January 2021 - Third Thursdays Blog Hop

Welcome once again to our Third Thursdays Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up Demonstrators who love to share fun creative ideas. This month, our theme for the hop is A Sweet Sale. If you have visited me recently, its no secret that I’m absolutely smitten with the new Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch from the Mini Catalog. I don’t think it’s left my desk since I received it 2 months ago! It’s such a fun and cheery bundle, especially paired with the coordinating Ice Cream Shop Designer Series Paper.

Color Combo:

What I really like about this card layout is that even though it has a lot of layers, it comes together pretty easily. It’s also great to use a couple different pattens of the DSP together. How cute is that pattern with the sprinkles? After making this card, I went ahead and put together 20 more for a swap I participated in. The punch makes it super-easy to cut those cute ice cream cones out in a flash. I had to add the little heart (from the Dog Builder Punch) to the top of the cone because it was the perfect touch with the sentiment. This card just makes me smile…and now I’m craving some ice cream! :)

Old Olive Card Base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”
Basic White Cardstock: 4” x 5-1/4”
Petal Pink Cardstock: 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”, embossed with Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder
Ice Cream Shop Designer Series Paper (sprinkles pattern): 1-1/2” x 4-1/2”
Ice Cream Shop Designer Series Paper (polka dot pattern): 1” x 4-1/4”
Basic White Cardstock: die cut a 2-3/8” x 3-1/2” scalloped rectangle from Stitched So Sweetly Dies
Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp sentiment in Blackberry Bliss Ink and die cut using 1-3/8” circle from Layering Circles Dies
Whisper White / Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp ice cream scoops and cone
Ice Cream #1: Scoop stamped in Soft Sea Foam / sprinkles stamped in Old Olive
Ice Cream #2: Scoop stamped in Petal Pink / sprinkles stamped in Terracotta Tile
Ice Cream #3: Scoop stamped in Purple Posy / sprinkles stamped in Blackberry Bliss (Note: for the Purple Posy ink, which is currently unavailable - if you don’t have it you can substitute either a Purple Posy Stampin’ Write Marker or Highland Heather ink stamped-off once)
Cone: Solid image stamped in Cinnamon Cider ink (stamped-off once) / cone detail stamped in Cinnamon Cider (full strength)
Terracotta Tile Cardstock: punch small heart from Dog Builder Punch, attach to top of ice cream with a mini glue dot and brush with Wink of Stella Glitter Brush
White Crinkled Seam Binding and a rhinestone
Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”
Ice Cream Shop Designer Series Paper (inside card): 1/2” x 5-1/4”

Finally a peek inside the card. I added a strip of that adorable sprinkle DSP and a coordinating stamped sentiment. I just LOVE the font in this stamp set!

November 2020 - Third Thursdays Blog Hop

I was so excited for this challenge as I have some really special thank you cards to make and it was the perfect opportunity to use some of my favorite Fall products: the Beautiful Autumn stamp set and Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper. I LOVE this paper! Gorgeous fall colors and pop of metallic foil…swoon! I especially love the elegant look of Mint Macaron paired with copper foil accents.

Color Combo:

For this card, I used a few other products from this Suite, including the Brushed Metallic Cardstock and Basket Weave/Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack. I also added some embossed details to the layers to really play off all of the textures throughout the card. I also snuck in some leafy branches from the Sunflower Dies for some added “foliage”. I use those little branches a LOT because they add just that little bit of extra detail without being too bulky.

The sentiment and the Mint Macaron leaves are stamped in Versamark and heat embossed using copper embossing powder. Guess what? I didn’t remember until I was putting together the supply list for this card that copper embossing powder is RETIRED. However, it is not a difficult product to find out there in the crafty world, so I’m sure you could easily track some down if you don’t have any. You could always use Soft Suede ink as an alternative, too. Easy solution!

Card Measurements and Details:

Mint Macaron Card Base: 4 1/4” x 11”, scored at 5 1/2”
Soft Suede Cardstock: 4” x 5 1/4”
Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper: 3 7/8” x 5 1/8”
Brushed Metallic Foil (copper): 2 1/2” x 3 7/8”, emboss using Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and cut at an angle to layer over the DSP
Mint Macaron Cardstock: 2 1/4” x 1 1/2”, emboss using floral pattern from Greenery Embossing Folder, cut at an angle to layer over the DSP and sponge edges using Soft Suede ink
Vellum Cardstock: scrap to die cut three single leafy sprigs and one double leafy sprigs from the Sunflowers Dies
Mint Macaron Cardstock: scrap to stamp three of the leafy images in Versamark Ink, heat emboss in copper, then cut the leaves out of the cardstock leaving a slightly border around the outside of the images
Whisper White Cardstock: scrap to stamp the sentiment in Versamark Ink, heat emboss in copper and then die cut using the 2 3/4” (second largest) oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies
Basket Weave and Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack and Champagne Rhinestones
Whisper White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5 1/4”
Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper (inside card): 1” x 5 1/4"

Finally a peek inside the card. I added a strip of that gorgeous DSP along with an embossed sentiment and leaf accent. Simple, yet so pretty!
