A father and child burned to death.

--A heartrending calamity occurred a day or two ago at Sing Sing, Westchester county, N. Y. Mr. Mara had returned from the cemetery after having buried his wife, taking home with him his only child, which he had left at one of the neighbor's until he returned from the funeral. About 12 ½ o'clock the following morning his house was discovered on fire, and before the fire department arrived the building was consumed. In the ruins were found the remains of Mara, but those of his daughter could not be found.
