Two Hunters, Two Wives, One Toddler, an Infant ,a Dog and a Montecristo...

The Idaho trip finally came and we had so much fun spending time with the Tyler & Chelsea Davis clan. The boys left on Friday evening and stayed up all night driving, going to their hunting spot and just hanging out (freezing to death) until shooting time. They had an awesome first morning and limited out by 9:30! It seems that the storm that came in really moved those birds!

This little guy is adorable. Look at his balancing act!

Chelsea came to our house on Sunday evening with the boys and we had a true sleepover which included staying up 'til all hours of the night talking despite the fact that she had to get up early and go to work. (Sorry about that, Chels.) I watched the boys for a couple of hours until she finished up and then we started our own rather eventful drive up. Henry entertained us most of the way by singing "Book of Mormon Stories" and the ABC song. Jack is probably the best baby to ever travel with as he just sat back there without making a peep. We made it there safely but only after some crazy obstacles we had to face which included a car driving toward us facing the wrong direction down the freeway-one of those terrifying experiences you don't forget. I believe my exact words were, "I think I just had a minor heart attack." After a brief introduction and visit to Chelsea's aunt and uncle's home, we made our way over to Chelsea's grandma's house to meet up with the boys and get some much needed shut eye.

Side note: On Monday, the boys shot 11 birds total. :)

The next morning (Tuesday) the boys were up just after 4 to start another day of hunting. Chels, Vicky, Kammer, Henry, Jack and me all went over to a wonderful little place I now refer to as 'heaven' where I had my first ever Montecristo! It was really delicious although I have noticed that eating an entire half makes it rather difficult to button your pants. This won't stop me the next time we make the trip, however.

Look how cute our little Aspen is! Happy first birthday, Pup!Scott and #11 (on day 3)

Later that afternoon I took Henry out for his first experience 'dunk hunting' and so I could take some pictures. While out there, we had the chance to see Scott shoot a bird and Aspen go out to retrieve it which was particularly exciting. Henry also does a killer feeding call (pun intended) which he loved doing every chance the boys would let him. He would say, "Daddy (or Uncle Scott), hand me my sound!" Aspen seemed to be pretty exhausted by the whole hunting thing but that was pretty expected with it being her first time. When I got there she just sat at my feet with her paw up as if she had been working hard enough and needed a rest! The boys ended the day with 12 birds.
I thought this was a pretty cool shot of Ty and Henry

Loved this background and couldn't resist...

Scott and I made the long trip home the following day (Wednesday). Scott only made it about an hour and a half before he asked me to drive. We were reading a book together and Scott kept falling asleep mid-sentence and so we finally just put the book away. :) We made it home around 5 and after showering and eating a quick dinner I started on homework while sweet Scott unloaded the car. We had such a fun time and only wish that it lasted a little longer!

Well at least Scott looks good... :)
