Winter.
--The first month of winter is more than half gone, and we are jogging on pretty rapidly towards Christmas; yet we have thus far but little real wintry weather, and the ice question is beginning to be seriously discussed. Whether the war continues or not, we want to be independent of the North in this respect, and as we shall probably have a hard freeze ere long, we hope every man who has the means of doing so, will pack away a supply of ice. It will ‘ "pay,"’ depend upon it.
