Motivation

An encouragement

A certificate for all distinction holders
(and $15 voucher to offset exam fees ha ha ha)

One student collected her cert for Piano Grade 8 distinction.
The Principal was commenting that it is a feat, the Mommy of the student commented - "On 3rd try".
Telling us it wasn't easy but to keep on working hard at it.

by the roadside after tuition

Maricar was on leave, so I asked my sis to help bring Colin to swim class while I bring Kiki to her violin tuition class. Her teen teacher, is a very sweet girl. Very well mannered, very demure and very certain of her skills to be imparted. The girl's Mommy, is such a graceful lady. I think she might even be younger than me although I am the one heeding advises. It is no problem for me, learning is a lifelong thing. Also, I feel that we are worlds apart. Nothing to do with any inferiority complex, a fact is a fact, we are of different worlds but we are connected in music. She has been very kind to give her time for her daughter to coach Kiki. It's not about the money exchanged, it is a token of exchange. It is that they are really warm and welcoming. The mom asked me to bring Kiki over "anytime" as freely as we can, as often as her daughter can accommodate. But I was thinking -- how could we?....
But anyway, I am just glad that we have this form of help now that we are at Perpetual Motion (Little Suite No. 6) as well as Millionaire Hoedown (for audition). These pieces resembles buzzing bumble bees, tiny, intense bowing and intense music...... building up, up & up.

I see Beauty on the Floor

I was going to my acupuncture and cupping session on Sunday morning when I observed that the shadows cast from the gates I pass are kind of nice. I've always found reflections and shadows more interesting than the object itself as shadows, imperfect reflections leave you some room for interpretation. So, I wrote a poem that goes:-

I see beauty on the floor

I see beauty in everyday things;
look no further, shadows giving hints.
I see passerby trotting down the street,
missing intricate designs under their feet.
Hey, wait up! Don't walk too fast,
look at what the gates have cast.
Check it out, look on the floor,
patterns next door, look! There's more.
I see beauty on the floor.

Now that my tummy fat is loose, the cupping did not hurt as much as the first two times.
Also, the dark, violet marks have lightened and I experience less "bloated" feelings at the stomach these days. I guess maintaining good health is a lifelong project.

Increamental Steps

Every first quarter of the year, we visit the Housing Board to make a lump sum payment on our house mortgage using our CPF. I felt a glimpse of hope today because we made a substantial payment this morning which will further reduce the capital amount, more importantly reduce the monthly interest; hence I saw light at the end of the tunnel. We look forward to completely pay up our loan. After the payment made this morning, we discussed and adjusted our plan. The adjusted plan now is to make multiple mini-payments to 快马加鞭, 加油! 加油! Ganbatte! and pay it all off. 加油! Even though I worry about not having enough money in my OA for Kico's educational needs (since we've decided to prioritize paying off the house loan),,,,,,,,,,,,, I think I've got to stick to a plan in order to gain traction and ground. So let's 快马加鞭, 加油! 加油! 加油!
