Convicted of Felony.

--John A. H. R. Armistead, indicted for stealing a quantity of clothing from Wm. S. Tupman & Co., was arraigned before Judge Lyons yesterday, and a motion to quash the indictment having been overruled, the trial proceeded. The jury brought in a verdict of ‘ "guilty of grand larceny,"’ and ascertained the term of his imprisonment in the penitentiary at three years. The prisoner moved an arrest of judgment, and the motion was continued until to-day. According to the provisions of the law, Armistead has a dismal prospect before him, as it is not the first time he has been sentenced to the penitentiary, and his present fate is equivalent to imprisonment for life.
