Suspicious

--A negro fellow named Henry, slave of Wm. Smeethy, was before the Mayor yesterday for having a pass permitting him to go at large and suspected of giving information to the Yankees. Henry had a pass from his master permitting him to visit New Kent county, and a passport from the authorities to the same effect. The Mayor stated that he had good authority for believing that the prisoner had been regularly in the habit as visiting the Yankee lines on the Peninsula at his pleasure, and had furnished our enemies with information valuable to them. To enable him to get witnesses from New Kent, he committed the accused till Monday morning.
