Thankful Thursday - #11

Good Morning and Happy 1st day of SPRING....

I am so ready for the flowers to start blooming, the sunrises with that little mist in the morning, afternoon walks without earmuffs, and morning coffee on the porch... so ready for Spring.

Being a Washingtonian... we have the rain, and for the most part you learn to ignore it.  But this cold... yikes...

When we moved in November, I was so excited to finally be in the city we have been trying to move to for about 3 years.  But I had NO idea how cold it got up here in the hills.  I still LOVE IT!! 

I am very thankful for the opportunity we were blessed with in November.  I believe the Lord knew that I was going to be a basket case if it took months for our home to sell.  Not that anyone had a clue that it would happen so fast, but I am truly thankful. 

Of course the building process is not anything like the selling process. LOL

We are in a hurry and wait period right now and of course all those SURPRISE fees are starting to pop up... LOL... I think that is why many people say they don't like Surprises... because of the Not Any Fun Surprises we experience.

Well, I am rambling... Hope everyone gets to see a little piece of SUNSHINE today on this 1st day of Spring. 

I think Pumpkin and I are going to play with the new G45 Botanical Tea this afternoon, because it SCREAMs Spring to me!

Thankful Thursday - #9

Happy Thursday!!

Only one more day til the weekend.... (smiles inserted here)

What am I thankful for today.... oh it is easy... I am thankful to the wonderful people I have the opportunity to communicate with everyday because of Pumpkin Spice.

I have had some really wonderful emails lately regarding orders.

Even one about how the Post Office gave their package a Scenic Journey before reaching its destination... but it arrived in perfect shape and the customer had a fun (although I bet a little frustrating) time watching the package take its journey while she checking the tracking information.

It was really nice to chat with her about the 'traveling' package and she was so sweet, even though she had every right to be less than happy.

I have another customer that emails me every time Graphic 45 comes out with a new line.  She is such a hoot... "do I need this.. oh no.. but do I want it.. Oh Yes!"  Always brings a smile to my face.

I had gentleman call to get an order he placed shipped to England for his daughter.  He wanted to make sure it would be cost effective.  It was such a pleasure working with him.

Then of course the Winners that email me with their shipping information and excitement of winning something.

And always in my thoughts are all the past Design Team ladies for SPS.  Oh how I adore each of them (and miss them). 

It is just really a pleasure being part of this 'world of crafting'.  I am truly thankful for all people I have an opportunity to meet, although it virtual.

Thankful Thursday - #8

Happy Thursday Everyone!

I love Thankful Thursday... it gives me a chance to reflect on the past few days and ponder what I have experienced that I am truly thankful for.

This week, it was a stranger... I was in a rush with Pumpkin in tow, trying to get her and our luggage to the car to get home.  In my haste I was not paying attention to my surroundings and started to go up an escalator in the wrong direction. 

The man held out his arm to stop me before I realized what I was doing.

I am so thankful because had Pumpkin stepped on the same escalator behind me, it could have been a real mess and she could have been injured.  I of course thanked the gentlemen, but not nearly enough.

Not only did the stranger prevent me from a horrible situation, he made me recognize a characteristic in myself that I would like to work on.  Slow down when things seem out of control because most likely, they will simply work themselves out.

Thankful Thursday - #7

 

 

Hello Everyone,

 

Happy Thursday!!  Tomorrow is Valentine's day... yeah!!

 

Today, I am so thankful for SLEEP.  When I don't get enough I am quickly reminded of how much I need my sleep.  When I was young, I could function just fine on 4 or 5 hours of sleep, especially during those college cram weeks.

 

But now, not so much.  Every once in a while... I am fine with just a few hours of sleep.  But when I am sleep deprived for more than 3 days... oh boy is it hard to function.  Lots of coffee.. that is all I can say!! hehehee

Thankful Thursday - #6

Happy Thursday Friends and Family,

Oh my.. it is easy to say what I am thankful for today!!

I am thankful to be a Puget Sound lifer!  This week has been amazing, and crazy.  I can not even explain the general cheer and good spirits the community of Seattle and surrounding areas have going on right now.

If anything can explain it better, 700,000 people joined together in the streets of downtown Seattle to show their 12th man spirit!  I was lucky enough to not have to go into the office yesterday... yikes! 

We hear people talk about how tragic events bring communities together, so it is absolutely wonderful to see a Cheerful event bringing people to a gathering that is all hoots and hollers, smiles and grins.  It really is a nice change of pace. 

Our little town of Issaquah has declared February 2nd a new holiday '12SAQUAH' day.  T-Shirts and everything.. lol  I need to get my hands on one.

It truly was a week of history in the making for Seattle...

Thankful Thursday - #5

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Thankful Thursday!!

Sorry my post is going up a bit late today, computer difficulties. YIKES!

All is better now... I think she just wanted to go to sleep for a while.

So it has been a rough week for me with my dear daughter Spice.  Love her so much but as we know teens think they are 'all grown up'.

My Thankful Thursday goes out to her.  I am so incredibly Thankful God gave her to me, she made me a stronger women when I was weak many years ago.  Spice has brought me much happiness, laughter, pride and heartfelt love.  I am so proud of her Strength and Self Worth.  I know she will become whatever she desires in life.

I am Thankful for the silly times we can have without caring if anyone is watching.

I love you Spice!

Thankful Thursday #4

Happy Thankful Thursday!


I am so Thankful for my kids.  I could write pages and pages why but to keep it short, I am Thankful that I don't have to worry about them getting in trouble today.  (Pumpkin is still young.. lol)

We had our sleepless nights with the boys during their teens but we made it through and their mishaps became learning lessons for everyone.

Spice just told me about a close friend who is dealing with her boyfriends possible jail time and it really made me think about how much I love my kids.

OH BOY... don't get me wrong... there are still times I want to put my '20 somethings' in a timeout and Spice still gets lectured by us, but there are things as parents we simply take for granted when we have healthy, happy children.

I am so extremely blessed!

Love you all - Pumpkin, Spice, Jake, Bran, Suzy, Snickerdoodle and Baby Girl to be.

Thankful Thursday #3

Hello Friends,

Today is Thankful Thursday.

What are you thankful for today?

I am thankful for time.  Many of us with crazy busy schedules always seem to want MORE hours in the day.  I even asked for a few more yesterday, which got me to thinking.

There are times in our lives when we wish there were less hours in the day.

For myself, there has been many times I wished for time to go faster... while waiting to hear back from a nurse when my baby had a 104 temp, waiting for results from an ultrasound that confirmed everything would be ok, waiting for that test score that is going to determine my career path, waiting for the day I walked down the isle to the one I love...

In that moment yesterday, when I was wishing for an extra few hours in the day... It just made me think... what if that wish was granted.

So I am very thankful for the TIME I DO HAVE!!

Thankful Thursday - #2

Happy Thursday,

Are you getting ready for the weekend?  I think we may go see a movie this weekend.  I have been wanting to go see "Walking with Dinosaurs".  The visual effects look amazing!

Today I am thankful for my sight.  All be it not 20/20, even with glasses, I am still very thankful that I get to enjoy seeing all the things I do everyday.  From the first morning "wake up face" on Pumpkin, to the giggles and bright eyes during nightly story-time.  Even that dirty sink waiting for me when I walk into the kitchen.

Spice brought up a question this week while we were headed to Sunday Brunch as a family.  I call it "Car Chat". Here question really made me think. If you had to choose between sight or hearing, which one would you choose?  

I had to really think about it because I love music and the sounds of nature and even the sound of the hubs snoring.  But then I thought of everything I would not experience without sight.  Reading for One!!  Oh my goodness, I love reading and looking at pictures. I would miss the little expressions on my babies faces, and the gleam in their eye when they discover something new.  I am sure you have all had that experience around a child.  They get this gleam all over their little faces that immediately warms your heart when you realize they just felt pride in something they did.  So without a question.. Sight was my pick.  

Then my second son (Bran - the comedian) told us how great it would be if he couldn't hear all the nagging I did when they where children... he found the bright side.
