Patriotic Marshmallow Pops for the 4th of July!

HAPPY 4th of JULY!

I feel so thankful to have been born in the USA!

We will be celebrating the 4th with family, food, fireworks and a boatload of gratitude for all the blessings that God has poured out upon us.

I pray everyone has a safe and happy holiday as we celebrate our country's independence.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!
To make 10 pops I used:
Two bags Ghirardelli white melts
Twenty pieces red candy melts
Royal blue gel color
One bag marshmallows
Star sprinkles
Red lollipop sticks
Place two marshmallows on lollipop stick.
Melt one bag of white candy melts and add blue gel color. (I could not find blue candy melts anywhere so I just made my own.)

Dip marshmallow pop in melted candy.
Place pops on parchment paper, add star sprinkles and let set to harden.
Now we get to make the red and white stripes!
Place about twenty each of the red and white candy melts in a decorator bag and melt in microwave at 30 second intervals on 50% power stopping to knead the bags each time.
With scissors, snip off just the small tip of each bag and pipe alternating colors to form stripes.
Woohoo, it's beginning to look a lot like the 4th of July and I needed a little sparkle for my flags, so I sprinkled on just a tidge of white luster dust.
"Oh, say does that star spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? 🎜🎝🎜🎝🎝
Now let's go celebrate BIG!

That's all folks!

Chocolate Fireworks Cakes!

When life is crazy busy and you want a cute sweet to serve for your 4th of July get-together, I've got your back! These Suzy Q's are the perfect vehicle for our sparkly chocolate fireworks!

My hubby and I are heading out of town and will return just in time for our family's Independence Day cook-out. I will be whipping up a few of these as they are seriously the easiest and quickest thing I've ever made!

HAPPY FLAG DAY!
 SNAP! CRACKLE!
BOOM!!
I used red and blue candy melts, red and blue sprinkles, Wilton edible glitter stars, pre-made and pre-filled bag cream cheese frosting with star tip.
And don't forget these adorable and sweet Suzy Q's cakes.
I filled disposable decorator bags with candy melts and melted on defrost setting in microwave in 30 second intervals. Knead bag after each nuking session. Mine took about 1 1/2 minutes.
Snip off just the tip end of each bag and pipe your design onto parchment paper.
I'm feeling patriotic!
Pipe the second color/layer right on top of the other and don't worry about letting the first layer dry first. Immediately sprinkle on the silver stars and let dry. It takes just a few minutes to set.
Now you can decorate the cake tops any way you want with the frosting and top with sprinkles.

Just gently peel/lift your candy fireworks from the parchment paper and place on top of your decorated cakes.
These turned out so cute and were so much fun to make!

Hope you all have a blessed 4th of July!
Thanks for stopping by!

Kit Kat Flags for the 4th of July

With the 4th of July only a few days away, I wanted to share this crafty treat with you!

It's so simple and quick to put together but still cute as can be. Cute & patriotic!

I used white chocolate Kit Kat bars, red, white and blue M&M's, white candy melts (for "glue"), white snowflake sprinkles, and striped red paper straws.
Use a food safe paint brush to apply melted candy melts to back of candy bar.
Attach straw and let set.
Sorry I didn't get a photo of that!!
Using the same paint brush method, apply M&M's to Kit Kat bar. I made the first couple with only four blue M&M's, but liked the flags better with six!

Now apply the snowflake star sprinkles to the blue M&M's. That's all folks!
"You're a grand old flag
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave"!
Wishing you all a Sweet and Happy 4th of July, Karen 😊

Firecracker Brownie Bombs!

Firecrackers for the Fourth of July?

Yes! And let's make 'em edible!

How can we possibly make the already yummy Ghirardelli brownie mix even more delish? Stuff 'em with Milky Way bars. Um, yeah!

Before we tuck into our family cookouts, BBQ picnics, baseball games and fireworks, let us remember to give thanks for all the men that were willing to fight for the freedoms we enjoy in this wonderful land of America. This wonderful land that we call Home!
Cross section of this fabulous firecracker brownie!

Yes, those are chocolate chips AND Milky Ways!
Make your brownies according to directions on box.
I usually sub buttermilk for the water, but I was out and they were still good!

I also add vanilla. I'm using vanilla powder.
Decorations for my brownies include, sprinkles, licorice ropes and dipping chocolate.
Spray brownie pop pan liberally.

I bought two pans as my Ghirardelli mix will make 18 brownies.
Scoop small amount of batter into prepared pan.

Top with mini Milky Way bars.
Fill each well with additional brownie batter.

I baked my brownies at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.
Make sure to let your brownies cool completely before removing from pan.

I did not and as you can see they were still a bit too soft.
Dip, drench and cover in melted Ghirardelli chocolate.
I used a lollipop stick to make the indention for the candy "wick" and decorated with sprinkles.

Now let the festivities begin!
POP goes the Firecrackers!
May you all be Blessed with a wonderful Fourth of July!

Sweet thoughts, Karen 😊

Firecracker Marshmallows for the Fourth of July

The 4th of July is upon us!

This summer is passing by much too fast. It could have something to do with my being out of town for a couple of weeks. Hubby and I had a wonderful two week, two nation vacation celebrating our silver anniversary!

I must say we were glad to get back to see all our sweet kiddos. Aaand..I'm happy to be here sharing my simple marshmallow craft to help you all celebrate our favorite summer holiday.
To see another of my firecracker treats, click here!

Happy 4th y'all!
I used marshmallows, pull and peel Twizzlers, candy star sprinkles and lollipop sticks.

These are also cute without the stars if you'd rather skip this step.
I attached my stars to the Twizzlers with a dab of corn syrup and let them set overnight to make sure they held well. I think this would have been easier if I had used royal icing but I didn't have any and didn't want to make any.  :o)
When you push the stick into bottom of marshmallow to make it a pop, make sure you leave enough room on the top side to insert your candy wick.

Here comes the fun part.
Drawing on marshmallows! It's fun and easy.

Just let the marshmallows set out a little bit to make the surface easier to draw on. Now grab your edible ink markers and go!

You can check out the cutest art on marshmallows I've ever seen over @ Meaghan's, The Decorated Cookie
Use a lollipop stick dipped in water to make a hole in top of your marshmallows.
You can now gently press in the candy wick.
Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday!

So sweet of you to stop by, Karen!

Fireworks Pops for the Fourth of July and a Patriotic Peppermint Flag!

 3-2-1..Happy 4th of July!

And as quickly as you can do that countdown, you can make these super easy peppermint crafts!

With a baking time of six minutes and then pressing in the sprinkles, you can make these pops in less than 10!

The flag pops take just a couple extra minutes..and look at how cute they are.

I love the 4th. Fireworks, Family and The Star Spangled Banner.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!
 These colors just POP!
To make the fireworks pops, you only need these items pictured and parchment paper for your baking sheet.
Place peppermints on baking sheet as shown below.
 Bake..
 Then...
I love how these really do look like fireworks..and you can eat 'em! How sweet is that!
I used the same items for my flag pops with the addition of ready made blue fondant.
Place candies as shown below. Bake @ 325 for 5-6 minutes. Insert lollipop stick. Let cool.
I just rolled out and cut a small piece of fondant. I attached two stars with a dab of water.
I did the same for the fondant.

..oh say does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave,
O're the land of the free, and the home of the brave!
Wishing You All a Fun and Festive 4th
