We spent Thanksgiving this year at the family cabin in Colorado. It was really fun and the food was great. I didn't want to kill anyone, or myself, so I think it was a pretty successful holiday. Because I think that's what holidays are all about... eating good food, being with family and not wanting to slit your wrists. My family is so lucky to have me.
I think this was the first year of my life that I actually liked Thanksgiving food (I'm picky). I tried a little bit of everything {Turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, etc.} Everything. It was delish. Ok, I lied. I didn't eat any pie. Because I don't like pie. But everything else was really good. My Nater cooked a good portion of the meal and it was top notch.
It started snowing right as we sat down to eat.So naturally, my FIL and I got out our big-@ss cameras and started snapping away.Going for a ride up the mountain. It was beautiful. There was snow covering every branch. I love it when it does that. But what I don't love is being cold. Or hot. Nate is so lucky to have me.My little rosy-cheeked Bubba.
Cheesy McCheeser. I just love him. He cracks me up!
Aaah! And it's December 1st today! Where did 2008 go?

One More 5th Grade State Report Dream Fulfilled
We just had a great time with our friends from California, Lindsey and Andy. They came to visit us for a week. We were busy non-stop.
It's always been Andy's dream to go to Colorado. That's because he did his state report on it in 5th grade. I did mine on Idaho, if you recall. And Lindsey did hers on Maine. We're going to try and go there next year. Then all of our 5th grade state report dreams will come true. And we can die happy.
So, first stop...

Cabin in Colorado
Pretty much, there are a ton of pictures of my kid.
Because I think he's cute and I took a lot of them.
They all thought I was stupid and looked stupid when we left the cabin and I was wearing this hat. I sure showed them when I was the warmest one on top of the cold mountain.Because I think he's cute and I took a lot of them.
It was a hard job, but someone had to be the sexiest. Linds and Me at 12,000-ish feet. I expected the Rocky's to be a little rockier.
Next stop...
Our Awesome Wipe OutsLindsey. Pretty graceful in my opinion. And a graceful one from me. (yeah right) I actually don't even know why I'm backwards.
I must have been doing some way awesome trick. (yeah right)And this would be Andy. But all you can see is Andy's feet.
Can you see them there? On the right?Totally jazzed Lindsey. Ready to surf. Or she just finished. I don't remember.Twinnie Power.
(yes, that is a light pink, John Deere hat. My Idaho roots showing up a bit.
And the hat covers up my other roots, if you know what I mean.)

Back in high school, Lindsey and I looked a lot alike. Only I was taller. We played basketball together, and the other teams couldn't tell us apart. Anyway, some people thought we were twins. So we started calling each other Twinnie. (Funny side note: One time, while at Lindsey's house, she was saying Twinnie from the other room. Her dad walked in, looked at us, and said, "Why do you call each other twenty?" We still laugh about it.) And we named our Rock Band band Twenty.
We have so many great memories together. We just realized that we've known each other for 12 years. That is almost half of our lives. I'm so lucky to have her as a friend. I know we'll be life-long friends, and for that... I am extremely grateful. I love my Twinnie.
P.S. If you did your state report in 5th grade on New Mexico, and you haven't fulfilled your dream of visiting? Come on down. We'll show you a good time here in the Land of Enchantment.
