Two Seven

Oh yeah, so I turned 27 last Saturday.

I forgot it was my birthday till like 2 days before, on my brother's birthday. He turned 18. My parents no longer have any minor children. They are getting OLD.

Anywhoo, Nate and I went to Utah for the weekend, with no kids. My oldest had grandma and grandpa watch him, my youngest had super expensive babysitters watch him. Win-win.

Nate planned a super fun dinner with some of my favorite peeps. It was awesome.

My sister asked me what I was getting for my birthday. I told her this one double stroller that I've wanted for a while and she's all, "Lame. I'm SO glad I don't have kids." Anyway, I'm jazzed about it. Here it is. Or I might get red. Haven't decided yet.I'm also in the market for one of those confusing wraps that you have to watch a DVD to learn how to tie it to your body in 2,000 different ways and stick your baby in it. So, can you tell me a good one and where to get it? Thanks.

AND... I think we may be coming home on MONDAY! BAAAAAAHHHHH!

Light At The End Of The Hospital Hallway

Me to Nurse Practitioner: If you had to guess, when do you think Burke can come home? You know, just a guess. I won't write it on my calendar and yell at you if he's not home on that date. I just want an idea, because I'm getting anxious. Can you tell? I hope it's not obvious.

NP: Well, I don't think he'll be here till his due date. (November 25th)
So... if I had to guess... I would say... two weeks. But maybe sooner.

BOO YA!

I'm totally getting my hopes up. But it feels good. I can't wait.

Chubby

I know all of my posts are about my second born, but that's pretty much our life right now. So...

Our little chunk is weighing in at a whopping 4 lbs 13 ounces. Within the next few days, he should be hitting the 5 lb mark. Yay! And... he has started taking a bottle. He is nippling 2 feedings a day. He can come home when he can nipple feed ALL of his feedings. He gets the rest of his feedings through a feeding tube. They use my breast milk and they fortify it with formula to give him extra calories. Pumping every 3 hours sucks. But I know it's good for him. I just can't wait until I can nurse him, and don't have to milk myself with the Medela. He just doesn't have enough strength yet. Believe me... it's WAY easier to wake up to a crying baby at night to feed than set an alarm to pump.
Bummer... he's back on oxygen. But that's okay. He can come home on oxygen if he needs to. And it's a really low %, so I'm not even mad about it.And look at that freaking double chin. I love it.The bags under my eyes are awesome.
I hear under eye bags are the new black.
My little boy is so sweet.
Burke and Grandma Lovell. She graciously flew out here from California for the 2nd time in 5 weeks to watch a certain almost 3-year-old for us while we take our CPR class and other mandatory things before we can take Burke home.

Hopefully only a couple more weeks. *sigh*

One Month

I'm not picking my nose, I'm pointing to my brain!

Burke is one month old today. I can't believe it.
He is also 4 pounds. Starting to get chubby-ish cheeks.
And he might need a haircut before he was even supposed to be born.
His hair is growing like the weeds in my front rocks.

We love him so much.

They are going to start bottle feeding next week. Wish the little nipper luck!
