Snow Buddies...

Today I am sharing my Design Team card I made for  Digi Haven

We have another fortnight challenge starting today

Our Theme:  SNOW BUDDIES

Our sponsor is Dilly Beans

I have to say that I absolutely LOVE my card
I wasn't sure how it was going to come together, but in the end it all worked out...LOVE IT!

I started with a light pink A2 card base
Layered the top portion with Kraft cardstock - embossed with my Cuttlebug & snowflake folder
To get the snowflakes white - rub Versa Craft white ink over the top
When you do this, the ink sticks to the raised up embossed parts only - How FUN is that!
Next I layered two pieces of dotted embossed white cardstock with torn and inked edges

I colored the snowman with Copic makers in the following colors:
RV000, RV13, YG41, YG63, YR02, YR07, BV31, BV23
Next step, cut the snowman out and tuck him behind the front snow drift

Sentiment from My Favorite Things - Pure Innocence - Snow Day
Attach the sentiment with two brads

I created some banners with scrap pieces of cardstock from a 6 x 6 pack of paper
My Minds Eye - Merry Little Christmas
This paper pack is becoming one of my FAVORITES!

I finished the card by adding a wooden button tied with jute

I hope you enjoyed my card today - because I sure enjoyed making it

I invite you to come play along with us for this challenge
Check out the rest of the Design Team creations - there is some AWESOME Inspiration

Thanks for taking some time to stop by my blog - it is Appreciated

Until next time...Catch the Frenzy! - Karen

Baby it's COLD Outside...

Today I am back with my Design Team card for Digi Haven

For this fortnight challenge our THEME is:  Baby it's COLD Outside

Our Sponsor is Bugaboo
and I am using the Winter Bird - Scarf image for my card today...

I started with an A2 white cardstock base that opens at the top
I layered it with DP from 6" x 6" pad from My Minds Eye - Merry Little Christmas
I ran DP paper through my Cuttlebug using a die from My Favorite Things for the scalloped edges
The image was colored using the following Copic markers:
B00, B02, BG01, RV000, RV13, Y06, Y17, YG41, Blender
I finished the card by adding a punched snowflake, sponged with baby pink ink
The bird has black adhesive rhinestones for eyes and a pom pom on the hat
I also added a cluster of 3 adhesive rhinestones to the upper left and one in center of the snowflake

I absolutely LOVE the way this card turned out...
I LOVE this image and  I LOVE this paper too!

I hope you like my share today and I invite you to join us for the challenge

Wishing You a...

JOYOUS SEASON

Welcome to my blog and another sharing day
Today is a card I made for the Design Team at  Try Stampin' on Tuesday, a weekly sketch challenge

This week Team B was inspired by Sketch #147 (see sketch below)

Here's my card...

Sketch #147
TWIST:  add a snowflake

I started with a blue A2 card base layered with a dotted pattern paper cut 1/4" smaller on all sides

I ran a piece of 5" x 2" kraft cardstock through my Cuttlebug using the snowflake folder
Once I ran this piece through the Cuttlebug, I then laid it on a flat surface
Next I rubbed white VersaCraft ink over the top - ink will only stick to the raised up surface

Sentiment from My Favorite Things using Kraft ink on ivory cardstock
This piece of paper I opted to make a little smaller to fit the sentiment I used  - cut at 3-1/4" x 1-1/2"

To finish the card: a snowflake punch in kraft and blue, layered on top of ivory circle punch
I then added a cream brad in the center of the snowflake and three brads in the lower left

I sure hope you will have a chance to play along with us this week
Make sure to check out the rest of the Design Team cards and be inspired

Holiday Tag-Stravaganza

This week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday we continue with our Holiday Tag-Stravaganza
Last week Design Team A kicked off the week with tags, tutorials and a whole lot of inspiration

This week is Design Team B's turn
We have more Holiday Tags to inspire and more tutorial's to share

Here's my tag...

How to make this tag...

Basic supplies needed:
Paper Cutter, scissors, Adhesive, Glue Dots, Mounting Tape
and other supplies described in the tutorial below

Begin with the follow paper cut to size:
White cardstock cut:
5-1/2" x 3"
2" x 2"
Kraft cardstock cut:
4-3/4" x 2-3/4"
2" x 2"
2-1/2" x 1-1/2"
Two coordinating pattern papers:
Diamond pattern was cut at 3" x 2"
Dot pattern was cut at 3" x 3/4"

Using a Snowflake embossing folder, I ran the largest Kraft cardstock through my Cuttlebug

I then laid this embossed piece on a flat surface
Take the White VersaCraft ink and rub across the surface of the cardstock
The ink will cover the raised, embossed area only

Next I stamped a circle sentiment on to the 2" x 2" Kraft cardstock using Chocolate ink
Using a 1-1/2" circle punch - punch the sentiment out

Use the 2" x 2" white cardstock and a 1-1/2"snowflake punch - Sponge the edges with Chocolate ink

To finish the tag:
Using the last piece of Kraft cardstock 2-1/2" x 1-1/2"
punch another 1-1/2" circle for top of tag and a 1/2" circle for center of snowflake
Tie a 2" piece of red twine through tiny white button
Layer the 1/2" kraft circle and tiny white button with red twine on top of snowflake
Use three pieces of 12" twine - I used brown and red for top of tag
Loop twine through 1-1/2" kraft circle, which is folded in half and punch in center

See finished tag above for layers - working back to front

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and have been inspired by my tag
Please remember to check out the rest of the Tags on the blog
As well as visit Team B's blogs for more inspiration and tutorials

I sure hope you will play along with us this week
I look forward to seeing your tags
