn't realize I captured their sign in the background... "Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a Superhero!" How fitting for these two in their little superhero pj's!
And then they were off to fight crime... or whatever they had planned!!
The new thing at our house is building forts in the basement. They really can't get enough of making the biggest and most elaborate forts they can think of! (They enlist their daddy's help and he can make them some pretty awesome forts!)
This little one was like a cave they could watch movies in. Did I mention Nancy and LaMonte came to watch them for us while Brett and I went to his fancy work party. LaMonte is such a sweet man, he sat all cramped inside this fort with Dax and watched Tom and Jerry. What a great Grandpa these boys have!
See it's roomy enough! (For a 3 and 6 year old!!!)
Sadly we had to do away with crazy for building. My boys were great never to pull on the blankets. They understood if you did it would all come crashing down and the things that were holding them up (such as books... and an occasional dumbbell weight) would hit them on the head. The little neighbor boy who is just a few months younger then Dax, didn't get this concept. He tugged and the fort came crashing down! (I'm so grateful the weight didn't hit they little neighbor boy. It did hit the TV and it quite working for a short period of time, but at least the neighbor was okay!) Now if you get Daxton's side to this story, he was ticked. He looked at Zach (the little neighbor boy), he didn't care if he was okay, he yelled, "YOU BROKE MY FORT!!!!" After that I told Brett we couldn't leave these up for the neighbor kids to get squished in. Too bad cause all of Isaac's friends thought they were awesome.
Here's my 3 boys. Being crazy I'm sure... it usually ends with with one of them in tears. But they are the 3 of the 4 joys in my life!!! (My 4th boy is my husband who I love and am so thankful for!)

More Summer Fun of 2012

So once upon a time, my fun sister Liz bought this stuff called, "squishy baff." She wanted all the cousins to enjoy in the fun! She packed up her kids and came to my house where we got out the pool and made "squishy baff."
What is squishy baff you ask? Well think of when a child wearing a diaper jumps in water. And the diaper gets so big the beads start coming out and they stick to everything... they are jelly, gooey, not something I ever thought... he that would be fun to play in! But alas, there is such a  product on the market and it's called, Squishy Baff. It comes in colors and ours was blue.
The kids were thrilled with it. It was slimy and gooey.
They dumped it all over each other.
Dax didn't so much want to play in it but he loved dumping it on people!
We got cups for them to play with. It looked like they were swimming in slushies. You dissolved it by adding salt... a lot of salt. It was a very interesting "baff" not one I will be having my kids take again any time soon! But hey, that's what fun Aunt Lizzy's are for!!!
On another day when we weren't bathing our kids in blue goo, we went to 2 dollar Tuesday at Thanksgiving Point.
Dax had never been, but he loved the bear cave and the feet prints on the ground.
They added a few new things, like these little centers for kids to play in. One was a building center. Dallin was super strong and could pick up a giant tire.
And then there was Isaac who could lift a whole log over his head!!!!! Impressive!!!
Dax enjoyed playing some music for others to enjoy.
We rolled down the hill and saw the waterfalls.
Isaac was a big tease and kept telling Dax he was going to jump in. Which scared poor Dax and he would scream and cry in fear of loosing his brother. That's real love folks!
They had a time slot to play at the Noah's Ark Water place. Isaac was his classic self... I should really post more of his crazy faces!
He took a shower from a lama.
While Daxton was busy kissing a statue rhino. My boys. They are too funny.
The rest of our Summer has been normal family fun things. Brett gets to mow the law a couple times a week because he grass grows like a weed. And he's such a trooper to always allow Daxton to come along for ride. Literally. Dax is always sitting on his shoulders. I don't know how he does it!
Isaac, my monkey has learned to climb up the lamp post outside of our house. We are so proud.
Daxton loves being a dog. He barks, a lot. He licks. He likes to live in his doghouse AKA his pop up tent. And recently he had me give him dog food to eat. Again, such proud parents are we!
Life is busy and tiring in the Summer. One night we found Dax fast asleep in the middle of the floor.
The boys have bunk beds and when they are not busy trying to sleep in the same bed and bug each other all night, they have little sleepovers on the floor of their room on their couch. How I love these boys and have enjoyed the Summer days. Things are going to change as Isaac enters 1st grade, we are back on a schedule, and have a new baby in the house. But I have enjoyed this Summer and really enjoyed my boys.

The Butterflies!

For Easter, I had mentioned Grandma Nancy had given the boys Butterflies. We took our sweet time in ordering them. Finally we did it! It was very educational and the boys loved showing them off to their friends.
The little bugs came in the mail. We didn't have to do much with them yet but watch them eat their self silly and turn into really GIANT caterpillars. I mean, GIANT, long, stretch guys. It freaked me out a bit.
Then when they were ready they climbed to the top of their jars and turned themselves into chrysalises.
We waited for a week or so while they "changed." They once again freaked me out again because if they ever felt like they were in danger, they would start to shake! And shake! and shake!!! It was crazy to watch. I just walked away when they did that!
And then we stuck them into our butterfly pavilion. I had this image of beautiful butterflies fluttering around! They shook even more if they were spooked!
They weren't really the "beautiful" things I had anticipated. They looked like giant moths with orange wings. But the boys loved them. They fed them watermelon. Which, why am I so freaked out to give a butterfly watermelon? I just didn't want to let them escape in the house!
Isaac was just pleased and showed everyone that came over.
There was like 7 butterflies flying around. They were pretty cool.
Minus the blood that nobody mentions... it gets strung up and down the cage from when they break free of their chrysalis. Yuck!!! I must be too much of a girly girl... I couldn't imagine getting snakes or lizards in our house... I could barley stomach these little butterflies!
The time came to let them free...
Be free little ones!!!!!!! The boys were so excited as they flew out! They went fast, it was very exciting!!! They still look for them around the house. Dax loves when he sees "his butterflies."

My Boys

I adore these boys. I've been looking up past pictures of them together. They are so cute together. They play really well and are crazy together. When you ask Daxton who his best friend is, he says, "Isaac." It's really cute! I love that they call each other their best friends. They said the baby will be their best friend too.

Isaac rolled Dax up in a blanket one day and wheeled him around the house. It made me laugh so hard.
Isaac taught Dax to blow chocolate milk bubbles.... since Dax has grown up more and insists on being like Isaac and drinking from a cup, Brett is always saying, "It's not a meal, till Daxton spills!" Which is so true. I can't remember the last time we didn't go one day without a drink being dumped over.
I love when I catch them in the action of just playing so nice together.
It doesn't matter if it's cold or not, the boys loved being outside. They roll around and wrestle no matter what they went out to play. I honestly have so many pictures of these boys, I can't post them all in this post. They have to be sorted into their correct places. Plus, I'm amazed how much they have have changed in just a few months.

I found a few more from this Summer and they already look so different! Dax copies everything Isaac does. He's like his superhero. They were getting ready to swim and they had to show me their "muscles!"

Look how strong they are! Oh I love their faces!

Bunk Bed Boys!!!

I remember before Dax was born, we were walking around RC Willey and we walked passed the bunk beds. Isaac said "one day mom, my brother and I will have bunk beds!" He has talked about it forever and finally... it happened. In February a lot was changing. Daxton especially. He decided to grow up way to fast. All in one weekend he wanted to get rid of his binki, start potty training, (more on those two subjects later) and he didn't want anything to do with his crib anymore. If we would put him in it, he would scream bloody murder. It was horrible!
No big deal, we went through this with Isaac, we just switched his crib to a toddler bed. He was so excited... for about an hour. He didn't want to really sleep in, nor really sit on it if it wasn't for Isaac laying by him. Night after night we tried to have him sleep in his new "big boy bed" but it wasn't good enough for him. He wanted a bed like Isaac's. So for a week this is how the boys slept...
Side by side, smashed together in Isaac's bed. Going to sleep was not easy. Dax is all over the place. But we knew we couldn't go on like this anymore, so Isaac's long time dream came true, we got bunk beds.
The boys were so excited! They were jumping around helping Brett (more then he needed) put together the beds.
What a good daddy he is! He worked for hours putting these beds together.
But for Dax to crawl in and say, "MY BED!!!" Was just to precious in the end.
Isaac found his little white board and hung it over his bed. It read, "no bude on my bed!" (Nobody on my bed!)
Dax has wanted to sleep on the top bunk forever!!!! He loves his bed up top. He even does a good job making his bed, which isn't easy.
I love that he lines his stuffed animals up in a row. It reminds me of when I was little with millions of stuffed animals on my bed until I got a pet net.
Daxtons bed is harder to make. We ended up buying him ball sheets and a ball comforter, but I have yet to put the comfoter on. It is so hard to make while the arm is on the side. Dax falls out every now again, so for now better safe then falling!

For the longest time Dax would whine and cry that he couldn't climb up to Isaac's bed. That didn't last long, he took matters into his own hands and learned to climb up the ladder. Getting down is a bit harder. He's working on it, but it's a little scary for all of us to watch that. The problem is now he climbs up the ladder at night and bugs Isaac. I tell ya, bed time can be a pain somedays! Even worse now that Dax leared to open the bedroom door. Now he can open in and pop out to say hello. I'm working on the best method to teach my children to lay down and fall asleep, if someone knows the secret to this, I wish they would share. It used to be like that, once upon a time.

Things have just seem to be changing so fast for me... all these little changes were just adding up to fast. I wasn't sure why... but we figured it out pretty quick! We have one big change coming up this year! (Yup, stay tuned to learn what that is!)
