Happy Mail With Kara

Hello! It's Kara and I have been sending out a bit of happy mail to some of my friends. I needed to create a few more 'just because' cards to replenish my stash. I pulled out Happy Mail and as well as Friends For All Seasons: Fall for some seasonal accents.

Summer has been beautiful! While it is still warm here, I can definitely feel a shift happening as we move towards Autumn.

I know many people plan out their card designs before they begin. I am not one of them. I prefer to fly by the seat of my pants. I start by stamping, die cutting and coloring some images that I may want to use. As I start moving the pieces around I'll come up with an idea for placement.

After positioning all of the elements in the foreground scene I was really happy with how it looked. The bunny on the stump, the bunny in the pile of leaves and happy mail, but the upper portion looked empty.

I decided to add additional images in the background. In order to make them not appear to be floating in the air I cut out the circle window and popped it up on the card front. This created depth so when I tucked in the bear and butterfly they felt like they were in the background and not floating in space. I also left them uncolored to emphasize the fact that they are in the background and not the main focus of the design.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Don't forget to send out some Happy Mail!

Sending Love with Joni

Hello everyone! Joni here, back with an inspiration card for Valentine's Day, using some new and old stamp sets.

To begin my card, I first distressed my card panel with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Shabby Shutters and Tattered Rose. Next, I splattered with a little diluted color of the same. I also splattered the panel with plain water. I used several stamp sets - for the fox I used the Friends For All Season: Winter; the bunny, bird, and tree stump are are all from Happy Mail; the balloon is from Party Animal; and the sentiment "sending Love" is from Bold Banner Greetings. Next, I die-cut the fuschia cardstock using the heart from the Clear Cut Stackers: Heart Dies. I colored all the images using Copic Markers.

For added interest on the balloon and the heart I added some Stickles - for the heart I used X Mas Red and Diamond Stickles and for the balloon I just added Diamond Stickles. Next, I also added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to give some shine and adhered all the pieces with foam tape.

Thank you for stopping by! Until next time :)!

Stretching Your Stamps with Joni

Hello everyone! Joni here, sharing these cute bunnies from the Bunny Mask-erade stamp set. Although, these bunnies were created specifically for Halloween, I wanted to create a different idea of using these bunnies.

Originally, these little guys are shirtless because they are meant to be dressed up as other animals. But I wanted to take this card in a totally different direction. So I added some shirts. To begin, I first stamped the bunnies, then drew some shirts on them with a Copic Multiliner and colored them with Copics. Because a few straight lines are all that are needed, anyone can do this!

To create the background, I distressed the bottom of the panel (ground) with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Gathered Twigs and added some dots using Copic markers. My island need some palm trees, so I used the ones from the Drummer Boystamp set along with the companion die. Finally, I added the sentiment from Happy Mail.

I adhered the bunnies with foam tape in front of the palm trees and embellished with a few Marshmallow sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to finish off the card.

I hope you enjoyed and are having a wonderful week!

VIDEO: Building a Scene with Kelly Latevola

I know Easter has come and gone, but I still have bunnies and Spring on my mind. I can't wait for the warmer temps and flowers blooming that is right around the corner!

I thought it would be fun to build a little scene around these cute bunnies. This simple sentiment makes this card usable for any holiday, or maybe just a quick pick me up to pop in the mail for a friend who needs a smile.

You can see how this card came together by watching the video below.

I love how mixing stamp sets can give you such an original card. Happy Mail and Wishing You have all these pieces you can mix and match to create different scenes.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
