You are simply amazing!

Good morning dear friends!

Woke up earlier than the rest of the family as ususal!  While they are asleep, I decided to share a water colour card, I made using Joni's sketch #2 from Wplus9.

Working with sketches is something I love. It takes away 90% of the planning work for me. All I have to do is select the stamp sets, dies and technique to work. That is what I did and here is my card using the sketch.

You are simply amazing

I die cut a Ranger watercolour paper in to two pieces using the curved stitched die from Pretty Pink Posh's Stitched Border die set. I then white heat embossed the flower image from Flora and Fauna 2 stamp set from Wplus9 on to the curved edges of both the pieces as well as on the top left and bottom right of the pieces. I also white heat embossed a few butterflies from the stamp set on a seperate watercolour paper. This stamp set is perfect for watercolouring. After seeing the butterflies Joni had used on her card, I dug up this set to use on my card.

You are amazing closeup

To watercolour the heat embossed images, I used Zig Real Brush Pens. These pens are easy to use for watercolouring. Just a dab of colour and using aqua brush, I pull the colour to a faded wash to the rest of the image. On the flowers, I used a light pink first to do a colour wash, then added darker pink for high lights. The butterflies were cut out by hand as I did not have the companion die set.

On the card base, I spattered some Black Soot distress ink, then adhered the curved pieces using foam adhesives. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom curved piece before I adhered it to the card base. The sentiment is from Quite Like you stamp set also from Wplus9. The butterflies were clustered and adhered using foam adhesives. Finally embellished with Pretty Pink Posh's Sparkly Clear Sequins.

Love how this card turned out. I wanted to try using pastel colours, Except the pink highlights, rest of the colours remained pastel. lol! It is hard for me to use pastel colours as I am a strong bright coloured girl. So I have gone out of my comfort zone and pretty pleased with the result. I have listed all the products below for you.

Watercoloured Bloom Girl

Hello everyone,

Remember the beautiful huge poppy cards I had watercoloured embossed in black and white? They are from Prima Marketing. But I had bought them at Ellen Hutson Store. I love that Floral set, especially its huge flower. Wanting more, I browsed for Prima stamp sets at Ellen Hutson store and the Bloom Girl stamps caught my eye. These are great to colour in. I bought a few of them. Yes, I got carried away, lol!
Over the weekend, I decided to watercolour one of the images.

Bloom Girl frame

I simply black heat embossed the image on watercolour paper and watercoloured using the Zig real brush pens. It took me about 25 minutes to colour this beauty. It turned out beautiful! I have temporarily adhered this in a frame and took photos to share. I may add some Prima flowers and/or sequins to embellish it. Still undecided. But just couldn't wait to share with you. Impatient me! lol!  I have listed all the supplies below my post. Here is a close up!

Watercoloured florals

Hello Monday!

I find my weekends are so much shorter. By the time Friday evening sinks in, it is Saturday afternoon. Then by the blink of an eye, it is Sunday evening. Then starts the chaos of the week. Anyway, weekdays also means, I get some time of my own. That means crafting get done. lol!

Today I sharing couple of cards using watercolour technique. I am playing long The Daily Maker 30 Day Colouring #2 - Day #2 where Kathy did the big butterfly in black and white embossing and watercoloured them. I wanted to try them out. I used Prima Marketing's Florals stamp set to try out this technique. I heat embossed the large flower from the set in white and black. Then watercoloured them both with Zig Real Brush Pens.

Love them both. The black one pops more because of the contrast of the darker colours while the white on is subtle because of the lighter colours. I like them both.  Here they are made into cards.

Thanks a bunch

And the white embossed flower.

Happy Birthday card 1

And both of them together.

Pretty Pink Posh Watercolour Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to Pretty Pink Posh Watercolor Blog Hop! Yay!

Watercolouring is currently a massive trend with the cardmakers. So this hop is going to great fun and also a great resource for watercoloured cards.

I have three projects for the blog hop. Here is my first card.

Happy Birthday card

I have used Addie's garden stamp set from Winnie & Walter to stamp and white heat embossed on watercolour card stock. Then I have used the Zig Real Brush watercolour pens to colour the images and the background. Once dry, I die cut the stitched rectangle panel from Pretty Pink Posh Stitched duo 2 die set. I also die cut three more of the rectangles using scrap cardstock. All the rectangle die cuts were stacked and glued with the watercoloured rectangle die cut on the top.

I adhered the watercoloured rectangle frame on the card front using foam adhesives. Then inlaid the stacked stitched rectangle panel back in its place. I then stamped the sentiment from The Party stamp set also from Winnie & Walter. Then the gorgeous Sparkly Clear sequins accented and pulled the card together. Here is a closeup!

Here is second card for the hop.

Most amazing friend

On this card, I have used Bohemian Garden stamp set from Essential By Ellen which I have stamped and  white heat embossed on watercolour card. The flwers and leaves are watercoloured using Zig Gansai Tambi Watercolour.  I then spattered some black Mr. Huey on the panel. The frame is from Taylored Expression called Frame in a Frame die set which is adhered using foam adhesive for some dimension. The sentiment is from Amazing Women stamp set from Essential By Ellen. Finally accented with Pretty Pink Posh's Onyx sequins. Here is a closeup!

And finally the last card for the hop.

Happy birthday to you

I stamped and watercoloured to create my own pattern paper. The stamp sets I used are from Simon Says Stamp's Friendly Flowers stamp set and Wplus9's Fresh Cut Florals. I inked them with distress inks, misted with water and stamped on the watercolour paper. That gave a lovely watercolour look but I wanted the edges to wash out and not be perfect. So I sprayed the entire stamped panel with water to get the colours to bleed and soften the edges of the images. I used Mama Elephant dies to die cut the scallop panel. The panel looks so pretty but very bold. I then die cut a vellum panel using the same Mama Elephant die set to layer over the panel. Then sentiment is stamped on the Stitched Banner Duo die die cut using white cardstock which is layered on the vellum. The sentiment is from Strictly Sentiment 5 stamp set from Wplus9. Finally accented with Orchid, Lime Sorbet and Amethyst sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Here is a closeup!

Happy Birthday to you closeup

Mask-erade Day#3

Second post for today. My first post for Winnie & Walter is HERE.

I played with masking fluid yesterday using Debby's technique at Mask-erade Online Card Class.

It was so much fun. Got addicted to it just practicing making backgrounds. But I was so impressed with Debby's card on her blog that I definitely wanted to CASE her card. Here is my take on Debby's card using masking fluid and watercolouring.

Day #3 card1

The Zig Real Brush pens are great for watercoloring. I get so much control over where I want my colours to pool and where I want them washed out. Just love them. I can also blend colours with ease.

Freehand drawing with masking fluid definitely need practicing. My fluid was watery and I kind of got some big blobs but with practice, I was able to get some thin lines.

Day #3 card closeup

I again have to practice various patterns but imagine the possibilities of make you own background. Love the idea. I also like the idea of flicking the masking fluid and sponging inks. The white specs on the coloured background will look beautiful. Anyway, I am enjoying the Mask-erade class as you can see. Hope you are too.
