Khador: Doom Reavers

I love these miniatures. As far as units go, these guys were a deciding factor for me when it came to picking a faction. The poses are great and full of action. And the blades are just waiting for something other then a standard metallic paint job.

I wanted to achieve a magical look to the blades. Not exactly a NNM (non metallic metal) per se , but pretty much the same technique.  The first thing I did was dry brushed the skulls starting with hawk turquoise, working my way up to white.

For the blades, I used black for the shadow, white for the light with hawk turquoise in between and blended both directions.

I like how the blades came out. The only thing I would have done differently (which I will attempt on Fenris), is this:

There is a slight border around the skulls that I left dry brushed. I think It would have made a more dramatic effect if I would have reversed the blade effect on these flat parts.

Khador: Winter Guard

For the Mother land!
I like these guys. I've read some complaints about them, but I don't see it. I especially like the dudes with the freezing puffy cheeks.

These models show of the color scheme nice. They look real good next to the Butcher, now I need to get eSorscha done!

Khador: pButcher

The Butcher says, "Ho Ho Ho, Merry Khristmas".
All GW paints and washes used on this guy, as I only have a few P3 paints.

Khador: Widowmakers

I finally managed to complete my widowmakers. I love these guys (and gal). The models are full of character, as with most of the line.

The army as a whole is going to have red armor with green for the fabric, though I gave the leader a red dress and hat so she would stand out.

Happy New Year

Happy New year gamers!

there is a lot in store for 2011. Here's a break down of what I currently have planned / in the works:
    1. I've been working diligently on my Khador Army

    2. Soon I'll have most of Khador painted and I'll be switching gears to WFB and starting to paint up my Skaven army. Can't wait for the new mini's this month

    3. I'm reading Prospero Burns right now which is really getting me in the mood for some Space Wolves. I also picked up a few classic Space wolves blister packs today at the FLGS. The sons of Russ should be getting some love soon!

    4. At some point, I need to put the finishing touches on Tzeentch army.

    5. Need to assemble and paint my Circle of Orboros army.

    6. I just aquired a starter for a Skorne army.

    7. And finally, I've been thinking of starting something new....Maybe Blood Angeles or Grey Knights....Well that should be plenty to keep me busy. For a while at least......

    Khador: the Butcher

With this mini complete, I think I have nailed down my Khador color scheme.

    Alternate Khador Color Scheme.

This is what I'm thinking for my Khador army, with the warjacks being predominantly white to match Sorcha's armor. Is it too busy? Comments / Criticism's are welcome. The tiny female face was challenging. I need more practice.

Next up: Juggernaut, just as soon as I finish it.

    I have a new Army!

I played my first game of Warmachine today. It was incredibly fun. And to my joy I "acquired" a nice sized Khador army. Will the fun ever stop? I have a lot to learn and a bunch to paint.
