The Mayor,
yesterday, had no criminal cases of importance before him, but violations of the city ordinances were numerous; most of them for uncleanliness of premises that were disagreeable to neighborhoods. We were gratified to hear his Honor announce the fact that the capillary laws were to be rightly enforced; for the summer beats are now on us and if the yards and streets are not kept in good condition sickness and disease may be engendered that heretofore have never been known in Richmond.
