Verve Divas Inspiration Hop (March '14) - Where Dreams May Go!

Welcome to Verve's March Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's hopping time! This month we've got a fabulous challenge that's sure to put a string in your step! So in addition to a comment prize hidden along the hop, you can play along with the challenge and link up your creation for a chance to win another prize!
Our March challenge is Spring Has Sprung:

It's time to ditch the winter blues! Create a card that sings Spring using inspirational quotes, pretty colors and florals or themes that celebrate new life. Whether you draw inspiration from the graphic or blaze your own trail, just show us what spring means to you!

I love this challenge just because it gives me hope that spring is around the corner! I used the stamp set Blue Skies for this challenge (such a great stamp set! such great sentiments!!!) and stamped the sentiment onto the notebook image stamp in this set and followed the sketch for the Mojo Monday challenge #335 (holy moly - 335 sketches!) Here is my take on the sketch and this challenge:
Here is a close up of my spring card - a little flower, some pearls, twine and some lacy pennants (from the ek success border punch)- I highlighted the one with a blue copic:

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Blue Skies from Verve Stamps
Inks: London Fog, Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa
Papers: My Mind's Eye
Accessories: pearls, heart punch (mini), prima fairytale roses (teal), lace ribbon, foam dimensionals, ek success border punch, white sharpie gel pen, twine

I loved making this card - I seriously LOVE Julee's amazing stamps with these gorgeous fonts, sentiments and sweet images! Need a little inspiration? Check out the blogs linked below to see what the other Divas did with the challenge! It's sure to be a treat, and speaking of treats, we've got a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! I love this little guy - he is so cute with that little top hat! omgoodness!! I decided to keep the card layout a little simple and tried to do a little rustic CAS with this little guy :)

After coloring him, I popped him up on some dimensionals and onto the Sweet Scallop die from Verve stamps. I couldn't just stop at one card - he is tooooo cute - so I kept going and made some more cards mixing up some ribbons - they will totally come in handy in the next week or so while putting together teacher's gifts at school. HI Everyone!!!

Welcome to Verve's November Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's hopping time. If you are coming over from the sweet and talented blog of Karen,  then you are at the right place! For my card today, I used two of my favorite stamp sets: Feel the Sun which is where this gorgeous sentiment is from: "To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides." David Viscott and the sweet sun is from the stamp set: Let It Shine both from Verve stamps.

I absolutely love this sentiment - and the more you reflect on it - the more it sings to your soul - so so so true! That warm feeling you have in loving and in feel loved is just like basking in sunlight and having it turn on inside your body. Such a lovely quote - Julee always knows how to put fonts and sentiments together! I used the sketch from this week's Mojo Monday #318 - (please check it out - there is a contest this week!!!) and here is what I came up with putting all these elements together:

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Feel the Sun , Let It Shine from Verve stamps
Inks: Teal Zeal and Tuxedo Black from Memento Inks
Papers: Bazzil cardstock and Walnut Grove
Accessories: bling, Inkessentials, Pennant Trim dies from Verve stamps,  Sweet Scallop die from Verve, grommet, button, heart punches from Fiskars and Truly Madly Deeply Ribbon Collection.

Here is this week's sketch and I used it to make a special birthday card for one of my dear friend's one year old baby! I used one of my favorite stamp sets: "To The Moon" from Verve stamps that has THE cutest little animals with the sweetest sentiments.  I loved going all girly with the sentiment: "sugar and spice and everything nice" with the sweet little bear holding a hear at the bottom as one of the panels.

Have you ever made a card and just loved each part of the process? I think somehow making this card for my friend and thinking of her wee one - I just loved every part of making this card. I used the Be Mine papers from Echo Park and tried to keep it all girly and soft and pink - but added a little black for contrast and of course some liquid pearls and a little rosette :)

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Be Mine from Echo Park papers
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Ink Black and copics
Accessories: MS edger punch, liquid pearls, bling from Want 2 Scrap, ribbon from MME, rosette (Timholtz) button from PTI with the PTI twine, bling, chunky glitter from MS, Spellbinders, sponger and dimensionals.

I love how this came out - and can't wait to see what you come up! I love the three panels at the bottom because they can be either different pieces of paper, or sentiments or these cute little animals! :) Please check out all the happenings over at the VLV thread and join in on the fun!

There is also a completely FABulous sale - so please hop on over and check out all the details of the Vervey Sale goodness as well as all the ways that you could win some Verve over at the Verve Stamps Blog.

For my card today - I used the Mojo Monday sketch #193 from this week's Mojo Monday (this week there was the option to go circle or square) with one of my favorite stamp sets Hope Blooms. I love all the flowers in this set and the fonts are magically delicious! I used the large flower and colored and cut it out and popped it up in the center of the sketch and added a little twine to the button in the center. The sentiment "happy birthday" hangs from a tie to the ribbon and I finished it with just a wee bit of liquid pearls and a vellum butterfly

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Hope Blooms from Verve Stamps
Paper: CC Circa 1934 collection and black Bazzill cardstock
Ink: Memento Ladybug Red ink and Tuxedo Black
Accessories: liquid pearls, spellbinders, dimensionals, yellow button from BG, twine, ribbon, butterfly punch from Martha Stewart and bling.

I am in the midst of birthdays, weddings, baby showers and graduation parties - I can't even begin to tell you how crazy it is around here - and I am so glad that I could make this birthday card for a dear friend of mine - she loves flowers, is an amazing gardner and I wanted to create a simple neutralish card with a pop of color here and there. You Make the Difference

Hi Everyone,

I am so excited that my parents are visiting myself and the kids this week - its been just absolutely lovely and sweet and awesome - all rolled into one! I have already made a few things for my mom ad dad - but I wanted to make a special little something to show them how much I love them. Any good qualities that I might have are all there because of my parents and those values and lessons that they taught me - are all things I see myself saying and teaching my children. I am so forever grateful to my parents - for every single thing that they have done - and for everything that they do for my wee ones - and so I wanted to make a card for them that my kids could sign on the inside - with pictures of the kids and the sentiment: "You make a difference in my life" from the Bloom and Grow stamp set from Verve stamps.

I loved making this card - maybe it is because it was for my parents and that it had pictures of our children that made it so lovely to make this card :) I stamped the frame from the Sweet Treats stamp set and popped it up over the pictures of the kids. These pictures were cut out with the embossed oval die and then adhered to the DP and then I popped the frame over them with dimensionals.

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Sweet Treats stamp set, Bloom and Grow Stamp set
Papers: MME and PTI
Inks: London Fog, Danube Blue from Memento Inks
Accessories: Embossed Oval die from Verve Stamps, ribbon, buttons and brads from MME, liquid pearls, spellbinders, dimensionals, twine

I can't wait to give this to my parents and hope the know how amazing they are. Its amazing how each of us have an ability to make difference in so many people's lives - and I am grateful that who my parents and my grandparents are can be passed down in lessons, teachings and stories to our children and their children. I am excited for the kids to sign their names inside and leave a little message for their grandparents :)

Hope you don't mind my sharing these little thoughts :)
Thank you so much for coming over to visit today!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)

VLV FebSketch #3 - You're So Amazing!

Hi Everyone,

Every Friday over at SCS, there is a new Viva La Verve sketch to play along with and this week the VLV Sketch #3 for Feb 2011, is hosted by the lovely Teresa Klines with this beautiful sketch! I love all the fun elements in this card and couldn't wait to sit down and create a little somethin' somethin' :) But the only problem was that once I started creating a card, it kinda took a mind of its own and then when I looked down I realized that kinda interpreted the sketch kind of "loosely" :D .
I used the lovely Sweet Treats and Amazing Wishes stamp set from Verve Stamps and created a little background using the Jotted Heart Die from Verve. It was fun to create the little envelope and then have the sentiment fly out from it and then surround the sentiments with some glittered hearts:

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Create Paper and PTI stamps
Stamps:  Sweet Treats and Amazing Wishes stamp set from Verve Stamps
Ink: Rich Coco from Memento
Accessories: liquid pearls, ribbon from stash, Jotted Heart Die from Verve Stamps, heart punch from MS, EK success punch, dimensionals, bling, glitter and hat pin

I really loved making this card - it was sooo lovely to get some stamp therapy today and I can't wait to see all the lovely creations that have been created with this great sketch over at the gallery.

Check out this post to get the scoop on how to play all 4 sketches this month and how if you do that - you could win some yummy Verve stamps!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
YOU guys are so amazing!!!
Lots of happy wishes for a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,
Sankari :)

My heart is yours.....

HI Everyone,
Hope you are having a lovely start to your weekend! Let's just say, our weekend here can be summarized by one word: s-n-o-w ! It's everywhere  - just an ocean of white and can I just say that I can't wait for the greens of spring! Can I just say that as much as I love the white magic of snow - I have to say that I am SOOO ready for all of this white wonder to melt!!!! Bring on the greens of spring! Speaking of greens - aren't the greens/blues of this VLV sketch created by the lovely Amber for the VLV sketch for the first week of February so lovely? I love the sqaures and rectangles mixed in with the circle in the front - so cool! So I thought I would make a mini-ish Valentine's Day card with this sketch using the lovely new stamps from Verve Stamps :)
I used the super cool heart from the Love Notes stamp set from Verve with the sentiment from the Swirling Hearts stamp set. I love the different fonts in both stamp sets and I had fun be-jeweling this card with bling and liquid pearls :D

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Echo Park and Bazzil
Stamps: Love Notes stamp set , sentiment from the Swirling Hearts stamp set from Verve Stamps
Ink: Rose Red and Tuxedo Black stamps from Verve Stamps
Accessories: liquid pearls, MS heart punch, bling from Bazzil, dimensionals and ribbon from stash

It was so fun to create this mini- ish card (3.75 x 3.75) and it was really quick and simple - gotta love the quick cards! Can't wait to make more of these and change the sentiments around a little :). I love this sketch - and you can check out more of the details on how you can play along with this sketch and the rest of the VLV sketches for Feb. and how you can win some yummy Verve stamps!!!

Are you getting ready for SuperBowl Sunday? My DH is so excited - but I have to be honest that I more excited that I get to stamp during the SuperBowl :)

Hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)

Verve Stamps: Sometimes the Smallest Things....

Hi Everyone,

Have you ever had a kind of day where you woke up and were already behind? Yep, it was that kind of day that I woke up to yesterday - the whole day was a blur of running late to everything - I can't even tell you how nice ti was to go home, kick off my snow boots (sooo looking forward to spring!) and steal a few minutes in my craft corner :)

And then I saw this gorgeous card that the fabu Ms. Amber Hight created for the Verve Diva Dare and I instantly said: "aaawwwwwww - how cute is that??!" and I wanted to try to make a Hight creation too!!! But, as I sat down to CASE Amber's gorgeous card, I just couldn't get mine to be "Amber-pretty" - so after wrestling with different layouts (phew! am I tired!) I settled on something simple.

I LOVE how Amber created this card using the super cute combo of the the To The Moon stamp set along with the Smallest Things Plain Jane stamp set from Verve Stamps. I adored her little trio of animals and so I started off with a similar trio and created a little baby girl card with some sweet pinks and greens from the MME alphabet soup collection:

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Alphabet Soup MME and PTI cardstock
Stamps: To the Moon stamp set, Smallest Things Plain Jane from Verve Stamps
Ink: RoseRed ink and Tuxedo Black ink from Memento
Accessories: Heart punch from MS, ribbon from stash, liquid pearls, spellbinders nesties, corner chomper, twine, safety pin and dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment onto the Classy Label die from Verve stamps and then surrounded it with this super cute trio of fluffy adorableness :) I popped them up with some dimensionals and attached them to the nesties and then swirled a ribbon about and bowed it up above the trio (that sentence has so many grammatical errors!) I was feeling like it needed a little something and so added a little heart that I tired about the little Ellie's hand :)

I have to say that it was so much fun to make this card and I totally dedicate this card to Ms. Awesome Amber! Check out all the happenings going on over at the Verve Blog where this month the Diva Dare theme is Baby Love - and you have a chance to win some yummy Verve goodness!!!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!
Big hugs and hope you have a most excellent Thursday :)
Sankari :)

VLV Sketch #4 - Be Mine

HI Everyone,

Today is Friday and that means that there is a brand new Viva La Verve Sketch happenin! And I am so excited to be hosting the last sketch for January (make sure to check out all the Verve sketches for January here!) and when I drew up the sketch - I had one person in mind - dearest Marisa who is definitely NOT a fan of any panels that tilt! The last time I did a VLV sketch - it had a tilted panel and I think I could hear her groan when she saw it :D  so when I was drawing the sketch for this week's sketch challenge - I tried to make one without a tilted panel in honor of you dearest Marisa :)! Of course if you want to tilt a panel - please feel free to tilt away - all tilting welcome!
For my card today, I had to use Emery - I adore this little guy! I cut out the panels using my nesties and popped up Emery (whose belly I paper pieced) onto the center panel. I stamped a heart from the Love Notes stamp set,  paper pieced the cute kites from the To The Moon stamp set and used the sentiment: "Be Mine" from the Swirling Hearts stamp set

Card Ingredients:
Paper: MME and PTI cardstock
Stamps: the heart is from the Love Notes stamp set, the paper pieced kites are from To The Moon stamp set, the sentiment "Be Mine" is from the Swirling Hearts stamp set, Emery (Plain Jane) stamp image from Verve Stamps.
Ink: Rich Cocoa and Tuxedo Black from Memento Ink
Accessories: liquid pearls, EK success scallop punch, heart punch from MS, bling from stash, dimensionals, copics, ribbon from Emma's Papiere, nesties, baker's twine and red tacky tape.

I loved making this card - I think the best part of making it was having some time to myself last night - the kids were in bed, the house was quiet and all was good! I love those quiet moments :) I love this little Emery guy - and can't wait to make some more cards with him - he is just sooo very sweet!

Hope you will play along with the sketch challenge! One person who completes all 4 of the VLV sketch challenges this month will win the entire Verve Release - you can check out the VLV page for more details on how to win lots of yummy Verve!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)

Diva Dare: Baby Love

Hi Everyone!
I am excited to be hosting Day 3 of the Diva Dare Challenge over at the Verve Blog today. Every there will be a different theme to and this month the theme is to create a card, project, layout with the theme Baby Love! The baby part could be for a new little someone...or a special someone!

Can I tell you how much I have been loving the sweet little animals that Julee has created with the To The Moon stamp set? Each of the little baby animals are soooo adorable and I couldn't wait to give them some more love for my project today. One of our sweet friends is having a baby in a couple of months (a wee baby girl!) and so I couldn't wait to create a little somethin' somethin' for her and her little bundle of preciousness :) I used this little onesie template (created by stampercolleen on SCS) and decided to create a little onesie card and matching giftbag:

For the onesie, used yummo Pixilicious papers and cut out the onesie pattern and outlined it with a bit of liquid pearls and used the little teddy bear with the window frame technique (Jackie and Amy - I totally love how you did the little guy in the window and I couldn't wait to "window" him too :D I punched out a little heart for him to hold and popped up the sentiment "welcome" on the side.

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: To the Moon stamp set from Verve Stamps:
Papers: Pixilicious from CC and cardstock from PTI
Inks: Memento Rich Cocoa, Tuxedo Black and Grape from Memento
Accessories: MS heart punch, bling, eyelets, EK sucess punch, dimensionals and button from stash.

For the giftbag, used one of the 6x6 pages from the DP set and had that as the background with another paper pieced onesie on the front. I decorated this onesie with the Classy Oval frame from the Love Notes stamp set. I stamped the sentiment: "Sugar and Spice and everything nice" onto the frame and then attached a little bear with a heart on it and popped it up onto the gift bag. I finished the bag off with a bit of ribbon:

Gift Bag Ingredients:
Stamps: To the Moon and Love Notes stamp sets from Verve Stamps
Papers: Pixilicious by CC
Inks: Grape and Rich Cocoa (Memento)
Accessories: Giftbag, liquid pearls, MS heart punch, ribbon from stash, buttons and dimensionals

It was so much fun to create this for my friend and love this month's Baby Love theme!!! If you play along with this month's theme - you could win a LOT of  Verve goodies !! Please stop by the Verve blog today for more details on how to win - and how to play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)

Verve Stamps: You Rock!

HI Everyone,
Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Ours was rather quiet and trying to recover from being under the weather (can't wait for summer weather - we are not fans of this cold weather flu season - ugh!) But on a brighter note - I have some fun Verve-iness today :)  For those of you who missed the Verve release party last Friday night, there’s an after-party going on over on the Verve Blog today. Head on over to see some of our favorite Diva creations with the new release! This new release is seriously filled with a ton of amazing stamps and dies -
AND now through the end of January, you there is a sale when you purchase the January Stamp Collection! YAY! There are so many fun creations that I didn't have a chance to share last week - so I thought that I would show one of my favorite ones!! This card uses the Sweet Treats stamp set:

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Sweet Treats (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Echo Park: Be Mine
Ink: Tuxedo Black and Rose Red from Memento Ink
Accessories: Classy Label Die (Verve), May Arts ribbon, dimensionals, EK success punch, red line tape,Websters Trim, Large Bling from Bazzill, Baker's Twine and Liquid pearls.

I stamped the die in RoseRed  ink and then cut it out using the Classy Labels Die which is a new die that Julee is releasing this month! I love how it turned - I the middle out and stamped the sentiment: "You Rock" separately and then popped up the die on top of the sentiment. I stamped the hearts in this set and then stitched them into a hanging row and tied it with some twine into the ribbon. I love the Be Mine papers from EP and after adhering the elements of the card, I curled a little piece of paper and attached it around the sentiment :)

There are so many lovely stamps and sentiments that were released and you have a chance to win the ENTIRE January Collection just by playing all of the Viva La Verve Sketches this month :) Woo-HOO!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!!
YOU ROCK!
Big hugs!
Sankari :)

Viva La Verve- Week #2 (December 10,2010)

Hi Everyone!

Wow! It has been so busy around here that  I hardly have had a moment to breathe/blog!
But today I am super excited to be this week's Viva La Verve hostess on Splitcoaststampers while Amber takes a break this month. Each week this month one of the Verve Divas will be hosting the sketch challenge and I hope that you will play along with my sketch this week!

We are going to do the challenges this month a little different. Instead of an inspiration picture, we have a theme! This month's theme is Ornaments & Winter Decor. Find inspiration from ornaments, wreaths, trees or any of the fabulously pretty things that are decking the halls this time of year! I was inspired by all the sparkley bling bling that deck the halls this time of year - I love all the different colored ornaments and multi-colored lights that trim the trees - so I went with the a multi color approach using the lovely Crate papers and the gorgeous Verve  stamp sets: Glad TidingsWinter Mittens and the awesome Verve: A Cut Above die: Sweet Scallop die

The oval image in the stamp could be for the sentiment but I used that area for my snowflakes (sometimes its hard for me to follow my own sketch ) I love the beautiful snowflakes that Julee has designed from the Glad Tidings set and so for this sketch, I stamped them in an Aquamarine chalk ink and then covered them in stickles (Diamond) and then cut them out. The sentiment is from the Winter Mittens stamp set that comes with the cutest mittens evah! I first cut out cardstock using my  Verve: A Cut Above die: Sweet Scallop die and then stamped the large snowflake lightly in the background and then stamped the sentiment in the middle.

Card Ingredients:
PaperCrate Paper and Bazzill
StampsGlad Tidings, Winter Mittens and the awesome Verve: A Cut Above die: Sweet Scallop die from Verve Stamps
InkChalkbox Aquamarine and Memento Rich Cocao
AccessoriesBling from Kaiser, EK success stamp, twine, PTI ribbon, liquid pearls, eyelet, MFT small scallop die, Bling from Want2Scrap and dimensionals and Diamond stickles

There is a chance for some lucky someone to win the next entire Verve Release (holy smokes Batman!!) and to read all the details - please check out this thread here and play along!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope you are keeping merry during this glorious time of year!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)
