I can't believe that there have been 300 Mojo Monday sketches!! I was always attracted to Julee's gorgeous visually beautiful sketches - the definitely got my mojo flowing when I was stuck in a rut! I think I started playing almost 5 years ago (say whaaa/?!) when there were around 40 sketches! I loved playing along with Julee, loved seeing and playing with all the amazing Verve stamps and was beyond FLOORED when sweet Julee asked me to join the Verve Design team - seriously squealed and then went into stunned silence of awe and blissful happiness!!!

Thank you Julee for everything - so so so many congratulations to you on so so so much! On your amazing company, on your amazing gorgeous creations, on your beautiful family and the wonderful Verve family that you have nourished and inspired for so many wonderful years!! I absolutely adore you!!

For my card today, I decided to use one of my favorite stamp sets Let It Shine!!! Julee asked us along time ago what we would like to see as a stamp sets - so I asked her for sunshine stamps!! yay! I love sunshine (hence my blog title :) - anything sunny just makes me happy :) and I simply loved her sunny creation in her Let it Shine stamp set - so I had to use this set to celebrate the 300th Mojo Monday Sketch! Here is my take on the sketch:

I used two of the sunny stamps to create the sun and then added a button to the center with a wee bit of twine :) and then created a mat with some vellum, added some little cut outs from the DP and a banner from the Pennant Banner Trim   - here is a closer peek:
Card Ingredients:
Paper: Simple Stories: I heart Summer
Inks: Memento Teal Zeal and Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Pennant Trim die from Verve Stamps, dimensionals, circle punch, Spellbinders nesties, vellum, corner rounder, buttons, twine, bling and liquid pearls

I just loved making this card and I just love this sentiment which I dedicate to Julee and the Mojo Makers - you guys are pure sunshine - thank you for always getting the Mojo Flowing!!! Verve Divas Inspiration Hop - January 2013

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to our January Diva Inspirations Hop!  Today the Divas are dusting off some Verve favorites and putting on our monthly hop to inspire you with a fresh new spin on the stamps in our stash! So grab a drink and hop along as we share a little Verve with you! There's a great little prize involved, too! A random commenter on one of the hops will win a $30 gift certificate to VERVE, so be sure to leave a little love in the comment section as you hop about! You can find out all the prize details over on the Verve Blog today.

For my project today I used the darling stamp set: Sweet Valentine to create a little valentine's day card using some vellum and some EP Your's Truly papers. I love this happy font - the swirls and the hearts are just so sweet! I adhered the two background papers (the red/white and the gray papers) and then cut out a circle in the middle with my spellbinders. I then turned the circle around so that the gray side was down and then popped it up over the cut circle area and added the sentiment "happy valentine's day" on top of that. The stamps were cut and popped up again over the sentiment:
I also stamped the larger joined hearts on vellum paper and then outlined the heart shapes with a white gel pen and then attached them around the sentiment and one at the bottom. I added a line of scallops at the top and then penned a line of faux stitching with the gel pen. Here is another angle of the card:

All of Julee's creations are so lovely - and stay tuned there is some New Verve on the way to ring in the New Year!!! I really enjoy going back and stamping my older Verve sets and I can't wait to see what all sets and creations these lovely ladies have used in their projects today! Please hop with me and check them out!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Ciao for now,
Sankari :)

VLV Febsketch2: You Make My Heart Flutter

Hi Everyone,

I am so sorry to have been MIA - I have been having a series of health related problems that are making it a bit difficult to craft - the last two weeks have been full of daily difficulties - I am trying to take it easy - and make sure that the stress level is low - but that is pretty difficult with a full time job outside the home and a full time family life at home - sigh! I am always happy when I have a few moments to get my craft on - and this week, I am the hostess for the Viva La Verve (VLV) Sketch challenge on SCS and to the left is the sketch that I drew up (and Julee made super Verve-y purrrty!) for this week.

I used the vertical  strips in the sketch to create a line of hearts that then I added a line of buttons strung together with twine and tied in a bow at the top and added the sentiment "You make my heart flutter" from the super cute stamp set Twitterpated created by the super awesome Julee :)

Card Ingredients:
Paper: MME and card stock from PTI
Stamps: Twitterpated from Verve Stamps
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: heart punch from Martha Stewart, twine, buttons, glue dots, dimensionals, sponger, red tacky tape, corner chomped, prima red rose bud, paper clip

Each Friday, there will be a VLV sketch posted and playing along with the sketch and uploading it to the SCS gallery with the keyword VLVFeb2012 will upload your card into the Feb. VLV gallery. Completing all 4 sketches in the month of February will be eligible to win this month's prize!! YAY! Please check out all the details here!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Big hugs!

Wish Box: Words of Wisdom stamp set from Verve

Hi Everyone!

One of my dear friends moved away recently and life has felt so different after her move - all the little things as just popping by to visit, or morning coffee cafe chats and just hanging out is suddenly no more and it makes me miss her presence and friendship acutely! For a recent birthday, my friend and I decided to  put together a care package and I decided to decorate a cigar box from Cosmo Cricket that I have been hoarding saving :) for a special occasion and thought that I would make a special box of wishes for her.

I decorated the box with some delicious My Mind's Eye papers and used one of my most favorite Verve stamp set: Words of Wisdom - I seriously ADORE this stamp set - it is the most inspiring and encouraging stamp sets - and the font is just absolutely striking! I stamped the sentiment: Nothing is Impossible on the center and on the bottom - one of my most favorite sentiments: "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams"...

The hole in the middle of the box, I replaced with a clear acetate strip that I embossed and then put the sentiment on top of it - I layered some liquid pearls around the box and added a flower to the bow and some punched out hearts that were glazed and had a bling added to one side at two areas of the box. This picture shows the box kind of opened to show the translucent center of the box:

I decorated the inside top of the box as well as the bottom with the same papers and created some tags with sentiments from this set:

Here is what the top of the inside of the box looks like - I stamped the sentiment: "You Matter" across in a strip and attached it over the frosted acetate (because there is a strip on both sides of the acetate, you can't see the glue between the sentiments). I added a border edge and some hearts and a velvet ribbon across the edge:

I decorated this box with two special tags with some of my favorite sentiments. My friend and I wrote special birthday wishes on the back of these tags before we sent our care package to our friend for her birthday. I love both of these sentiments: "Triumph over fear" and "speak the truth, even if your voice shakes"... so inspirational - and so from the heart. I mixed up the sentiments with a variety of shapes that I layered over the chipboard tag and added the velvet ribbon the the tag :

Project Ingredients:
Stamps: Word of Wisdom stamp set from Verve stamps
Papers: My Mind's Eye (assorted)
Inks: Memento Black, Chalk ink (Dark brown)
Accessories: cigar box from Cosmo Cricket, chipboard tags, cork sheet, jumbo eyelets, dimensionals, roses from prima, circle and die cut shape punches from EK success, spellbinders, velvet ribbon, heart punch from Martha Stewart, bling from stash, glaze, liquid pearls, acetate, embossing folder from Tim Holtz, red tacky tape, gray grosgrain ribbon, crop-a-dile,

Each of the sentiments from the Words of Wisdom stamp set are simply spectacular.... so inspiring and so from the heart - Julee is simply an amazing designer! Please check out all the new Verve stamps here and all the VLV sketch challenges here with a chance to score some free Verve yumminess!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Be Mine

Hi Everyone,

I am sorry to be a bit MIA - I haven't been feeling well this week - and am just getting back on my feet. I was so happy to be able to stamp finally! yay for stampin therapy!!! I am so in love with these two little cuties from the awesome new set: Twitterpated from Verve stamps - aren't these two just the cutest thing ever?! I stamped both of them in Memento black and then colored them with copies and paper pieced their outfits from the Yours Truly EP collection.

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Yours Truly by Echo Park, card stock: PTI
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, LadyBug Red and copics
Accessories: grosgrain ribbon, maya arts twine, dimensionals, lace border punch and heart punch from Martha Stewart, liquid pearls, red bling and corner chomped.

I loved paper piecing their sweet little outfits - aww! and it was so much fun to have them side by side. They kind of remind me of my children and I thought it would be fun for them to send this to their grandmother :)

Hope you are having a wonderful day!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

After Party Verve Blog Hop!

Welcome to our January 2012 After Party Hop!  Last night we released 3 new stamp sets, 4 plain janes and 4 dies!  All of the new products we've been showcasing this week are available now in the Verve store! Be sure to leave a little comment love as you take a stroll through the Diva blogs. One lucky commenter from today's hop will win the ENTIRE Release! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize details and deadlines.

Hi Everyone,

Last night was such a fun party and I am always blown away b everyone's gorgeous creations using Julee's beautiful new stamps and coordinating dies! For the After Party - I just wanted to share two cards that I had a lot of fun making:

The first one uses the Happy Valentine's Plain Jane - which is a stamp just with this sentiment - perfect for all your Valentine tags, cards and treat boxes! I started out with a pink and red color combo - but then  went with a white and cream color combination. I had a clear transparency paper with a doily pattern on it from a package of Prima flowers that I thought would love pretty against some cream cardstock - so I created some layers of cream and white and then stamped the sentiment in London Fog and added the small butterfly from the new stamp set Twitterpated

My second card uses the gorgeous stamp set: Wings of Love that has coordinating dies (Wavy Hearts die set). I stamped the heart and then cut it out and used the dies to cut out a heart from the DP from Echo Park's Your's Truly. I love this stamp set because you can use the sentiments in different combinations :

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Please check out all the after party Vervey goodness on everyone's blogs with their beautiful creations!

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the 3rd day of sneak peeks from the newest Verve Release (which will be releasing tonight!) Today the Divas are peeking a couple of new dies and stamps and I am peeking from probably the cutest little stamp set called: Twitterpated (dontcha just love that name!) It has the cutest sentiments and the sweetest little boy and girl.

I chose to create a card with the cute little girl - because she looks just like my little girl - those cheeks and that black hair! so cute! I created a little house for her with different papers and scored the roof and sponged it and then created a little window for her to peek out of. I colored her in with copics and added a little glaze to her hair :) and some rose to her cheeks!

Card ingredients:
Paper: Cosmo Cricket: Clementine, PTI cardstock
Stamps: Twitterpated by Verve Stamps
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Ladybug Red
Accessories: Grass punch, heart and star punch from Martha Stewart, mini heart punch, liquid pearls, copics and dimensionals.

I loved making inking up this sweet little girl - I am so in love with her cuteness! And I can't wait to see what the rest of the design team has created with these sweet and awesome stamps and dies! Please check out all of their beautiful creations:

Celebrate!

HI Everyone,

I am excited to share a scrapbook page that I made for a friend's wedding. I am so happy for her and her wonderful fiance and was wanting to send something to her for her special day so I thought to create a scrapbook page using parts of her wedding invitation. The wedding invite has these beautiful gold embossed papers that are so beautiful and exquisite - I wanted to create a page using them so that the invitation becomes an embellishment for her scrapbook page.

One of my most favorite sentiments (and stamp sets) is "Celebrate the day that gave me you" (awww!) isn't that the sweetest?! It is from the Love's Flower stamp set from Verve stamps (so beautiful!) and I thought it was such a nice and perfect sentiment for her and her fiance as the celebrate the day that they become husband and wife - Here is a close up of the the sentiment and the rolled flower that I made from part of the invitation:

I added a little bling on the center of the rolled rose and used some Spellbinders dies for the leaves that I cut out using some gold metal cardstock and added a line of liquid pearls around the sentiment. I framed the scrapbook page in a shadow box. I punched out hearts from the invitation and added them around the frame along with ruby bling around the frame:

Project Ingredients:
Paper: Metallic Gold cardstock, red Bazzill cardstock, gold paper from the wedding invitation
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: EK Success border punches, ribbon from stash, Spellbinders Leaves dies, Spellbinders frame dies, Martha Stewart heart punches, Want2Scrap bling, EK success shape punch, glue dots, dimensionals, red tacky tape, gold liquid pearls, 8x8 Shadowbox Frame

I loved making this page for her - and I hope that she and her husband enjoy every single moment of their new adventure.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Happy Weekend!
 Big hugs Sankari

Holiday Diva Dare - Day 3 -Merry and Bright!

HI Everyone,

Today over at the Verve Blog, I am the hostess for this month's Diva Dare where the theme is: A Handmade Christmas! The theme is pretty broad and can be interpreted in so many different ways...from a lovingly made card, to heartfelt gifts and homemade decorations!  With the Holidays right around the corner, this will be the perfect time to get a jump start on your card and gift making!

The Dare - is to make something handmade for Christmas and post it (please check out the Verve Blog for more details!) AND you can totally score some new yummy Verve in the process!!!

I answered the dare by making a little banner to hang on our front door. I have always enjoyed making handicrafts that can be hung on our door and our kids get so excited for the next season with a new doorway banner or wreath. After Thanksgiving, I am excited to hang up this little snowy banner on our door using the Bright Spirits Stamp set. I love this sentiment: "May your Spirits be Bright" and the sweet little star shape that can be both a flower or snowflake. I created a little ornament that I saw while surfing awhile ago and then saw again made in our LSS (hi Cynthia!) and couldn't wait to add as a big rosette to the banner:

Here is the center piece of the banner - I created a double star and used the Winter Fun Die set that has this beautiful tree to create little icicle pennants for the top:

I had some glittery snowflakes from a previous project that I added to the center of the large rosette and then layered the sixpoint snowflake (large and small) from the Bright Spirits stamp set into the middle and added a little button to the center:

Here is a side view of the banner and the layers:

Project Ingredients:
Papers: Yellow Bicycle Winter Twig
Inks: Memento Danube Blue
AccessoriesWinter Fun Die Set from Verve Stamps, snowflake punch from MS, dimensionals, Spellbinders, red tacky tape, pearl embellishment from Want2Scrap, ribbon, jumbo eyelets from WeRMemory Keepers, Chipboard and liquid pearls

I loved this challenge and love making home decorations! I am so excited to hang this on the door after Thursday and surprise my little ones with a new door hanger and get ready a beautiful season of Merry and Bright Spirits!!!

Please check out the Verve Blog for details on how to play along and win some new Verve and also everyday for the next two weeks there will be a new treat from one of the DT with a project with this challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Big hugs
Sankari :)

Verve After Party!

Hi Everyone,

Every monday after the Verve Stamps Release, there is an after party on the Verve Stamps blog where each of the Design Team girls show one of their favorite creations that they made during the release. This is one of my favorite posts because I love seeing everyone's post release favorites all in one place! My favorite card is one using the Bright Spirits stamp sets and decided to go all blue on the card (blue monotone) and keep it all a bit simple. I used the Journey paper collection from Authentique and used different DP's from this collection that would harmonize all the blues together.

I stamped the ornament and then paper pieced it and colored it with copics before popping it up over the stamped ornament. The organment was then layered onto layers of Spellbinders and the sentiment was put under two edgers of blue DP and finished it off with a hat pin the side:

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Authentique
Stamps: Bright Spirits from Verve Stamps
Inks: Memento Bahama Blue and Danube Blue
Accessories: silver ribbon, liquid pearls, Spellbinders, rhinestones, hat pin and spinger (copics and dimensionals also added)

I can't wait to see what all the other girls have picked as their favorite creation! Please hop over with me to the Verve Blog and check them out! And don't forget that there is some yummy sale prices over at the Verve Stamps store:

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Verve Stamps: Holiday Spotlights Day 4

Welcome to our final Holiday Spotlight Hop!  Last night we released 2 new stamp sets, 5 plain janes and 6 dies to coordinate with new and old Verve holiday sets!  All of the new products we've been showcasing this week are available now in the Verve store! Be sure to leave a little comment love as you take one last stroll through the Diva and Guest Diva blogs. One lucky commenter from today's hop will win the ENTIRE Release! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize details and deadlines.

Hi everyone!!!

The release party last night for the November Release of Verve Stamps and Dies was amazing - so much fun and full of fun and exciting news too ;) (you can check out the party here) and today we are doing our final day of blog hops where the team is showing a creation from one of the new release - I peeked this letter wooden block set at the end of the party and thought I would also show it here today.

It uses the Bright Spirits stamp set, the Santa's Helper stamp set (with cute little Rudy), the Winter Tree Plain Jane stamp set, the Glad tidings stamp set from last year and the coordinating Snowflake Tidings dies, and the Sweet Scallop dies.

I took blocks about 2x4 blocks and sanded them down and painted them a metallic copper and then adorned it with the St. Nicks Fancy Pants paper collection. The letters were cut out of glittery red paper on the Cricut and then popped up onto the white papers. On each of the blocks I tried to use a different stamp or die combo and a different element - I truly LOVED making this and smile everytime I walk by it :)

My kids also love it - except every morning I see it rearranged in new ways - they are trying to see what new words they can spell from the word "peace" ha! Love their creativity :) here is a top view of the blocks, some have bling on it, some have ribbon, and one has a ruffled ribbon trim to it:

Please check out all of the amazing ladies on the hop today - and you could win the whole release by dropping a little love on their blogs! Sweet!

Thank you to everyone who so kindly left comments on my blog during this release week! You guys are the sweetest - and you beyond make my day with your kind words and encouragement!!! Big hugs!

Verve Stamps: Holiday Spotlights Day 1

Welcome to our Holiday Spotlight Hops!  Hop along with the Divas over the next few days as we share our first looks at a few of the new products releasing from Verve this Friday night!  One lucky commenter from each day's hop will win the sets and dies featured that day, so be sure and leave a little love in the Divasphere! Check out theVerve Blog today for all the prize details and deadlines.
Hi Everyone,
This week is a fun one because its full of sneak peeks from Verve Stamps for its release this week, which is filled with the sweetest and perfect new Verve dies, so many beautiful Plain Janes and brand new stamp sets! Today we are kicking it off with the DT previewing 4 Plain Janes: 2 cross dies and 2 sentiment Plain Jane. For today's project, I used the Time to Bloom Plain Jane to create a quick little gftset of a card and notebook. I love this sentiment: "It's Time to Bloom" - it is such a good reminder that you are always unfolding your full potential. So on that note, I made a little card and gift pack combination  to inspire all the different resolutions for the new year! I altered a little notebook with some Sassafrass lass paper, thickers and this beautiful sentiment:

For the card, I used the Mojo Monday sketch #214 changlllenge and used vellum for the square area. I finished coloring the flower with my copics and then added some bling here and there:

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Sassafrass Lass and notebook
