BABY THANK YOU

I mentioned in an earlier post that the weSTAMP ladies threw a surprise baby shower for weSTAMPer, Melissa Sunde, and I forgot to show you the baby thank you cards I made for her. These were so quick and easy, using the Eyelet Border Punch with the colors of Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, and Pink Pirouette. The sentiment is from 2011 Sale-a-Bration, So Happy For You, and the ribbon is retired Pretty In Pink 3/8" Taffeta.

Thanks for stopping by today! Order Stampin' Up! products 24/7 HERE.

BABY SHOWER CARDS

I was asked by my cousin Jami to make some baby shower cards for her, and this is the card I designed. The main image was CASEd from THIS CARD by Chat (nitestamper on SCS).

I included this close-up photo of the main image from So Many Scallops to show you the dimension. The image was stamped twice in Certainly Celery, and once in So Saffron. The So Saffron moon and the "Sweet One" Certainly Celery portion were both cut out and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
RECIPE
Stamps: So Many Scallops (retired)
Paper: Delicate Dots (retired), Whisper White, Bashful Blue, and Certainly Celery CS
Ink: Certainly Celery and So Saffron
Embellishments: So Saffron 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (retired)
Tools: Scallop Circle Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder (non-SU)

FAUX NURSERY NECESSITIES SAILBOAT

SURPRISE!!! I made time to design a card last night! I needed a baby boy card for a baby shower next weekend ... do you think I have a single baby boy card in my stash? I have several baby girl cards, but those baby boy cards sure get used up quickly!

I originally intended to CASE THIS CARD by Mary Fish but was out of the striped Slumber Party designer paper. I love the faux sailboat that resembles the sailboat image from the stamp set Nursery Necessities, and have used this little trick once in the past (see HERE). Although I didn't completely CASE Mary's card, my design ended up heavily inspired by it.

This is the first time I've tried one of Mary's tips - using a thin sliver of coordinating cardstock to "thread" buttons! LOVE the look, and will definitely be using it over and over again. I used the 1 3/4" Circle Punch to partially punch Bashful Blue cardstock for the "bottom" of the sailboat. The "congratulations" sentiment is from the stamp set called Congrats, and the designer paper is called Delicate Dots -- both from Sale-a-Bration '09.
RECIPE
Stamps: Congrats (SAB '09)
Paper: Delicate Dots DP (SAB '09), So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, and Whisper White CS
Ink: Sahara Sand Classic
Embellishments: Bashful Blue Brads, So Saffron and Certainly Celery Buttons (+1 retired Ballet Blue button)
Tools: Scallop Edge Punch, Paper Piercer, 1 3/4" Circle Punch
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals

FAUX NURSERY NECESSITIES

Today's Featured Stamper #96 on SCS is Annascreations. You can view Anna's beautiful gallery HERE, and HERE is Anna's card that I chose to case. I've had this card of Anna's in my favorites for a long time and have always liked how it so simply mocks the sailboat image from the Nursery Necessities stamp set.

I pretty much kept everything the same except the designer paper and colors, a different sentiment, and used brads with 1/4" circles behind. The designer paper is Manchester, and the colors are Always Artichoke, Baja Breeze, Kraft, and Very Vanilla. The Kraft background and the right sail were run through the Cuttlebug machine (non-SU) with the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. The bottom of the sailboat is 1/2 of the 1 3/8" Circle Punch. I think the other details on the card are self-explanatory .. if not, feel free to contact me.
RECIPE
Stamps: sentiment from By Ones & By Twos
Paper: Manchester DP, Always Artichoke, Baja Breeze, Kraft and Very Vanilla CS
Ink: Always Artichoke
Embellishments: Always Artichoke Brads, Baja Breeze 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
Tools: Word Window Punch, 1/4" and 1 3/4" Circle Punches, Paper Piercer + Mat Pack, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder + Cuttlebug machine (non-SU)
Supplies: Stampin' Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by! I'll have my iPICKS for Week Four posted later today!

FEBRUARY weSTAMP SWAP

Earlier this week we held our monthly weSTAMP demonstrator support group meeting. This group consists of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from the creative teams/downline of Lorri Heiling (Confessions of A Stamping Addict) and myself.

NOW is the ideal time to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator because during Sale-A-Bration (now until March 17) you can purchase the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Starter Kit (a $330 value) for just $159. That's 20% off the regular price! PLUS, you'll receive ANY FREE STAMP SET of your choice from the new Spring-Summer Collection - up to a $47.95 value! One of the perks of becoming a SU Demo on my creative team is the opportunity to participate in our monthly weSTAMP swap, whether local or out of town. Please contact me via e-mail for more details .... nrileycm@cox.net.

This first card was our Make & Take provided by our hostess, Lorri Heiling. The original design of this card came from our ever-so-talented friend, Chat Wszelaki, Me, My Stamps, And I ... aka nitestamper on SCS. Click HERE for all the details on Chat's original design.

In case you're new to stamping and wondering what a swap is ... each month there is a theme ... this month's "theme" was to make a card using ANY new stamp set from the new Spring-Summer '08 Collection, the Sale-A-Bration, or Occasions Mini. Next month's theme is to create a card or 3-D item with Mother's Day as the theme. There is a deadline for the participation rsvp, then a final count is done. If there are ten people participating in the swap, you would design or case one card and make ten of them to bring (or mail) to the meeting. Then, at the meeting we exchange (and ooohhh and aaahhhh over) our cards. Each participant goes home with ten cards of ten different designs. A great way to have numerous cards to display at classes!

Here are our swap cards for this month ...

* SUGAR AND SPICE * AND EVERYTHING NICE *

I LOVE Stampin' Up!'s Simply Scrappin' Kits! Not only are they great for scrapbooking, they're wonderful for cardmaking too! This card was made using Textured Cardstock, Designer Paper, and Self-Adhesive Die Cuts from the new Crew Kids Girl Simply Scrappin' Kit! I love the fresh color combination of Regal Rose, Wild Wasabi, Basic Gray, and Whisper White! The main image was created by layering Self-Adhesive Die Cuts from the kit. The only stamping on this card was the "congrats" sentiment from Fundamental Phrases. This layout was inspired by THIS RAK (the Merry & Bright card at the bottom of the post) I received from my friend, Karen Laub, nikesmom on SCS.
