Last plays with Altair Art papers

Hello All

Since this is my last post for the Altair Art Design Team I thought that I would play around with 2 projects.  The first one is a scrapbooking layout, my usual, I know.  I used all the polka dot papers for this layout.

Amazing for me, I know, but yes, it is a simple little card for Christmas.  I am not a card maker at all and very much admire the talents of those that do, so this is a very quick attempt at a Christmas card.

That is it for me.  I do apologise for the picture quality, but I am currently on the road travelling around New South Wales in Australia for a week.  My greatest thanks to Anka for allowing me to represent her company and her papers.  Keep designing all and do what you have to do to be happy.

One of my most favourite Altair Art papers

Hello All

2nd of December already - how completely crazy!  I don't mind if people get Christmassy now that my birthday has finally passed.  A quick layout today using a variety of papers and ephemera across a wide range of Altair Art papers.  I also used a few funky pieces of Scrap FX chipboard and embossed them to use.  All pretty simple.

That's all, just a quick layout, but don't the little green leaves just look the absolute cutest?  Enjoy your month all, don't get too stressed out doing Christmas things!

My 2nd bit of Christmas for the month

Hello again,

As promised, my second Christmas layout for this month.  Completely different to the last one, with bright, blue colouring encompassing the snowflakes of Christmas.  I didn't actually use the specific AltairArt Christmas papers and picked up a lovely blue and white polka dot paper.  I think this comes from the Ever and Always II.  This was another pretty layout to work on, framed up by the lacy piece of Dusty Attic chipboard in the bottom left hand corner.  I actually had the 'sparkle and shine' theme for this month constantly on my mind and you can see that shines through in this layout too.

See you next month, have fun, Delia

Getting a wee bit Christmassy with AltairArt papers!

Hello All,

So, Altair Art have released their range of Christmas papers and ephemera and they are very lovely papers with some wonderful deep, rich colouring.  It is almost hard to cover them up with decorations.

I did two Christmas layouts for this month, so here is the first for your enjoyment.

This was a pretty layout to work on and I enjoyed my time working on it very much.  I fussy cut all the ephemera out supplied with the Altair Art papers and some I wet down and then scrunched up and dried as you can see to the top right of the white picture area.  Creating a base on the photo matt with cardboard and then mounting this upon 2 straws, I then built up around the outside with various pieces of ephemera, some also from Kaisercraft, plus a piece of Dusty Attic chipboard until finished.

I know it is Christmas early, but you need to get in and have your papers ready as it is not really that far away ...

I will be back on the 16th with a more of a blue layout, but still with the Christmas theme.

Crazy busy but still finding time to enjoy my papers

So, since my last post, I have now seen much more of New South Wales and I think I have seen most of it now in the last 8 months!  I had to do a flying trip back to my old state of Queensland to change my drivers licence name and 3300 kilometres later, we finally arrived back home.  Needless to say, I am completely done with travelling .. until next month anyway!  Ho Hum.

However, before I left, I got my creative groove on so I could at least be up to date with my artworks and this is a little piece I created, but it is not quite finished as I really want to find the right pieces of ephemera to put with it and I am just a tad undecided, so it will have to sit until I am inspired by the right wording and pieces. However, I love the grey backdrop of the Altair Art paper against the maroon reddiness of the layout.  My favourite bit however is the die cut pieces of the flower.  I do not know where I got the die from, but it is totes brilliant.

Anyway, I hope you are all having much fun with your own creativity and wherever that may take you.  I have some very cool pieces in my possession for doing some off the page projects or I should also get my Silhouette machines up and happening and create some groovy 3-D piece.  Just so many options and never enough time.

Pictures below of my creative piece.  Kids are on school holidays which means I get much more time to be in my craft space ....

Channelling my inner pink with Altair Art

teehee.  I am very much having a pink fest at the moment in the art room.  My inspiration piece for the month is also pink, so I suspect not much pink will happen after this for a wee while!

Anyway, I did use a little bit of grey to try and tone down the pink, but all in all, it is quite pink, but it is pretty.

It is just a fun little layout, using all Altair Art papers and some ephemera along  with some Kaisercraft ephemera and other elements.  That is it for today all, I hope you all have a great month.

smiles,

Circles of Love

Hello All,

Welcome to June!  Half way through and it has gone very quickly for me, too much so, in fact.  So, I let a piece of Kaisercraft die cut circles be my inspiration for this piece, which is also probably one of my most flattest layouts ever, but it works and it is super cute.  With room for 3 pictures, I am yet to find the perfect ones, but until then, it is finished.  The background paper is one of my most favourite Altair Art papers of all with the beautiful outer space image.  Where we live now we get to see the most amazing array of stars ever and the Milky Way some nights is truly outstanding.  It is amazing how much more you can see out in the country without the city lights.

Uniquely Beautiful

Hello again all, Delia back with another post using these amazing papers from Altair Art.  I am certainly enjoying playing with these papers, though this time I intertwined the Sunrise and EverDream collections.  Using ephemera from the EverDream collection against the Sunrise 06 paper as my background works out so beautifully.

Strangely, when I first sat down to work on this layout for my blog post I was in a bit of a dark creative mood and yet I was drawn to the colouring of the Sunrise paper but then I wanted to grunge it up a bit and so I applied some white modelling paste just with a palette knife, randomly spreading it and then I stencilled over with Graphite texture paste with a graffiti type stencil I have.  I then got out various sprays and splattered and dribbled them in my creative areas.  I delved into my Dusty Attic chipboard collection and used 2 different pieces after embossing them with powder.  After that, it is all just a process of layering up the photo matte and then adding ephemera and flowers with a little bit of bling to finish it all off and to bring the design together.

Here are some pics to see what I have been up too.  To see more of my creativity, please visit my website at www.jacobicreations.com
Take care all,
Delia

Welcome, First post and enjoying the AltairArt Papers

Hello all, Delia here with my very first post with Altair Art and may I just say how delighted I am to be a part of this design team.  Most exciting indeed.

So, I live in Australia on an 8000 acre cattle and farming property, having recently moved from the city, it has been a mighty eye opening experience.  I have finally got a rather awesome craft area happening - it is very much a work in progress, but it is currently enough that I can get creating.  A much needed activity after packing up and moving.  Life is super awesome and I absolutely love it, so when this wonderful package of AltairArt papers turned up, life just got that little bit more enjoyable!

To the craft room I went and oooohed and aaaahed appropriately over the beautiful array scattered across my desk, so many little elements to play with and enjoy.  I was immediately drawn to the Ever Dream paper range and picked out the EverDream02 paper, as I think that is most certainly my most favourite design in the Ever Dream pack. Out came the clear gesso to get it ready for being created upon.  One thing I really like is the thickness of the paper, I didn't have to put another piece of card on it for support, which is something I always tend to do just to give the layout a bit more rigidity.

The blue, green and purple colouring is truly beautiful in this main paper I chose to use.  I grabbed a Kaisercraft butterfly stencil from a recent range and used some white modelling paste and randomly applied it over the paper.  I then picked up a few complementary colours in the Lindy's Magicals range and let loose with those!  I accidentally used orange in the mix, but it all worked out in the end!  Below you can see the before and after with the Magicals.  They are so much fun to use.

BEFORE

AFTER

I got my photo panel and used various papers in the range to create my photo matt, giving them an ink around the edge to give them some depth when put up against the main page  and all of my intended elements.  Various elements are applied, mostly flowers of course.  I fussy cut a few elements out  of the extra elements in the pack and used them in various spots around the page, mixed in with the flowers.  I had a bit of fun with the ribbon work when attaching the long tag, which always makes for such prettiness.

I have these gorgeous wooden dreamcatchers that I applied Viva Ink Gold Wax Pastes too.  Again, using the blue, purple, green and pink colouring, I then randomly applied 3-D glue, just to give it some shine and dimension.  It all has come together rather beautifully, it is a lovely, cheery layout and I hope you like it too.

Well, I am off to play with the rest of the papers, so much to do and play with.  I hope you get to be creative this week too, enjoy your time, be kind to each other and I will be back soon.  Too see more of my work, go to www.jacobicreations.com

smiles, Delia
