I could really get used to this summer gig of stamping almost every day! I'm in heaven! This card uses Lauren Meader's My Time To Create Sketch Challenge 33. I've used two retired hostess stamp sets - Vases In Vogue and Best Yet, along with the current Parisian Breeze Designer Paper. The Baja Breeze Corduroy Brads are currently available through the Occasions Mini Catalog.
This is my first attempt at this kind of ribbon treatment. It took some trial and error, and I still wonder if there is an easier way to do it but I really like the end result! I used a small piece of hemp twine to tie the two ends of ribbon together, then punched a hole through the ribbon and cardstock with my Handheld 1/16" Circle Punch near the tie for the Corduroy Brad to go through.

The other night, I wanted to stamp something quick and easy without spending a huge amount of time designing. There were a couple of brilliantly designed cards I've been itching to CASE so I tackled those ....This first card CASES this card by Jenna Millsap, A "Sap" For Stamps. I love Jenna's use of the felt flurries inside the metal edge tags against the Whisper White background! The only things I changed from Jenna's card was to use round metal edge tags verses the square ones, and I backed the tags with Scallop Circles.

This next card is a case of this card by Karen Giron, the sweetest thing. I was thrilled to use up some of this print from last year's Dashing DP (now retired) ... I have a ton of it! Just like Karen, I trimmed around the Whisper White Curly Punch piece to make it smaller than the Real Red Curly Punch piece. I think Karen used small red rhinestones on her tree ... I used X-mas Red Stickles. The tree is an upside down party hat from Party Hearty.

Today's Featured Stamper #90 on SCS is my good cyberspace friend, Kay Kaltoff, speedystamper! You can see Kay's fabulous artwork in her SCS gallery, and on her blog, Stamping to Share. CONGRATS, Kay! HERE is Kay's card I chose to CASE for the challenge. I kept the same "large flower theme" and the same general layout. I used the stamp set, Doodle This to create the Poins
ettia flower by stamping in Chocolate Chip onto the Old Olive DP (1X) and Ruby Red DP(2X) -- ALL DP is from Holiday Treasures. I then cut each flower out, staggered, and layered. A Build-A-Brad adorns the center of the Poinsettia flower with another Holiday Treasures Ruby Red DP pattern as the inside (1/2" Circle Punch). I rolled the petals of the flower around a pencil to make them curl for depth and interest. The ribbon is Riding Hood Red Tafetta, and the sentiment is from the Level One Hostess Set, Best Yet. It is punched out with the Large Oval Punch and backed with another staggered Ruby Red CS Large Oval Punch and raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals. I used Ruby Red ink to sponge around the border of the oval sentiment.
I don't know why I've been making so many Christmas cards lately, because I am so much more of a Fall/Autumn person. Seems like I've skipped that season altogether! I'm off to create my swap cards for Tuesday's weSTAMP swap. Will share a homecoming photo or two when I get a chance.

Things I changed include: a) different colors/papers ... the new SU In Colors of Baja Breeze and Pink Pirouette paired with Chocolate Chip, b) used the new Flower Fusion Too as my main image flowers and Styled Silver Hardware Brads in the flower centers, c) used Designer Label Punch for my sentiment, and used a different sentiment, and d) used the Ticket Corner Punch on the corners, and added Silver Brads. The sentiment is from the new Level One Hostess Set called Best Yet. The sentiment is punched with the Designer Label Punch, and is backed by punching Baja Breeze CS TWICE and staggered. The striped Baja Breeze DP is from the new Manchester DP, and the Pink Pirouette DP is from Bella Rose DP.
