looking forward

New Year's Resolution is a commitment that an individual reforms a habit, often a lifestyle change which is advantageous to oneself. Moving on from there, goals, dreams, wish list naturally evolves.

On the flip side, the dialogues exchanged between people includes, “Times are so bad now lar, duno when I am going to lose my job sial!”, “Unhappy with my work leh, but cannot resign, hiring are frozen in many company”.

Life plateau exponentially(oxymoron) after I stepped into this phase of life. I have practically nothing to looking forward to at all. Nothing to sweep me off my feet in the coming 2009. Pay rise promised eons ago was frozen, promotion can’t happen when many are laid off at this economy crisis, without cash, nothing much can be done. No goals, no wish no hope this coming year. Or in fact, no reason to have one at all. Or, no motivation to even think about it. 

Marching into a platitudinous year... :(

Took 1:31m to complete my 10Km race.

Moving on to day 4, I have a little sweet thing waiting in the parcel for me..

It's a "chou chou". 

My chiroprac Doc have actually instructed to bundle a thick towel and place it at the arch of my neck every night. However, being the busy...Erm.. lazy me? I only did it just once when I was at bubs place. And he is the one who did it for me. *giggles*

Now that he know that I'm dragging my feet to pull the towel off my wardrope, he decided to invest in this little pillow, which is suppose to be the acting towel in terms of softness and thickness.  This bring complete convenience to the laazy me.

You are just soooo thoughtful...

The mysterious parcel from the sweet you

8 letter all in all for 8 days

Day one is a just an instructional piece of whats up for me in the next 7 days

As I moved on to Day 2...

It was a dream catcher, to chase away all nightmares with only sweet dreams of you..

Wanted to open my third letter before I march to Esplanade for my long awaited 10Km run today, however, was rushing around to pack my stuffs, thus, left the house hurriedly.

On the contrary, luckily I didn't open it, because...

omgosh! 

The reason for this:

me (using iphone; can't delete any messages unless you delete all): bbb.... I duno what I press (whining badly), I accidentally deleted all your msgs. :(...... 

This silly boy of mine actually copied all our texts from his mobile with all the conversation we had for the past one month or 2.

My heart sank especially when I knew that he went through nights of writing before he left for Japan. No wonder he has been turning in late. :( Poor boy..

So silly bubs.. You know how much I appreciate all this from you.

Standard Chartered Maration 2008

Ambitiously signed up without second thoughts with J@net to participate in the 10Km Stand chart run at the early this year.

We met up at 715am at Eunos MRT and  head forth to her office to park our bags.

The run started...

Just before I hit the 5km mark, my thighs and calves were cramming on the way up sheares bridge. I wasn't prepared for a slopping jog as I normally do my runs in Gym. Having stitches too. 

Had been jogging at night most of the time, therefore the sun is a little unbearable for me. 

However, I still manage to finish in 1.5 hours. Slow and steady.

me (panting at the last 1 KM): Jan, this is the longest 1KM ever!!!

Here is me, conquered my first 10Km run.

Am I MAD OR clearly NUTS!!!

But it's a long overdued session with zq and zh. I enjoyed it completely although we are using guy's net and there is NO FEMALE Being at all. 

After dinner, I decided to take a cab home with zh. Being the irritating and with his absolute stupidity, he open a can of worms with the cab driver! 

Long story short, the driver was telling us about how LAO HERO he was in the past, and how he managed to have 3 divorce epsidoe and had a woman killed someone because of him. He was also telling us how charming he was when he was young.

He went on and on and on till I step foot on my void deck.. 

Me: Uncle, can pay by nets?

him: (direct translation) you already step onto the bus and paid you ticket later, what can I do?

me: uncle, learn from you ma! Since you also did that in the past

*he went speechless

At least I manage to shut him out the very last moment. *phew* 

What a complete muse!

(7.45pm)As I reached home, my face kissed the pillow almost immeditately. Wanted to do a 14 hour sleep but was awaken by the screaming kids. :(

Going back to my dreams soon as I promised to meet you at Tokyo airport tonight. See you in half an hour bubs.

a mysterious parcel

Got a parcel sitting on my table when I came home. I knew the moment it was you when mum called. I'm sorry she exposed you as she is more eager to find out what's within before I was even aware of its presence.

It was a sweet parcel containing a total of 8 letters and a few gifts. I eagerly open one that read "Day 1" but I was STRICTLY instructed not to open the rest of the letters which are dated 2 to 8. I shall be a good girl and undress my daily surprises that you create. Will also blog my beautiful surprises as I unveal each pretty envelope daily.

Technically it's day 2(12.54am) and I should be licensed to read the next one, but I shall refrain and save the surprise for tomorrow so that I would not have to wait for another 24 hours before I can read the next.

Thanks for your sweet thoughts, to make sure I have something to look forward to each day rather than feeling gloomy each day without your presence.

From an unhappy start of the year with whirlwind, unstable career to hopeful new job and now a nightmare awaiting recession.

From the hope to shift out of home to a "I'm still staying at home. ~duh~" This "hope" shall be post-poned to next year. Depending on my next career shift which means a possible climb in the corporate ladder which equades to a little more cash on hand to stay out.

It was a joyous however extremely tiring day for me.

Although there are family politics involved which made me kinda devastated, but I am really glad that our generation are out of this. We are really knitted together. It's really a rare chance that we can come together, have fun, drink and celebrate a joyous occasion like this. All thanks to Bren. We won't want to meet up due to anyone's passing which is usually the case for family gathering especially when everyone is scattered all over the world. 

I wish for another joyous occasion when we can all gather again. I'm going to miss you all so muchhh...
