--The alarm of fire about 6 o'clock yesterday afternoon was caused by the partial burning of the carpenter shop of Washington L. Jenkins, on Cary street, near the Seventeenth Street bridge. The flames were extinguished by citizens with a few buckets of water before much damage was sustained.
