USGS National and Global Oil and Gas Assessment Project—Black Sea Area: Assessment Unit Boundaries, Assessment Input Data, and Fact Sheet Data Tables

This data release contains the boundaries of assessment units, assessment input data, and resulting fact sheet data tables for the assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources in the Black Sea area. The assessment unit is the fundamental unit used in the National and Global Oil and Gas Assessment Project for the assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources. The assessment unit is defined w

Update of the Database for Volcanic Processes and Geology of Augustine Volcano, Alaska to National Geologic Map Schema

The geologic map database in this data release is a reproduction of the U.S. Geological Survey Professional Paper 1762: Volcanic Processes and Geology of Augustine Volcano, Alaska, Waitt and Begét (2009). The database consists of a geologic map and one structural cross section that conform to the National Geologic Map Schema (GeMS). These data supersede USGS Data Series 677: Database for Volcanic

Ground-surface elevation, vegetation, and land type within approximately 10 and 400 meters of 176 water-level gaging stations in the Greater Everglades, Florida 2005-10

The Everglades Depth Estimation Network (EDEN) is an integrated network of water-level gages, interpolation models, web applications, and decision support tools that generates daily water-level data and derived hydrologic data across the freshwater part of south Florida's Greater Everglades. EDEN provides continuous daily water-level and depth surfaces on a 400-meter grid using an interpolation al

Clothianidin concentrations in milkweed leaves that leads to prepupal mortality in monarch butterflies

A set of experiments was conducted to determine the dietary clothianidin exposures that cause prepupal mortality in the absence of other adverse effects. Monarch larvae were raised from hatch to pupae on clothianidin contaminated swamp milkweed plants. Larval growth, larval survival, and prepupal survival were monitored throughout the experiments in which the exposures ranged from 1.4 – 2,793.1 ng

Amplicon sequencing of pollen foraged by Bombus affinis for compositional analysis

This study generated genetic 'barcode' data using high-throughput sequencing to characterize pollen collected by the endangered rusty-patched bumblebee, Bombus affinis. Pollen samples were associated with a single Bombus affinis colony within a structure in Red Wing, Minnesota, USA, as previously described by Boone et al. (2022). This data release consists of two tab-delimited files: 1) sample.me

Digital data for the geologic map of Scoggins Dam, Henry Hagg Lake, and Scoggins Valley, Washington County, Oregon

Scoggins Dam in northwest Oregon lies within the Gales Creek fault zone (GCF), a northwest-striking system of active faults forming the boundary between the Coast Range and the Tualatin Valley about 25 km east of Portland, Oregon. Geologic mapping published in 2020 shows the dam to lie within a block-faulted releasing stepover between the right-lateral, NW-striking Scoggins Creek and Parsons Creek

Mercury concentrations in dragonfly larvae from the Willamette River Basin, 2023

Comma-separated values (.csv) file containing data related to mercury concentrations in dragonfly samples from the Willamette River Basin collected in 2023.

Conservation Efforts Database Spatial Reporting Units (SRUs)

This geospatial layer is a spatial index for the Conservation Efforts Database (CED, https://conservationefforts.org/), serving as a spatial framework for summary reports by area (a.k.a. polygon). In addition, this SRU (Sagebrush Reporting Unit) data is an option for data providers to provide spatial ambiguity to alleviate concerns of too much spatial detail representing private landowners’ effort

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl Substances in Select Domestic Wells in the Middle Chickahominy River Watershed, Virginia

Samples for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) were collected from 10 domestic wells to assess the extent to which PFAS is coming from the groundwater aquifer or from another source within the home.    Specific objectives included: Collect well construction information; Collect samples for analysis of PFAS directly from the aquifer at domestic  wells;  Collect samples for analysis of PFAS

Pseudogymnoascus destructans detections by US county 2007-2022

This data documents the results of sampling for the white-nose syndrome fungus, Pseudogymnoascus destructans (Pd) at the USGS National Wildlife Health Center between 2007-2022. Data are reported on the county level. Locations are accurate to county only. We used data collected at winter locations only (hibernaculum) for this data set.

Community-sourced lower Zanclean [early Pliocene] sea surface temperature (SST) data

This data set collects, from peer-reviewed research, values of sea surface temperature (SST) that occurred at select sites across the Earth during a brief period of the lower- Zanclean.

Glyphosate hormesis in the toxic alga Prymnesium parvum

The dataset associated with this metadata are included in two separate csv files, Trial 1 and Trial 2. Both .cvs files describe cell densities in different cultures measured at 3, 6, and 9 days of time at different glyphosate exposure concentrations.
