Shot for cowardice.
--A letter in the Petersburg Express from Gen. Lee's army says:‘ Another disagreeable incident took place in our brigade yesterday evening, the shooting of two men for cowardice and desertion, members of the 16th Virginia regiment, named Capps and Wilkinson.--They were shot in the presence of the entire brigade at sunset. It is indeed a fearful sight to see men thus shot down without the excitement of the battle-field, but I suppose it must be done to preserve the morale of the army.
