Some Birthday Invitations :)

I made some birthday invitations for my friend's son's birthday party using the sample invite made for the blog hop here. It became popular that I am asked to make a girl version of it using butterfly for a little girl's birthday party.
So here is what I came up with.

Girl birthday invites

Girl birthday invites

Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampers Select White from PTI, Tempting Turquoise from SU
Stamps: Party Elements Critters from Clean ans Simple stamps. Father Knows Best from PTI
Inks: Pixie Pink from SU and Stazon black ink
Accessories: Stripes embossing folder from SU, brayer, cuttlebug, Beautiful Butterflies dies from PTI and rhinestones from Kaisercraft.

She liked it so much especially the butterflies and the rhinestones on it. This card fits into a normal envelope. I adhered a butterfly on the envelope to coordinate the invites.
I only wish I can get colour envelopes here in Australia. If you know where to get colour envelopes in Australia, please email me at scrapawayg3 at gmail dot com.

Birthday Invitation

Its the 25th and today is Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. I think for the past two years, I would have missed couple of hops? I didn't want to miss this one because the inspirational picture is "awesome"

Aqua and yellow colour combination and those stripes & polka dots are just so pretty. Loved it straightaway. I decided to do Birthday Invitations instead of cards this time. So here is my take on the picture

Birthday Invitation

Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampers Select White and Aqua Mist cardstock from PTI
Stamp sets: Cupcake Collection from PTI. Party Elements- Critter from Clean and Simple Stamps
Inks: Summer Sunrise and Aqua Mist from PTI and Stazon Black Ink
Accessories: Stripes embossing folder, Cuttlebug, Brayer, Frost White Stickles.

I inked the striped embossing folder with PTI's Summer Sunrise ink and embossed a white cardstock panel.  Then stamped the invitation on another white card panel. Adhered this on the embossed card. Diecut and stamped cupcake and adhered using foam squares. Added some frost white stickles to the cupcake. Finally matted the entire card on a Aqua Mist cardstock panel.

This is just a sample. Now I need to make 12 more of it for a friend's toddler birthday party :)
Thanks so much for visiting and happy hopping!

Inspired by Pinterest

Afternoon! I am happy to be back blogging today. Until last night I was unable to even sit up for more than 2 hours. The cough is persistant, vomiting, eyes burning, nose block and body aches. I cannot recall being this ill before :( I have given bloods, swabs, sputum and chest x-ray and waiting for the results. On antibiotics and steriods and hoping I will get better fully after this weekend.

I am planning to do a "Inspired by Pinterest" section every week. I will select a picture from my Inspirational Patterns board and use it as an inspirational to make a project. It can be anything from card, to set of card to frame or even invitation sets...What do you think? It will be fun and if you like to join and make a project using the picture then, I will post a linky. It depends on how many responses I get today, Ok!

For today's inspirational picture, I chose this one.

And my project is a frame.

IMGP2749

My Wplus9 order arrived couple of weeks ago and love their latest release dies that coordinate with their stamp set called Folk Arts Florals. When I saw this picture on Pinterest, these dies from Wplu9 came to my mind immediately and so I pinned the picture.

In a brief period of wellness yesterday, I diecut the birdhouses and then slowly worked towards making this frame. I love the colours - all neutral. Hope you like it.So if you find this picture inspirational and make a project, then leave a comment with a link to your project. Also let me know if you like to play with me ever Thursday :)

Supplies:
Cardstock: GinaK Pure Luxury White cardstock, Close to Cocoa, Sand Sahara from SU
Stamp sets: Woodgrain Silhouettes and Folk art Florals from Wplus9
Accessories: White frame from local store.

Butterfly frame

What a gorgeous Sunday! Love that the weather has cooled down. We mowed the lawn this morning, spoke of parents, gave Charlie a bath, cleaned the house a bit, washed clothes and cooked lunch. Great day so far. Just sat down and so I thought I will share a butterfly frame I made some time ago when Moxie Fab had the Map to the Heart challenge. Just did not have the time to post and then realised the challenge was over. Anyway, here is the frame :)

map butterfly frame

I love maps and this looks awesome in real. I want to print more maps and make a few more butterflies, birdies, rolled flowers frames. I need to look at my dies to see what other shapes can be made :) Hoping to make a few projects this afternoon. Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great Sunday :)

The Map to Your Heart

Moxie Fab Challenge has a challenge called The Map to Your Heart - make projects using maps :) I love the idea and the inspirations are just magnificant. But when coming to making a project, I was stumped. Well, as the deadline is approaching, I was more determined to make something. I am a person who works well if I have deadline
So here is what I came up with.

Map frame

I printed out a map and ran alpha dies to get map alpha diecuts. I cut alphabet "I" and "U" using black cardstock. You can see how I am still using the rainbow striped leftovers by punching the heart shape :)
So the "I" "♥" and "U"  standout against the other map alphabets.

Supplies
Cardstock: White and Black cardstock.
Pattern Paper: Printed map from the computer
Accessories: White frame, Heart punch from SU, MFT Alpha dies, Cuttlebug and rainbow strip from previous project.

Thanks for visiting :)

Love Pinterest.

Here is another inspiration from Pinterest that caught my eye. It is Amy Butler's fabric from Lotus collection.

I love the red flower on the white. It will make a gorgeous background. So pretty. I wanted to use doilie stamp instead. So here is what I came up with

Valentine's frame 2012

I love the new Wplu9 Valentine's stamp sets and dies. They are just gorgeous. This stamp from Love You More set makes a statement against the beautiful Mehindi Medallion background. Like how my frame turned out.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Stamper's select white and Pure Poppy from Papertrey Ink
Stamp sets: Mehindi Medallion and Love you More from Wplus9
Inks: Pure Poppy from Papertrey Ink and Stazon Black Ink.
Accessories : Frame.

Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

Love Framed!

Hey everybody,
Hope you all had a great festive time with family and friends. Lots of fun, laughter and food?
I don't celebrate Christmas but sure do enjoyed the festivity during this time. Today being the Boxing Day, there is a lot of sales going around the country except in my town. All shops are closed until tomorrow. Weird isn't it? But true. The town is deserted and nothing to do. Sad! Since it is a holiday, I expect people will get out wanting to shop and so the shops will be opened. But every shop in the town is shut. Not even Woolies and Coles!!!! I am disappointed :( I will be in the city next year this time. So something to look forward next Christmas and Boxing day.

Anyway, I wanted to share a frame I made for Valentine's day.

Valentine's day  frame

Very easy to make. All you need is heart punch which is from Stampin' Up!, red cardstock, a valentine sentiment and an ornate white frame. Simple and easy but makes a statement doesn't it? Love it :)
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

See you soon with more projects later.

Frame time :)

It is time to share a frame I made. I recently bought a few $5 sets from Papertrey Ink and been waiting to use them. It is a hot day and being house bound, I decided to make a few frames. Here is one of them.
I CASed Nichole's Boy Basics-Frog Hop frog card.

Frog frame

I changed the sentiment and shaded the frog and leaf using copics instead of stamping on them.
Love the frogy. He is so cute.
Tomorrow I have a valentine's theme frame.
See you then :)

PTI Blog Hop- November 2011

Yes, it is PTI Blog Hop day once again. I look forward to the blog hop because its heaps of fun not only making and sharing but seeing what others create as well.
Here is the inspirational photo.

No surprise there, Christmas theme!!! I love the bows, gingham, snowflakes.. basically everything about it. But I chose to select the colors of red, wood, white and green with snowflakes, gingham and woodgrain as inspiration for my project below.

And here is a closeup of the sparkly snowflake focal point :)

Although I don't celebrate Christmas, I do gift friends. So this is a gift to a special friend :)  I love it. Hope she does too :) Looking for a box to wrap it  and it will be complete :)

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday.

Happy Hopping!

Fun Frame Decor!

Yesterday I was cutting all my old pattern papers into the panels of 5.25 X 4 inches size and among the pile of papers, I found some diecut sheets from Kraft Knuts. They are very old diecut sheets and the diecuts looked so cute. So I stopped cutting panels (dropping off one task to do another! Umm!) and played with the diecuts. I made a few cards as a gift set and also this frame.

I love the big tree and the rustic look of the whole frame. I think it will make a nice bedside table piece in any child's room. I crazy about making these frames lol! I have a pile of frames under my table which needs to be done.  I saw beautiful pink ornate frames in the TYPO shop in Perth for $5 and I am cross with myself for not buying them. Hope they have a website that I can go through and buy from....

Woke up again at 4.30 AM this morning and its 9.30 AM at the moment and I am sleepy. I need to have a power nap to get through the rest of the day. Thankfully I am not working today. Got to nap now.
See ya soon...

One more....

frame to share with you. This is another boy's frame but for a tween or teen.

All the products used in this project are from Papertrey Ink except the frame, versamark and embossing powder. I love doing up frames. I still have couple of Green frames and I bought 2 gorgeous glossy red frames today :) These will probably be dressed up for Christmas. So this not the last frame I will be sharing.

Today was the second hot day. Temperature went above 35 degree celsius again with a bit of wind too.  Felt like a furnace outside. Hope it cools a bit tomorrow. We all had  a good play and soak this evening on the lawn with water hose and sprinklers. Charlie loved all the sprinklers and kept running from one to another lol! All of us are now ready for dinner. Chapati and sabji... Yum!  I am hungry!

Thanks for stopping by!

Another frame....

Hi everybody,
Here is another frame I made this morning. I have been wanting to CASE this card made by Karen. But I didn't want to make a similar card but instead I wanted to do something different. So here is my take on Karen's card.

I used the same colors but also added more stamped images from Clean and Simple stamp set. Also I used the Wii controller image instead of Xbox image. I love it and looks cool. My son wanted it for him room. Well,  it is approved by a boy. Yay!
Thanks Karen for the inspiration. Hope I did justice to your cool boy's card.

Thanks for stopping by! see ya soon :)

PDCC #107

This week's PDCC challenge is a challenge I like. Its the splash of color challenge. The splash of color is  ORANGE! Orange is one of my fav colour too. Here is the photo for you.

Instead of a card, I made a altered frame for little boy's room. I saw this frame in a local shop and they come in different colors. Of course, I  had to buy them. I love the glossy finish of the frames too.
Here is my take on the challenge.

All die cuts are from Papertrey Ink and cardstocks from SU except the white which is from Gina K.
I love it and looks striking in real. I have made a few more frames and will share them all one by one in the coming days :)

If you like to play then, here is the link to the challenge - PDCC #107

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Inspired by...

Maile's new wine bottle tag die to be released by PTI tomorrow, I made my own version of wine bottle tags.I really like the wine tags because you could do up the bottle by adding a gorgeous tag on it. I made mine using circle punch, spellbinder dies, corner chomper and Celebrating You stamp set from Craft Meows.
Here are a few pictures of the wine tags.

You can make three winde bottle tags out of one cardstock :) I have two here and third one was a practice tag which I had to chuck into the bin.

I have a party to go to this evening and I have a bottle of wine and now its all dressed with a gorgeous tag :)
Thanks for the inspiration Mailie :)

See you soon!

Craft items for school fete.

I promised in previous post that I will share pictures of craft projects I made for the school fete.
Here are a few.... These ones below are Post-it note holders made using Acrylic photo frames.

Here is how they look all dressed and ready for mounting the Post-it notes.

Made a few coaster sets using PTI's coasters and pattern papers

Also made a few hairclips using felt and dies and also ribbons. A friend also made a few. She used SU dies and I have used PTI dies. Here are a few pictures of them.

I am in the process of brain storming display ideas. I need help. So if you have any suggestions or ideas, then please let me know.

I  have more projects to share. But didn't want to overload with pictures in this post. So there is more to come. I desperately needs ideas for displaying these clips. Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you like them. If you live in my town, you can buy them at St'Marys School fete on Nov 5th 2011.

More soon...
