Weekend Events
This past weekend was packed full of fun stuff! Saturday morning Scott spent working in the yard while I got Bridger & myself ready for the day. Bridger & I then went next door to a shower that the YW in the ward threw for us. (The shower was originally planned for the beginning of August. But, since Bridger arrived early, we pushed it back until he was big enough to come along.) We had a great time and my plan to zonk Bridger out with a bath before we went worked perfectly. :) Thanks to the generosity of everyone, Bridger got tons of clothes, toys, bibs, and all sorts of other stuff...all of which will definitely come in handy.
After the shower was over (it ended when Bridger decided he was very hungry...) I came home and fed Bridger while Scott looked through all of our shower gifts to 'Oooo' and 'Ahhh' over them. He then packed up our car full of everything you could possibly imagine and we set out for Ogden to introduce Bridger to another set of his great grandparents.
We met up with my parents, Patrick & Megon (who had gone up earlier in the day) and we all pitched in for a potluck BBQ. Everything turned out great and we enjoyed relaxing together. When everyone was done eating, we decided to take a dip in the pool. My mom graciously offered to snuggle with Bridger while the rest of us got some play time in.
Our swim was 'cut short' when we realized we had 1 hour to make it back to Woods Cross for Scott's indoor soccer game. We got changed, loaded the car and cruised back down to Davis County as quickly as possible. Unfortunately we ran into some major construction traffic in Farmington which resulted in a very unhappy & hungry baby and a frustrated Scott. :) We finally made it in time for Scott to play the second half of the game--which they ended up losing. Bummer.
Sunday Bridger turned 4 weeks old (crazy!) and we decided to take him to church for the first time. It went well but I think Scott & I were both paranoid with every squeak he made. I'm sure we are going to have to get over that. :)
Sunday evening we went back up to Kaysville for 4th Sunday family dinner at Mom & Dad's house. We enjoyed some yummy food and watched License to Wed (hilarious movie) before taking a stroll around the neighborhood. It was a relaxing night with the family and we definitely enjoyed being out of the house for a change.
