August 15th – Happy Birthday to us!

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, etc.

I had an idea to put together a small montage of people who share my birthday but then I remembered some other people and, having checked to see if there are others who I was not aware of, I have now created this collection of eighteen.

Top: Anne, Oscar, Jen, Nic, Tony and Ben
Middle: Jim, Napoleon, Con, Louisa, Jimmy and Jack
Bottom: Walter, Matt, Meshe, Samuel, Edith and Thomas

Hmmm.. a lot of names beginning with J there. And I haven't included myself of my friend Julie.

Birthday fun at London Zoo (ZSL)

I share my birthday with many people including Princess Anne, Ben Affleck, Oscar Peterson and Napoloeon Bonaparte but, best of all, with my friends' lovely daughter Dorothy.
This year she turned six and I began another in my prime and we spent the afternoon with Dot's parents at London Zoo (ZSL).
What a great day – giraffes, reptiles, penguins, lemurs, gorillas, pigmy hippos, hunting dogs and more.

I always thought Peter Gabriel sang "Dotty plays with Jane". But having just checked, it's Lotte. The song then goes on to say that Jane played with someone else and is happy again. Fnar.

I am 4

May 1st is the 4th birthday of Jane's London.
Here is my first post. Hit the newer button at the bottom to see the previous posts... it appears I posted quite a lot on day 2.
It was the Holloway Road that set this whole thing in motion; I used to talk to local people about things along the main road and most of them didn't know what I was going on about, so initially I'd planned to put together a small book of A1 Holloway Road and Upper St photos, but once I started I realised I'd created a small monster, so the beast grew to cover a wider area.
Here are some 4s or pictures with four things in them (but no candles):

28 April 2011

Friday 29th April 2011 is a special day

This Friday is the anniversary of Hair opening on Broadway, James Cook arriving at Botany Bay, and 6 years since Syria pulled out of Lebanon.
29th April is David Icke's birthday. Daniel Day Lewis' too. And Michell Pfeiffer's, Uma Thurman's and Phil Tufnell's, to name a few more.
It's also International Dance Day and the start of Golden Week in Japan.
Oh, and there's wedding going on somewhere in central London.
I'd have written more about it but it's hard to find any info.
And here's a fact I just heard; in 2 weeks time, on May 13th, the Queen will become the second-longest reigning monarch in British history, having by then been on the throne for 21,645 days, knocking George III into 3rd position. Our longest reigning monarch was Victoria. Liz'll have to put in another 1,577 days to steal the title. 4 years and 4 months and counting...

Happy birthday to me

It's my birthday on Saturday, something I share with Princess Anne, Napoleon, and my friends Julie and Val.
I don't really 'do' the star sign thing but I'll use any excuse to put a collection of London images together, so here are some Leos.
There are some weird ones about. A lot of them appear ugly or confused when I think they were meant to look ferocious. Others look dim or fey. You might recognise a few of them. Here's my complete set.
Anyway, it looks like the weather is going to be sunny this weekend so my previous posting about sun motifs seems to have worked...
