I'm sew HAPPY...a little late

Friday we started a new challenge at Digi Haven
However, I got caught up in LIFE challenges instead and I am now posting 2 days late, so sorry...
But, "Better late and still share my card, rather than give up on my idea and DT commitments"

Our theme for this fortnight challenge is a Color Challenge
Use at least 3 shades of Green

We are being sponsored by Beccy's Place

Here's my card using the Quilted Heart which you can find HERE

I chose to do a little paper piecing for my card
I started by printing the image onto a light green cardstock, cutting out the Quilted Heart
I did a second printing on darker green gingham pattern paper, this time only cutting out the squares
I colored the little squares with a medium shade of yellow / green Copic marker - YG06
I machine stitched the heart onto the white A2 card - which was rough in a few spots
Hence, the well placed white bow and my pop of RED heart
I finished with tiny white buttons

So thank you for understanding my lateness on the post, but there is still plenty of time to PLAY
Check out the How to Play tab HERE and all the Design Team INSPIRATION HERE

I invite you to join us and "Get Your GREEN On" for our Fabulous Color Challenge

I used a white A2 cardstock base layered with pink
The pattern paper is from My Minds Eye - Springtime 6 x 6 pad
Watering Can image and sentiment from Designed 2 Delight (now From the Heart Stamps)
I colored the watering can and butterfly using the following Copic markers:

To Adore, Cherish, Love...

Another fortnight challenge begins today over at Digi Haven
Our THEME...
LOVE, VALENTINE, CHERISH, ADORE

I am using this beautiful image Mama Hug
From our SPONSOR: A Day for Daisies
Base is Kraft 5-1/2" x 5-1/2"
Pink dotted paper from Simple Stories - Snap Color Vibe
Stripped paper from My Minds Eye - Dolled Up
Chocolate ink used on old CTMH sentiment from B1215 Life is
Flowers from Maya Road, Adhesive pearls, Twine
Copic markers uses:
BG01, BG15, E11, E31, E33, E35, E50, E53, RV13, RV21, YR20
I have to say I was sweating it trying to color all the hair on this image
More hair than I am comfortable with, as I am just not that confident with hair
I took what I learned at my advanced Copic class and tried to apply it here
I was just praying, while coloring that I got all the highlights in the right place and did not goof up
I really didn't want to start over - I was stressing BIG time
I will keep on practicing hair, but realized it's good to be out of the comfort zone once in awhile

Thanks for stopping by today...
Make sure to visit the blog for more Inspiration from the Design Team
I hope you will consider playing along with us - I would love to see your creation

Snow Buddies...

Today I am sharing my Design Team card I made for  Digi Haven

We have another fortnight challenge starting today

Our Theme:  SNOW BUDDIES

Our sponsor is Dilly Beans

I have to say that I absolutely LOVE my card
I wasn't sure how it was going to come together, but in the end it all worked out...LOVE IT!

I started with a light pink A2 card base
Layered the top portion with Kraft cardstock - embossed with my Cuttlebug & snowflake folder
To get the snowflakes white - rub Versa Craft white ink over the top
When you do this, the ink sticks to the raised up embossed parts only - How FUN is that!
Next I layered two pieces of dotted embossed white cardstock with torn and inked edges

I colored the snowman with Copic makers in the following colors:
RV000, RV13, YG41, YG63, YR02, YR07, BV31, BV23
Next step, cut the snowman out and tuck him behind the front snow drift

Sentiment from My Favorite Things - Pure Innocence - Snow Day
Attach the sentiment with two brads

I created some banners with scrap pieces of cardstock from a 6 x 6 pack of paper
My Minds Eye - Merry Little Christmas
This paper pack is becoming one of my FAVORITES!

I finished the card by adding a wooden button tied with jute

I hope you enjoyed my card today - because I sure enjoyed making it

I invite you to come play along with us for this challenge
Check out the rest of the Design Team creations - there is some AWESOME Inspiration

Thanks for taking some time to stop by my blog - it is Appreciated

It's the first Tuesday of the month and that means a new Technique over at Technique Time Tuesday

Are you ready to Learn Something New?

Well, this months technique might not be new for all of you,
but it is always FUN to revisit a technique from time to time
For me, it's been years since I have created a card using the TRIPLE STAMPING technique
I really love the way my card turned out...

I decided to make what I call a LONG card... which measures 3-1/2" x 8-1/2" Yellow card base
My layers for the triple stamping are:
3" x 5-1/2", 2" x 4-1/2", 1" x 3-1/2"
The black cardstock is cut 1/8" larger on all sides of all 3 pieces
I layered a piece of  black with white dots designer paper cut at  3-1/2" x 3"

My image is by Josephine Kimberling for Impress
I colored the image with Copic markers in the following colors:
BV13, BV31, Y11, Y15, Y17, YG41, YG63

To finish my card:  a yellow ribbon/bow, metal tag with sentiment and lots of adhesive pearls

Green pattern cut 5" x 5"
Red w/ white snowflake pattern cut 5-1/2" x 1-1/4"
Diamond pattern cut 4-1/4" x 2"

I used the following Copic markers to color the image:
E33, E35, E50, R11, R27, R59, Y06, Y17

To finish the card I did a little bit of paper piecing on the reindeer head/body, nose and bow
A Red ribbon/bow with sentiment on a metal tag, attached with a safety pin
And for the final touch...green sequins with liquid pearls in the corner and on the tag
