The latest forgery.

The Northern papers publish a letter purporting to be from Col. Northern, Commissary-General, to the Secretary of War, and which is very ingeniously gotten up for its purpose. It is a pity to spike such a nice looking gun; but the letter is a sheer forgery and was never written by Col. Northrop, nor ever seen by him till he saw it in the papers.
