BUNNY HOP SNOWGLOBE WITH SHAKERS | with Guest Designer Lisa Fonseca

Hey lovely scrappy peeps, today I'm sharing my last post for Doodlebug... for now... we'll see what the future brings :) I want to thank Doodlebug again and all the people in the team for these amazing three years, I have loved it :) For this project I created a snow globe using the new amazingly cute DIY Snow Globes. They are ready to fill and decorate, wooden Snow Globes ...just a such a cool idea.

I wanted to build a few layers with the Bunny Hop papers inside the globe. I ripped the papers and used foam tape to attach them together and create a dimensional scene. Then I added Doodle Pops and stickers.  I love the Doodle Pops since they are also dimensional a gave the whole scene a very cool look. I also added some shaped sprinkles and jewels.

For the filling and shaker part, I used the new super amazing Shakers. They come in all the Doodlebug colors and there are also shapes for different Doodlebug Themes. I used a few colors and put them into the globe, then closed it up from behind.

To add even more dimension, I added a few stickers on top of the glass and a few shaped sprinkle flowers on top of the globe, on the wooden frame. I think it's just so cute. The cool part is that you can always switch out the inside and create a new scene for any chosen theme.

I really recommend trying out the shakers, they are super fun to use. Thank you for stopping by and reading my posts from time to time. It's farewell for now, I hope you'll follow along my future adventures on my Instagram. See you... ;)

MADE WITH LOVE YOU"RE AS SWEET AS CUPCAKES LAYOUT | with Lisa

Are you the kind of person that loves inviting friends over and preparing food and spending amazing moments together? I definitely am and this week I'm sharing a layout using one of the photos I took on such a night. The Made with Love collection was perfect to document this cute photo...

For this layout, I first chose the five patterned papers I wanted to use for my strips. I kind of created this rainbow look, going from yellow to red... (yeah... like I said... kind of... no really though :) To have this messy look, I ripped the paper, instead of cutting it. I love it when you can see the white ripped borders. So when I was done adhering the strips, I went back and folded over the edges to create texture and dimension.

I matted my photo on four different pieces of patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad and adhered it to the layout using foam tape. For the decoration, I wanted icons that went with the cupcake theme, since I wanted to use the word "cupcakes" in my title. I chose ingredients and utensils that were cupcake-making related, from the Odds & Ends. To make the white borders a bit smaller, I trimmed them off a bit and then distressed the edges.

I started placing the embellishments on the layout and when I was happy with the result, I adhered them using small foam dots. Then I went and chose some Doodle Pops, jewels and enamel shapes to add. I loooove the the teeny tiny jimmies and Hershey's kisses and the cracked egg... so cuuute! :)  As you can see on the photos, the layout has a lot of dimension, which I really love!

For my title, I wanted to use "cupcakes" as main word so I wrote the word on a patterned paper and cut it out, adhered it to white paper and cut it out again. I love that outlined look. For the rest of the title, I chose letters from the Abigail, Sunshine and Alphabet Soup alphas. Love having a big range of different fonts and colors to choose from for my titles. See you soon scrappy peeps...!

LOTS OF LOVE LAYOUT | with Lisa

We're almost back to Valentine's Day, so it's time to get those pink and red collections out of your drawers! :) This week I'm using Lots of Love for this cute Love layout.

I love to fussy cut things out of paper, so I decided to go with the Forever Flowers paper and relax a bit while cutting out a lot of little flowers. My idea was to create a heart with them.

At first, I wanted the heart to be straight and be in the center of the page but when I put my photo on top, I changed my mind and placed everything the way you see it on the page now.

When I had everything where I wanted it, I adhered my photo to a piece of white card stock and then to a piece of the Forever Flowers paper. I distressed the edges and laid the photo on the page without adhering it.

Then I started to place all of my little flowers, creating the shape of a heart.  I tried to keep the same distance between the left edge of the heart and the edge of the paper, as the right edge of the photo and the right edge of the paper. I love my things to be balanced... :)

I adhered the photo first, and then all of the flowers. I bent all of the flowers in the center to create dimension. Then I added tiny enamel hearts and jewels from the collection in the small gaps in between the flowers.

I just love how it looks!  It really turned out very cute. To give the layout more color,  I cut out 4 strips of paper from the Sprinkled with Love  paper to create a frame. I also used a fine black pen to add a scribbly line all around.

To finish, I added a title, three ladybug Doodle Pops and some gold splatters.

See you soon and happy Valentine's Day :)

SNOW MUCH FUN SNOW COLD LAYOUT | with Lisa

Are you all having fun taking snow photos? Or is it Summer where you live right now? Well... I think everyone knows I'm a huge fan of Summer, but... when it snows and everything is white, I really love the atmosphere and calmness outside. This year, as soon as it looked like that, I took some photos in the snow to be ready for Winter layouts next year... :)

For this layout, which is kind of a matching layout to the one I made two weeks ago, I used another photo of that Winter wedding I went to a few years ago.

I used the super fun Snow Much Fun collection and created kind of a snowy scene with a big paper-pieced snowman and his friends. To start, I ripped pieces of the Snow Much Fun  and Frozen Flurries papers and used those for the hills and sky. I distressed the edges and then bent them over a bit to give them more texture. I love doing this, because the edges cast a small shadow on the paper and it really makes a big difference in the end result.

I created a paper pieced snowman using white cardstock and two pieces of patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad. I love giving my paper pieced characters a black outline, so I did that on my snowman as well as on the other die cut pieces I chose, the Yeti and the snow fox.

I matted my photo on two rectangles of paper from the 6x6 paper pad and distressed those edges too. I added the photo to the layout and then started adding my cuties. From the Odds & Ends pack, I used the fox and Yeti and also some green trees. Then I used puffy snowmen heads, puffy snowflakes and puffy trees from the Puffy Icon Stickers.

I cut out two clouds from white paper to add to the sky and then added more snowflake stickers and some jewels. For my title I used the word "snow" from he Chit Chat pack and black Sunshine Alpha stickers to write the word "cold".

I'm not used to make layouts that have no pink in them but I really have to say that the colors of this collection are just tooooo cute!!! :) See you soon... this time back with pink layouts... can you guess the theme??? :)

SNOW MUCH FUN WINTER CHILLIN' LAYOUT | with Lisa

Happy new year everyone!!! I'm wasting no time and diving right into winter layouts... Today I'm sharing a layout I created with the amazing Snow Much Fun collection.

I have to be honest... I had to go back a few years to find a photo that suited this collection and layout. There hasn't been a lot of snow this year and the day there was snow, I forgot to take pictures... :) So on this photo, you can see me with a friend as we spent time at Schwarzwald in Germany where we went to for a wedding.

To start, I ripped off irregular strips of 4 different patterned papers from the collection. I love the colors in this collection and the four colors look so good together. I stacked them one on top of the other and distressed the ripped edges a bit, to give the scene more texture.

Next, I went through the embellishments and chose a few favorites. It's always so much fun going through everything in the Doodlebug collections, you have soooo many things to choose from... sometimes I even have a hard time deciding... haha!

I chose a few Doodle Pops and adhered them to my scene.  I also added the little hearts and snowflakes that were part of the Doodle Pops packages.  I matted my photo with 4 random rectangles of patterned paper and added it to the layout.

I went through the Odds & Ends pack and chose snowflakes, clouds, trees and a little bunny. I cut off a bit of the white borders and added them to the layout.

Then I went in with some metallic water colors and added some teal, pink and purple around the photo and clouds. I love the dimension it gives the layout. I also sprinkled pink and purple watercolor all over the layout.

For my title, I chose two words form the Chit Chat pack. I added pink color to the inside of the word "Winter". To finish, I added some jewels... I always use the jewels...they make everything look a thousand times better... :) I hope you had a great start in the new year and are ready to scrap some winter photos!

GINGERBREAD KISSES JOLLY & MERRY CARDS | with Lisa

I know a lot of people LOVE making cards... I have to say, I'm not really one of those people... For me it has always been more fun to create mini albums and layouts. But, once in a while, I have a fun idea for a card and I really enjoy making it. So for this project, I created two cards with big sentiments using the Gingerbread Kisses collection.

I love making layouts with super big letters, so for these cards, I used that technique, where I hand-cut letters out of patterned papers, without pre-drawing them... I just go for it :)

I cut out the letters, for the words Jolly and Merry (for the sentiments "Holly Jolly" and "Merry Christmas"), from the patterned papers of the 6x6 paper pad. Then I adhered them to a 4 1/2 inch strip using foam tape and then cut off the excess piece of the strip.

I added that piece of paper to a card base I created from patterned paper, making it slightly bigger than the strip with the letters, so that a border would peek out from all of the sides.

To make everything stand out more from the paper behind it (because there are a lot of layered patterns...), I traced black scribbly borders around the letters, the strip and the base.

I then took the puffy stickers (which are a newer product I love!!!) and added them here and there on top of the letters. I also added some gold sprinkles from the Hello Again collection.

To finish the sentiment, I added Alphabet Soup stickers in Gold to the card. I hope you enjoy the holidays,  or just this cozy wintertime.  See you in the new year!

GINGERBREAD KISSES CHRISTMAS COCOA DOODLECUTS GIFT CARD HOLDERS | with Lisa

This week I was in the mood for a different kind of crafting. My favorite thing to make are layouts, but sometimes you just want to switch things up. When I saw the cute Christmas Cocoa Doodle Cuts from the Gingerbread Kisses collection, I knew I wanted to create some kind of little pockets or gift card holders, so that's what I did!

I made these during a workshop day at my house. While the attendees, were occupied creating their first layout, I started cutting out all of the pieces. There are quite a few pieces in this die set, but it's relaxing choosing colors and preparing all of the parts!  I made one traditional Santa and one Santa in pink. I LOVE this color combo and I think it just looks so cool. I really love this die set.

When I was done with all the pieces, I glued everything together and added a black border, white highlights and pink cheeks to the Santas and gingerbread men.  I drew a mitten shape and cut it out of four different patterned papers. The pink and red ones, called Berry Floral and Christmas Jammies and for the back sides, I used the brown side of Baking Spirits Bright and the back side of Berry Floral.

I stitched both sides together and added the white furry part on the bottom. Before I adhered the mugs to the mittens, I created two rosettes out of Sugarplums and Holiday Sprinkles papers. I don't particularly like the process of creating rosettes, but I LOVE the end result and I love adding them to layered crafts.

For some more decoration, I added shaped sprinkles, jewels and some word stickers from the This & That Cardstock Stickers. I also sprinkled gold ink on both of the mittens.

I just love this mug full of happiness and I'm sure I will create more of these... ;) The bottom part of the mittens is open, so you add money, a gift card or a letter! I hope you are inspired to create your own little gifts using this die set. See you soon...

HOME SWEET HOME ALBUM HELLO AGAIN MINI | with Lisa

This week, I allowed myself a small break from Christmas scrapping and used one of my favorite Doodlebug collections , the wonderful Hello Again!  I used it to decorate my Home Sweet Home chipboard album.

This would be such a cool gift for friends and family!  Whether they just moved into a new house,  or to document the first year or special occasion in a new house, it's perfect! The vibes of the Hello Again collection are sooo happy and fun and like I said a few times already, I LOVE all the gold in it.

To make the cutting of the pattern papers for the pages easier and faster this time, I created cut files and let my Silhouette do the cutting work :) For the curtains, I just cut out triangles and adhered them to the back of the windows. I also used hanging flowerpot stickers to add behind the windows, looks cute... :)

As a tassel, I added shimmering tulle to one of the binding rings, (which I replaced by teal ones) and I also added two little charmers!

Let's take a peek into the album...

Some journaling spots and die cuts...

A piece of the lovely gold dotted acetate...

For the pages of the album, I tried to an assortment of the embellishments from the collection. I also cut out a page from the gold dots acetate sheet. I love the page with the dimensional butterflies and the pink one with all the stickers around the borders.  I added some tulle on two of the pages, which I think looks so cute. I always need to think of leaving some space for the photos, otherwise I would never stop decorating and wouldn't have any pages left for photos... ;) Try making your own Home Sweet Home album, it's so much fun! See you soon...

ADVENT CALENDAR HOUSE SANTA & REINDEER COUNTDOWN | with Lisa

After Halloween, I'm happy to go right into the Halloween-Christmas transition phase. I'm not the Christmas-starts-on-November-first-kinda-lady, but I'm always happy to start creating with a new collection! This time, we got the amazingly cool Advent Calendar House and I tried to embellish mine as cute as I possibly could... :)

To start  I used acrylic paint to paint the whole thing in Christmas colors with an ombre effect. I let that dry and in the meantime, I machine cut the parts for the Christmas Magic Santa on Reindeer SVG.

When they were done, I assembled them and added details, like cheeks, highlights, scribbled borders... The reindeer also got a gold bow and Santa got some cute little hanging legs, which I made with paper beads.

I added gold glitter paper around the chimney and also added white and gold splatters to the house.

For my drawers, I wanted to add knobs, rather than use the half circle to open.  I cut squares from 4 colors of Sprinkles Petite Prints and adhered them to the drawers, covering the hole. For the draw pulls,  I used different beads and adhered them with hot glue.

I used Abigail, Alphabet Soup and Sunshine Alpha stickers for my box numbers. Then I added two Doodle Pops, enamel stickers, enamel dots and jewels to the drawers.

I hand-cut letters in white cardstock to spell NOEL and added it to the roof.  I also die-cut  big stars in gold to add to the roof as well. The last thing I added is a scalloped  border, using the same gold glitter paper. I also added smoke coming out of the chimney with some fiberfill! Cute!

Now, I only need to fill my house with the cutest little things from Doodlebug and it's ready to go! I hope you have fun decorating your own Advent calendar! :)
