Click here to link up your challenge entries

Challenge deadline: Thursday, Feb. 19.
Prize: $40 gift voucher to the Verve online store!

For my card today - I drew inspiration from the colors in the inspiration pic (pink, gray and white) and also the sweet hearts that are coming out of the pitcher - so for my card I used the little heart dies From The Heart (die set) to create a banner and the Jotted Heart die (larger heart die) to stamp on the sentiment from the More than Love stamp set

I also used the sketch from the Mojo Monday sketch #383 for this week: love how this card turned out:

Here is a close up of the card - I created a banner by adhering the hearts on dimensionals and then added a line of liquid pearls above them to give the illusion of string - and then tied some twine on the ends of the banner as well as adding some pearls around the card:

Card Ingredients:
StampsMore than Love stamp set from Verve stamps
Papers: pink DP from Stash, Metallic gray and silver cardstock
Inks: Angel Pink and Rose Red ink from Memento inks
A Cut Above Dies from Verve: From The Heart (die set) to create a banner and the Jotted Heart die (larger heart die) on which I stamped the sentiment

Accessories: liquid pearls, MS chunky glitter, pearls, corner rounder, foam dimensionals and white gel pen

I loved making this fun Valentine's Day card and can't wait to see what everyone else has created:

Verve Divas Inspiration Hop - January 2013

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to our January Diva Inspirations Hop!  Today the Divas are dusting off some Verve favorites and putting on our monthly hop to inspire you with a fresh new spin on the stamps in our stash! So grab a drink and hop along as we share a little Verve with you! There's a great little prize involved, too! A random commenter on one of the hops will win a $30 gift certificate to VERVE, so be sure to leave a little love in the comment section as you hop about! You can find out all the prize details over on the Verve Blog today.

For my project today I used the darling stamp set: Sweet Valentine to create a little valentine's day card using some vellum and some EP Your's Truly papers. I love this happy font - the swirls and the hearts are just so sweet! I adhered the two background papers (the red/white and the gray papers) and then cut out a circle in the middle with my spellbinders. I then turned the circle around so that the gray side was down and then popped it up over the cut circle area and added the sentiment "happy valentine's day" on top of that. The stamps were cut and popped up again over the sentiment:
I also stamped the larger joined hearts on vellum paper and then outlined the heart shapes with a white gel pen and then attached them around the sentiment and one at the bottom. I added a line of scallops at the top and then penned a line of faux stitching with the gel pen. Here is another angle of the card:

All of Julee's creations are so lovely - and stay tuned there is some New Verve on the way to ring in the New Year!!! I really enjoy going back and stamping my older Verve sets and I can't wait to see what all sets and creations these lovely ladies have used in their projects today! Please hop with me and check them out!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Ciao for now,
Sankari :)

VLV Febsketch2: You Make My Heart Flutter

Hi Everyone,

I am so sorry to have been MIA - I have been having a series of health related problems that are making it a bit difficult to craft - the last two weeks have been full of daily difficulties - I am trying to take it easy - and make sure that the stress level is low - but that is pretty difficult with a full time job outside the home and a full time family life at home - sigh! I am always happy when I have a few moments to get my craft on - and this week, I am the hostess for the Viva La Verve (VLV) Sketch challenge on SCS and to the left is the sketch that I drew up (and Julee made super Verve-y purrrty!) for this week.

I used the vertical  strips in the sketch to create a line of hearts that then I added a line of buttons strung together with twine and tied in a bow at the top and added the sentiment "You make my heart flutter" from the super cute stamp set Twitterpated created by the super awesome Julee :)

Card Ingredients:
Paper: MME and card stock from PTI
Stamps: Twitterpated from Verve Stamps
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: heart punch from Martha Stewart, twine, buttons, glue dots, dimensionals, sponger, red tacky tape, corner chomped, prima red rose bud, paper clip

Each Friday, there will be a VLV sketch posted and playing along with the sketch and uploading it to the SCS gallery with the keyword VLVFeb2012 will upload your card into the Feb. VLV gallery. Completing all 4 sketches in the month of February will be eligible to win this month's prize!! YAY! Please check out all the details here!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Big hugs!
Sankari :)

Verve January Spotlight: Day 3

Welcome to our January 2012 Spotlight Hops!  Hop along with the Divas over the next few days as we share our first looks at a few of the new products releasing from Verve this Friday night!  One lucky commenter from each day's hop will win the sets and dies featured that day, so be sure and leave a little love in the Divasphere! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize details and deadlines.

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the 3rd day of sneak peeks from the newest Verve Release (which will be releasing tonight!) Today the Divas are peeking a couple of new dies and stamps and I am peeking from probably the cutest little stamp set called: Twitterpated (dontcha just love that name!) It has the cutest sentiments and the sweetest little boy and girl.

I chose to create a card with the cute little girl - because she looks just like my little girl - those cheeks and that black hair! so cute! I created a little house for her with different papers and scored the roof and sponged it and then created a little window for her to peek out of. I colored her in with copics and added a little glaze to her hair :) and some rose to her cheeks!

Card ingredients:
Paper: Cosmo Cricket: Clementine, PTI cardstock
Stamps: Twitterpated by Verve Stamps
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Ladybug Red
Accessories: Grass punch, heart and star punch from Martha Stewart, mini heart punch, liquid pearls, copics and dimensionals.

I loved making inking up this sweet little girl - I am so in love with her cuteness! And I can't wait to see what the rest of the design team has created with these sweet and awesome stamps and dies! Please check out all of their beautiful creations:

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to Day 2 of the January Verve Spotlights where today we are peeking one of my favorite stamp sets: Wings of Love! (And, I think I have the song "on the wings of love" going around and around in my head constantly!!! AND whenever I sing, I am told that I really do not sound very good! lol!) Anyhoo - Julee has created such a fantabulous stamp set perfect for Valentine's Day and beyond and dies to coordinate!!

I stamped the heart with the sweet wings and then popped it up over the same image. I cut out the heart with the Wavy Hearts Die set from Verve Stamps and then added the sentiment "my angel" in the middle. The rest of the card was trimmed with hearts, lace and scalloped fans and a small edge of liquid pearls.

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Echo Park: Yours Truly
Stamps: Wings of Love by Verve Stamps
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Wavy Hearts Die set (Verve Stamps), EK success scalloped fan border punch, lace, bling and mini hearts, liquid glaze, corner chomper, liquid pearls, spellbinder's, jumbo eyelets, CM tag punch and ribbon from stash

I love the feel of this stamp set - so many lovely combos of hearts and sentiments and I can't wait to see what all the lovely ladies have created with this gorgeous stamp set:

Taylored Expressions January Release Day!!

Hi Everyone!

Today is release day over at Taylored Expressions and its a partaaay full of super cute awesome and amazing stamp sets, dies and the Valentine Project Pantry. For my project today, I created a little gift set using the Rosey Posey stamp set and the Heart Favor die. I love this beautiful stamp set - it has open roses (for coloring) and closed roses for direct ink stamping. I layered the sentiment over the Layering Doily -Large die from Taylored Expressions using all elements from the Valentine's Project Pantry. Here are the new dies that I used to create this set:

I chose to use both roses with the sentiment - "A single rose can be my garden, a single friend my world".

I love the beautiful flowers and the sentiments in this set are just lovely! Here is another peek at the favor box - loved adding a little rose at the top! Here is a closer look:

VLV FebSketch #3 - You're So Amazing!

Hi Everyone,

Every Friday over at SCS, there is a new Viva La Verve sketch to play along with and this week the VLV Sketch #3 for Feb 2011, is hosted by the lovely Teresa Klines with this beautiful sketch! I love all the fun elements in this card and couldn't wait to sit down and create a little somethin' somethin' :) But the only problem was that once I started creating a card, it kinda took a mind of its own and then when I looked down I realized that kinda interpreted the sketch kind of "loosely" :D .
I used the lovely Sweet Treats and Amazing Wishes stamp set from Verve Stamps and created a little background using the Jotted Heart Die from Verve. It was fun to create the little envelope and then have the sentiment fly out from it and then surround the sentiments with some glittered hearts:

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Create Paper and PTI stamps
Stamps:  Sweet Treats and Amazing Wishes stamp set from Verve Stamps
Ink: Rich Coco from Memento
Accessories: liquid pearls, ribbon from stash, Jotted Heart Die from Verve Stamps, heart punch from MS, EK success punch, dimensionals, bling, glitter and hat pin

I really loved making this card - it was sooo lovely to get some stamp therapy today and I can't wait to see all the lovely creations that have been created with this great sketch over at the gallery.

Check out this post to get the scoop on how to play all 4 sketches this month and how if you do that - you could win some yummy Verve stamps!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
YOU guys are so amazing!!!
Lots of happy wishes for a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,
Sankari :)

Love Birds in a Wreath of Love

HI Everyone,

I had a chance this morning to play - just for fun - in my craft area :) I love when that happens and I have to say that it was such a great form of therapy!

I created this card using one of the sweetest little Petite Stamps called: Wreath of Love from Taylored Expressions that was released in January. I adore these two little love birds in the nest and the sentiment : "You're Welcome in my Nest Anytime" totally cracks me up! ha!  I paired the sentiments and image with the large frame from the New Beginnings stamp set. I used all the accessories and papers from the January Key Ingredients kit (you can see more projects with this kit on the KI blog). The colors in this kit are so happy and bright and makes me yearn for spring! :)

It was fun to add some sparkle to the hearts and pop the birds in the nest on top of the wreath. I added a little trio of buttons to the bottom and a line of the ribbon on the edges of the image panel.

 Card ingredients:
Paper: All papers are from the Key Ingredients kit from January from Taylored Expressions
Stamps: Wreath of Love and New Beginnings from Taylored Expressions
Ink: RoseRed and Bamboo Leaves and Tuxedo black from Memento
Accessories: heart punch from MS,EK success punch, liquid pearls, dimensionals, stickles and copics

I popped up the center of the frame and finished it off with some sponging and liquid pearls. It was so much fun to make this card - and I love getting some stamping in the early hours of the morning! what a great way to start the day :) Well, I am off to an exciting day filled with laundry, dishes and vacuuming ( I know I know, its so exciting around here)!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope that you have a wonderful rest of your weekend and a great start to your week tomorrow!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)

VLV Sketch #4 - Be Mine

HI Everyone,

Today is Friday and that means that there is a brand new Viva La Verve Sketch happenin! And I am so excited to be hosting the last sketch for January (make sure to check out all the Verve sketches for January here!) and when I drew up the sketch - I had one person in mind - dearest Marisa who is definitely NOT a fan of any panels that tilt! The last time I did a VLV sketch - it had a tilted panel and I think I could hear her groan when she saw it :D  so when I was drawing the sketch for this week's sketch challenge - I tried to make one without a tilted panel in honor of you dearest Marisa :)! Of course if you want to tilt a panel - please feel free to tilt away - all tilting welcome!
For my card today, I had to use Emery - I adore this little guy! I cut out the panels using my nesties and popped up Emery (whose belly I paper pieced) onto the center panel. I stamped a heart from the Love Notes stamp set,  paper pieced the cute kites from the To The Moon stamp set and used the sentiment: "Be Mine" from the Swirling Hearts stamp set

Card Ingredients:
Paper: MME and PTI cardstock
Stamps: the heart is from the Love Notes stamp set, the paper pieced kites are from To The Moon stamp set, the sentiment "Be Mine" is from the Swirling Hearts stamp set, Emery (Plain Jane) stamp image from Verve Stamps.
Ink: Rich Cocoa and Tuxedo Black from Memento Ink
Accessories: liquid pearls, EK success scallop punch, heart punch from MS, bling from stash, dimensionals, copics, ribbon from Emma's Papiere, nesties, baker's twine and red tacky tape.

I loved making this card - I think the best part of making it was having some time to myself last night - the kids were in bed, the house was quiet and all was good! I love those quiet moments :) I love this little Emery guy - and can't wait to make some more cards with him - he is just sooo very sweet!

Hope you will play along with the sketch challenge! One person who completes all 4 of the VLV sketch challenges this month will win the entire Verve Release - you can check out the VLV page for more details on how to win lots of yummy Verve!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)

Blast From the Past Blog Hop #7 - Taylored Expressions

Hi everyone,

Every month Taylored Expressions hosts a Blast from the Past Blog Hop - where all TE fans can sign up for the blog hop and use their fave TE stamps from previous releases. This month, the theme was to create something with "Love is in the Air" and I knew that I wanted to use the cutest little elephants from the Stamps A La Carte Elephants in Love.  I love these cute elephants and love that they are showering everyone with hearts :)

I used the sketch from this month's Blast From The Past and used the new Be Mine DP from Echo Park - love the grays in this collection! I stamped the ellie heart image onto the Snow White Choice cardstock. I paper pieced some of the hearts and then colored the rest of the hearts and the cute ellies with copics. After finishing, I finished with my clear spica glitter and applied a few epoxy hearts to the stamped image.  I cut out the stamped image using the Taylored Dies: Take Note Die -3 and stamped the sentiment "showered with love" and made it a wavy flag. I had fun with the white opal liquid pearls and finished off the card with a trio of hearts on the bottom of the card:

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Echo Park:  Be Mine DP and Snow White Choice cardstock
Stamps: Elephants in Love stamp from Taylored Expressions
Ink: Tuxedo Black ink
Accessories: heart epoxy stickers and ribbon from stash, Take Note Die -3,  dimensionals, EK success punch, white opal liquid pearls and clear spica glitter.

I loved stamping these cute elephants! All of the animals in love stamps are so cute - you can check them out here.  Also check out THIS POST on Taylor's blog for details on some special products over at Taylored Expressions that are on a Special VALENTINE's SALE from now through the 23rd of January to get you into the Valentine's Day crafting mood!!

There are so many amazing crafters who are playing along with this month's Blast from the Past - so hop on over with me and check them all out and if you leave a comment during the blog hop - you could  AND A PRIZE! We will be drawing one random hopper to receive a FREE Taylored Expressions set of their own - and we'll also be choosing another creation to be featured in an upcoming TE newsletter. Stay tuned to Taylor's blog for more details about the next Blast From the Past!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Always and Forever - FireCracker Designs

Good Morning Everyone,

Happy Monday! This is the third week of being a Guest Designer for FireCracker Designs - where this month I am truly loving playing with the beautiful stamp set: Parisian Romance - all of the images and sentiments are tres romantic! I love this fleur de lis stamp set which was so much fun to color in (I tried to give it a gradient look of darker on the bottom to lighter on the top) and also simply loved the font on this sentiment. Initially, I had a black ribbon for the card, but somehow it felt too much so I thought maybe a silver one might be better?
Here is a closer peek at the card - I loved giving the fleur de lis an extra shine with the crystal lacquer and then adding some bling with some rhinestones (one little tip is to add some TomBow to your rhinestones for a more assured stickiness :)

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Prism Cardstock and Bazzil bascis
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Brilliance silver
Accessories: copics, sakura glaze, liquid glaze, rhinestones from Kaiser, cuttlebug embossing folder, heart punch from MS, EK success punch and tombow adhesive

I really loved making this card - and can't wait to give it to DH for Valentine's Day! Maybe I should share my stamps with DH this year and ask for a homemade card too!!! If I do and if he does it - I will definitely post it on my blog!!! You can check out more of these wonderful stamps here and also check out Pamela's blog (the owner of Firecracker Designs). This month, Pamela is offering $2 off the purchase of this stamp set: A Parisian Romance with the coupon code "sankari " :)
Thank you so much Pamela!!!

Can you believe that we are more than halfway thru January? Is it me or is this month flying by?? Hope you are having a beautiful Monday!
Big hugs!
Sankari :)

Verve January Release - Day 2 of Sneak Peeks!

Good Morning Everyone!!!
Did you catch the start of the sneak peeks on the Verve Blog?! Julee has created some amazingly beautiful stamp sets for the release this Friday!!! Yesterday, the Divas kicked off the sneak peeks with some amazingly gorgeous samples! Today, we continue the sneak peeks with samples from the stamp set: Accent Notes! Check out the Verve Blog to check out what yumminesssssss Michelle, Tosh, Shannan have created for your viewing pleasure!!! I totally adore every stamp in this beautiful stamp set and here is my card using the Accent Notes set:

You know me and sunshine - I can't get enough of it (especially with all the weather that we have been having!) The background of the card is stamped with one of the beautiful filigree stamps that Julee has designed. I stamped the circle motif and spellbinded it out (can that be a new verb? lol!) and then popped up the sentiment on a circle that I had punched out. I created little rays with just some strips of yellow paper attached with glue dots - and then created some stripes on the bottom with a copic and a gel pen :). And for the final touch - a bit of bling, a strip of ribbon and some liquid pearls :)

I can't even tell you how I loved making this card! The release party for all the stamp sets that Julee will be releasing will be happening on Friday Night!!! And you could win some awesome Verve-y goodness too!! We have 5 challenges lined up for you - all you have to do is to complete a challenge and upload it (you can check out the Master thread for more info!). You can also do all 5 to be a Verve Champion! Here are all 5 challenges:

Challenge 1 :
Chipboard challenge brought to you by Michelle (upload with key word: VSJAN10A)
Challenge 2 :
A Valentine Favor challenge brought to you by ME!!! :) (upload with key word: VSJAN10B)
Challenge 3:
A color challenge brought to you by Amber (upload with key word: VSJAN10C)
Challenge 4:
A sketch challenge brought to you by Teresa (upload with key word: VSJAN10D)
Challenge 5

My challenge was to create a Valentine Favor Box! I created a cake slice favor box stuffed with Lindt Chocolates :) (which as Maureen was mentioning is a hard thing to make especially when you are trying to save enough chocolates for the picture you are going to take! lol!) I decorated a cake slice favor box that I had - but you can create one of your own with this template. Here is my favor box with a super sneaky sneak peek (more on this stamp set later this week!) from the stamp set called: Love's Flower which will also be released on Friday!

Here is a picture of the cake slice box from the side:
From the other side:

From the top:

And then when it is opened to reveal all the yummies within it :)
(see, I didn't eat the whole thing! (just most of it :)

I hope you enjoyed all the sneak peeks today! You can check out the Verve blog here for more information - and check out this Master thread on the SCS forum for more details as to how to play along!!!

2 Sketches 4 You - Happy Valentine's Day cards and a Bonus Sketch from ME!! :)

Good Morning Everyone,

Today over at 2 Sketches 4 You - Laura has a fantastic sketch for you and the sponsor this week is the Cutting Cafe. It was so much fun to play along with all of these beautiful sentiments and fonts and images!
I really loved this sketch - there can be so many ways that this sketch is interpreted!

I especially loved the printable stamps from the All About Valentine's Day stamp set. The one that caught my eye was one stamp that had so many beautiful sentiments in different directions all expressing different words associated with Valentine's Day. I have been loving the Valentine's paper from MME and love the fact that in photoshop, you can change the color of the digital stamp to match the color of the paper you are going to use. After coloring the different sentiments, I also created a row of flowers (also from the same set) and used it to create this card:
Card Ingredients:
Paper: MME and Prism deep red
Accessoires: heart punch from Martha, dimensionals, bling, sakura pen, Ek success punch, corner chomper, brads, flower punch and glue dots

AND guess what - this week I am in charge of creating a bonus sketch - YIKES! I am definitely not much of a sketch artisite in any way - but had fun with my hand it it... I came up with this sketch and then created the card to go along with it. I used the sweet little birdies kissing and the sentiment: YOU and Me and also printed out the square background with all of the little dots (you know me and dots!!) and the sweet hearts on it. I printed it out twice so that I had a chance to cut out the hearts and to pop them up on some dimensionals. It was really fun to create two cards from the same color scheme - and I am loving the yellow in these valentine papers from MME! it makes everything so bright and fun :)

Card Ingredients:
Paper: MME and Prism deep red
Accessories: heart punch from Martha, dimensionals, bling, sakura pen, Ek success punch, corner chomper, brads, flower punch and glue dots

I hope that you my little bonus sketch and that you will play along with us this week over at 2 Sketches 4 You!!! Hop on over there and take a peek at all the gorgeous creations from the Design Team and check out the yummy prize for the Card of the Week winner this week!!!

A big thanks to our wonderful sponsor The Cutting Cafe!! And a big thanks to you for stopping by today to say hello!!!
Have a wonderful Monday!!
Big hugs!
Sankari :)
