Butler, the Knave.

--Among the first acts of Gen. Butler to preserve the police of the city of New Orleans, was to arrest May or Monroe and all the Aldermen, of whom the oath of allegiance to Lincoln was required. They declining to take the oath, were committed to prison, and are now suffering for their patriotic firmness. So we learn from an exchange.
