If any of my readers regards me as somewhat
exacting in my demands, I would ask him to reflect
that it is no easy task to create an orator, even
though his education be carried out under the most
favourable circumstances, and that further and
greater difficulties are still before us. For continuous application, the very best of teachers and
a variety of exercises are necessary.
