Happy 8 Years!

It's the little things that mean the most! After 8 years, Brett and I have done some really fun things together, but the little things always means the most. When he spins me around and dances with me in the kitchen, sings a song (even though he's doing it to be funny), cleans the kitchen, tells me I'm pretty, leaves little notes around the house, talks with me for hours into the night... those are the things I love the most.

Friday night we were chatting late into the night and I mentioned how much I wanted a donut. I never eat donuts! I couldn't even tell you the last time I bought one. But I had read a delicious article on donuts and I was telling Brett how yummy a chocolate glazed and lemon filled donut sounded. We went to bed, I forgot all about my donuts and didn't give it another thought. Until that morning. I was woke by my darling husband, holding a beautiful orchid and 2 donuts. One chocolate glazed and the other lemon filled. He had gotten up early and went to the store to surprise me for our anniversary. That meant the world to me! I love things like that. He also bought me a real funny card. He knows I like them more then the sappy ones and he wrote me a long letter.

I'm super excited about my flower. It lasts longer then a bunch of flowers nor is it smelly. You water it once every 2 weeks. I think I can manage that. It needs very little sunlight. It seems low maintenance, so I'm hoping I can keep it alive. I've tried to buy fake ones but the leaves always looked fake. Well guess what? They look fake on a real one too!
I'm so glad I married this man! I love him more everyday. He is such a good example to me. He makes me want to be better in all aspects of my life. He is the best husband and father I could ever ask for.
Happy Anniversary Brett! Here's to another terrific 8 years!

7 Years Ago... I Married My Lobster!

"A wedding anniversary is the celebration of love, trust, partnership, tolerance and tenacity.  The order varies for any given year."
 ~Paul Sweeney
It's hard to believe that 7 years ago Brett and I got married. I really don't feel like it's been that long. Through all the up's and downs, I can't imagine a better person I would want by my side, then my sweet husband. There really is someone out there who balances you... I believe that because Brett is my perfect balance. He keeps me laughing and reminds me what is important in our life. I love him and couldn't imagine a better best friend and partner in crime.
Happy 7th Anniversary Brett!
I love you so much. Here's to another wonderful 7 years!

"I love being married.  It's so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life."  ~Rita Rudner

I've been asked to clarify. Why did I marry a Lobster you ask? Luckily, Brett got my joke right away. He knows me too well. I love the show, "Friends" and in one of their episodes Phoebe says, "It's a well known fact that lobsters fall in love and mate for life. You can actually see old lobster couples walking around their tank, holding claws." Later in the show, Ross and Rachel kiss for the first time and Pheobe say's, "See! He's her Lobster." Well, Brett's mine!
