Day 28 - Another watercolored tree

Day 28 of 200....whew!  I prepped this early today, then ran errands and just got it finished!

Keeping this post short and simple as it is 9pm and I'm finally able to sit down.  I wanted to practice my watercolor washes and got carries away.  I made several little washes today and then I had to figure out what to do with them because I don't want to waste paper.  So I made a little tree.

I can't seem to get enough of them.

Have a good night. ~ Judy

Day 27 - Another card of inchies!

Day 27 of 200...made a little card of inchies.  The red one is very popular on my shop, so I figured I should do another.  I find that I really gravitate to teals, limes and oranges.

Since this card is for yesterday's post that I didn't get a chance to write, I'm busy today working on day 28.  Maybe today I will explore a different color.

Keeping it short , as there will be another post today for day 28!

Day 18 & 19 - Watercolored cards

Day 18 & 19 of 200 painting in 200 days...whew!  Today I showing two of the water colored cards I made.  Some days you need quick projects.

This first one has a combo of water color and thread play for the grass.  I really like adding a mix to the card.  It give it a 3D feel.

Day 18 not so successful...I painted several things after watching a few YouTube videos....why do they make them look so easy?  Kinda like on Pinterest.  I threw away most of what I did today.

this floral card is the only survivor.

Go enjoy your Sunday ~ Judy

Day 16 - Sunflower

Day 16 of 200...Water coloring again. This time a sunflower.  I have to say the sunflower is harder than a poppy.

I also learn a thing or two about myself...perfectionism can kill creativity.  This sunflower I struggled with.  It is not perfect and someone who water colors all the time would see all my mistakes or irregularities.  I'm not sure I want to tackle a sunflower anytime soon, but I still want to explore this medium in between my other fiber art.

I do have a friend who adores sunflowers, this may show up on her door step.  How long has it been since you sent a card through the mail??

Tonight is an art walk in Reno, I may need to get out for some inspiration. ~ Judy

day 14 - Poppies!

Day 14 of 200 paintings in 200 days...

Today I decided to do something a little different, water color.  And I chose my favorite flower - poppy.  For the past 3 years I had poppies in my big barrel in the back yard, not this year.  So what a great idea of painting a few.

I took a water color class a year ago and have not got back to doing it.  It was so much fun that I did five of them (one is being dent to a friend).

Other than the purple one, I stuck to traditional colors.  Although there is purple poppies out there, along with blue too.  I like the non-traditional colors.

So I hope you had a wonderful poppy day!  These are available to purchase on my Etsy shop (side link).

Day 11,12,13 - Inchies

Day 13 of 200...I did some wet felting yesterday to take advantage of the warm weather.  The felt dries so much faster when I can put it outside on the patio.

So I added wool, silk, lace and whatever fibers I had in the scrap bucket.  I don't throw away anything anymore because those loose fibers and thread look great in small pieces like this.

These pendants are day 11 and 12 since somewhere along the way I missed a day.

They too are inchies.  Many years ago I was interested in doing inchies but never found the right time.  I think the pendants are right for me.

If you want to see more photos of these items they are now listed on  my Etsy shop (see sidebar for the link.)

Tomorrow I will be showing a different medium and see how it goes.

Happy Monday! ~ Judy

Miss my cards?

Well this week-end I thought I would make card in celebration of National Scrapbooking Day (Saturday May 4th).

Then it dawned on me, why not merge my two hobbies into one.

And this is what I got.

Made a few different colors....

And red.

It was really fun to play with these super mini pieces of fabric.

I wanted to keep them simple, however I don't think my photos do them justice.

If you want to see more in the next few weeks just hop on over to my Etsy shop, link on the right hand side.

Happy Monday!

A little sweet Christmas card

I was going through my box of Christmas cards that I have made and I found this little guy.

I just love this one.  This card has been in my box for several years and just haven't ever sent it out.
Maybe it is meant for me and the hubby.
I do have alot of teal in the Christmas decorations!

I hope you enjoy seeing the cards I make too.  I just haven't been in the mode to do as many this year, so I continue to dig through my class samples.  And hoping that they are love at their new homes this year.

Happy Stamping!

Have a slice of pie...

Today was my monthly stamping class.
I just love being able to teach stamping classes with my Close to my Heart (CTMH) products.
Right now I'm in love with the new CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge.

This project was the special project of the month.
I can see endless possibilities for this slice of pie...birthdays, weddings, mother's day, or just
a sweetie pie day.  I know he would love a slice of chocolate cream pie, HA! what am I kidding, Keith (hubby) would love any kind of pie!  Great way to disguise a gift card, movie tickets, sweets and more.

If you think you and your friends would like me to come over and make this awesome little project let me know.  I would love to do this project again in any theme.

Happy Stamping!

Playing with new stuff!

I'm like a kid in the candy store, which items should I buy?
I received my shipment of Close to my Heart catalogs.  Isn't it pretty?
Would you like a copy?  Just send me an email and I will send it to you for FREE.

Well I knew right away that I needed this stamp set.

Why you ask?  Well here is a peek at what I decided to do with it last night.
And so many ideas are going thru my heads for next month's card classes.

Here is a close up.

I basically scribbled with a copic marker, spritzed it with
Copic blender solution and when it was dry
stamped this beautiful rose.

I hope that you join me at my card class or book a class for your friends.

Happy Stamping

CSAYL - vellum

Happy Friday!
Time for another card closer to Christmas.  Each week I get one card or
one project closer to the holiday season.  It is so nice to have these done ahead of time.

This week at CSAYL challenge blog, we ere challenged to use
VELLUM.  I have a love/hate relationship with vellum.
All week I tried stamping and coloring on it, die cutting it and few others ideas...all failed.

So I ended up doing heat embossing my sentiment and sewing it on my card.  I had to add it to my non-traditional color scheme. A short and simple card that any of you can do yourself.

So why don't you join our challenge?
This week's winner will get a stack of 6x6 paper!

Hop on over to CSAYL and see the details of the challenge.

Happy Stamping!

June's CTMH card class

Yesterday I had so much fun with my stamping group.  I am so lucky to have a nice group of ladies come to my house each month.  We catch up, eat great snack and have a blast making cards and crafty things.

This month we made some fun summery cards for this month.

This cute little whale came from CTMH stamp set Under the Sea (C1500).  We used Copic markers to color him in.  Nice simple card to get the girls started with.

Next we moved on over to this card.  Great way to use up scraps of paper.  We used the CTMH paper pack Footloose (X7151B) and CTMH retired Thank you stamp set (D1316).

And I always have a super simple bonus card...just punch circles and away we go!

But remember to look at yesterday's post for the last card with the birdie.  Overall the class was a success and everyone loved their cards.  Next month we are going to do something vintage!

Remember tomorrow is my Christmas card Friday and you will see how I used this same paper pack and made a holiday card!

See you tomorrow!
