Wild Wing, Toronto, ON

Gord and I were going to a three hour Travel Photography 101 workshop this evening at Henry's.

Before the workshop, we met a Wild Wing at Church/Queen W for an early supper .. it's not far from Henry's.

Because it was fairly early, there were only a handful of people ... watching the EuroCup 2012.

They have taken some of their wings off the menu ... but there are still 90+ to choose from.

I ordered Come Get Some.

I like dill and found these were a bit bland.  Plus there was no other sauce to contrast the dill sauce.  They were okay, not great, and I wouldn't order them again.

Gord ordered Smokin' Dill.

His were much better.  The BBQ sauce gave them a kick.

Adam was our friendly server and took good care of us.

Wild Wing, Toronto, ON

Gord and I had our last Photo 101 class class this evening.

I conducted an enrolment seminar in Hamilton this afternoon so met Gord for supper near our class. There aren't all that many restaurants nearby so we went to Wild Wing again. We'd been there a couple weeks ago. The wings had been good but the service was lacking.

We both ordered the 2 for 1 Mozza Sticks.

Gord ordered Mystery wings. He said they were sweet, hot and salty. He liked them and would order them again.

I ordered Rhinestone Boots (Thai & Raspberry). Interesting combination, right? And raspberry on a wing? They were good (a bit spicy and sweet) and I'd order them again.

Jordyn was our server towards the end and she was friendly ... they need more servers like her.

Given this evening's positive experience, I'd go back if I'm in the area.

Wild Wing, Toronto, ON

Before our photo class this evening,Gord and I met at Wild Wing at Church Street/Richmond E for supper.

We'd been to the one at King W/Bathurst in February and enjoyed the wings so wanted to try other flavors (there are 101 in all!).
It isn't a very fun place ... functional but not welcoming.  I guess they did what they could with the space.
Appetizers were two for one, so I ordered Mozza Stix.  They were okay ... nothing special.
Gord ordered Broccoli, Bacon & Cheese Poppers.  He said they were okay.
Gord ordered Dry Cajun wings.  He liked them and said he'd get them again.
I ordered Dill-icious Honey Wings.  They were really good and I would get them again.
Our first server, though efficient, wasn't very friendly ... she was very indifferent.  Our second server, who came on when the first one left, wasn't much better.  She left our crap on the table long after we were finished and we had to ask her a couple times for our bill (folding menus by the door was more important to her).
I'd go back for the wings ... hopefully the service will be better.

Wild Wing, Toronto, ON

Gord and I have been waiting for Wild Wing at King Street W/Bathurst to open. This chain has been popping up all over the place and we thought we'd wait 'til this one opened to try it since it's in our 'hood. It opened last week so we walked there for lunch today.

They have a lot of guts opening two doors down from the Wheat Sheaf who are famous for their wings. St. Louis Wings and Ribs was across the street for a couple years but closed last year (I love their wings!).

According to their website ... Wild Wing restaurants are dressed up as old time saloons with pine covered floors and walls covered in chicken wire - to keep you caged in of course! Large screen TVs for the sports enthusiasts and lively music from our Wild Tunes video jukebox will keep your toes tapping!

Here is this one. There are horses running and John Wayne is on the wall which stay with the theme. But what's up with the palm tree?! How does that fit in in a "saloon"?

Their menu boasts 101 varieties of wings.

First you decide if you want them battered or not, then you choose your sauce, and then you choose your dressing for your veggies.

I ordered Whiskey Girl non-battered ... they were delicious!

Gord ordered Mango Chipotle battered ... his were delicious too.

The beer selection is pretty tame.

The food was good as was the service (we were the only ones there). We'd go back ... we still have 99 more varieties to try!
